  1. The car named 'Miles' that Alex from CarThrottle had was a 90hp 1.9 TD Octavia, a non-PD based engine. The other option is a 1.9 110hp model. The 100 and 130 Octavias are both PDs and therefore not compatible with veg oil without risking hefty damages. You'll find the 90 and 110 engines in a Mk4 VW Golf, B5 Passat, and some other VAG group cars like Audi A4s etc. The only Fabia that'll take veg oil is the SDI but it needs to have a Bosch fuel pump and not a Lucas pump. Hope this helps.
  2. I've had the upgrade twitch for a year now, bought the car a year ago as well.
  3. Hello and welcome to Briskoda, Charlie! Hope you like the diesel Octy!
  4. Hello and welcome to Briskoda, Dale.
  5. Hello and welcome to Briskoda!
  6. Hi and welcome to Briskoda, Mark.
  7. Hi and welcome to Briskoda, Paul! Hope you enjoy the site, and do detail anything you do on the Octavia as I'm very interested!
  8. That would have been enough of a summary if that's all the listing consisted of.
  9. The phrase "badger's arse" is thrown around a lot lately but... https://www.gumtree.com/p/skoda/2007-skoda-fabia-vrs-se/1427753329
  10. Aye, I'm thinking that too. There's another earth which runs down to a connection beside the PAS pump as a backup in case that one doesn't work or whatever. My electric window issue has disappeared so not sure if it's doing what the Punto used to and the damp has gotten to it somewhat.
  11. Thanks. My Grampa used some other adhesive in conjunction with the jubilee clip so I'll see how it is.
  12. Okay, so if you've seen the 'Annoyed' thread then you'll know that my screenwash pipe had once again disconnected. Last time it did this it had sheared off so was epoxied back into place. Good news! The epoxy stayed put... bad news... the pipe didn't. Anyway, we removed the epoxy, to be left with this... Also, just as a tip, remove the wheel and then the arch liner before doing this job. I took the opportunity to take the loose mud off of mine as well. Getting the liner back on had to be worst part of the job for sure. I now have a rear washer jet again, so not all is bad. The electrics also seem better today, which is a nice touch. Battery could do with a long run or a good charge, so will wait and see what that entails (Stirling and back, perhaps?)
  13. I think the code will be on a separate document or something. Would seem a bit pointless to put the code on the stereo itself, from a security standpoint.
  14. Hello and welcome to Briskoda. Greetings from a fellow Mk1 Fabia owner.
  15. Hi and welcome to Briskoda, Jon.
  16. Surely this has to win for the best thread title...?
  17. Well, looking like I'm not buying a new car anytime soon.
  18. Hello and welcome to Briskoda! I hope you like your Octy when it arrives.
  19. Hello and welcome to Briskoda.
  20. "Yo" and welcome to Briskoda!
  21. Haven't really listened to Amy MacDonald too much surprisingly. Definitely on the 'to listen' list, though.
  22. Doesn't Sharleen Spiteri call it the Polo Mint City on the White on Blonde album? Or at least that's the place I think she's alluding to, wouldn't say the place was pretty though.
  23. Sorry to hear that, but once again it's good that you're better.
  24. Howdy and welcome to Briskoda!
