  1. Hi - The paint code is F7Y for Quartz Grey Metallic. Don't know where the sticker is on the car, but that's the code on my touch up kit from Skoda.
  2. I can confirm that this appears to work on my car (NZ market vRS) cheers @DaveFromSydney
  3. Not sure if the SE is the same, but on my vRS the distance setting is under the 'Assist' menu in the infotainment screen.
  4. Interesting! I'm off on a cross-country drive tomorrow and the weather is promising to be pretty bad so I'll give this a try. Still trying to get some nice photos of the car but I don't think that's going to happen this weekend unless I'm very lucky....roll on summer.
  5. Lol, I was just about to say the same - I think most of us are more interested in delaying than disabling. I guess it depends on your local conditions but for me they come on way too often and it's pretty annoying when your nice, shiny clean car gets covered in washer fluid.
  6. The only stupid questions are the ones that aren't asked! 😄 I don't see why not, they're easy enough to fit so the reverse should apply.
  7. Thanks @The Big Mac appreciate you taking the time to share the info.
  8. No worries, you were spot on to mention it - there's so many nanny state rules in a lot of countries now that it's good to have a reminder that modifications that are legal for some are absolutely not in other jurisdictions. 👍 🙂 (Not 100% sure but I believe it's only a requirement in the UK for HID and LED headlights)
  9. Pretty sure that is correct for UK/Europe, thankfully not a requirement in NZ Now, that would be a better idea....IF I had access to such a device as every 4th time or whatever it is seems way too often. I wonder if the dealer would be able to sort this?
  10. Likewise, very interested if someone has a semi-permanent fix for this, like some above it's nice to have them sometimes but at other times it can be rather annoying.
  11. Ah....this sort of answers a question I had - I was originally looking at the Maxton kit but then thought I wouldn't be able to fit it with the mudflaps so had almost given up on that idea. Did you modify the mudflaps or the sideskirts? Some close up photos would be nice if you'd be so kind (also interested in how you found the fitment for the lip as when I looked under mine I see it's all covered in by an undertray - any photos/advice would be much appreciated!)
  12. I got these ones for my vRS: http://www.kopacek.com/Skoda/OCTAVIA-IV/Mud-Flaps/ Very easy to fit without removing the wheels and do a good job of keeping the worst of the muck off.
  13. This seems correct, images of the Vega alloy wheels show them with holes for the nuts whereas the covers clip over the nuts as per below photos from Kopacek's website.
  14. FWIW I usually start mine, wait until the infotainment system has booted up so that I can select auto stop/start off and driving mode and then drive off, that seems more than enough (and Skoda because occasionally the car will post an 'eco tip' message on the dash not to idle the car!) As @byteme says above - it's a car, just drive it
  15. Also these two posts quoted above, made while I was posting - as you'll note in that extract from the manual above it says to use the supplied USB cable so there could well be something to this, certainly sounding more and more like a cable issue
  16. Hmm, yeah I saw that too. Also, this from the manual: Should your vehicle not have a 12-24Vdc outlet, but does have a 5Vdc USB Outlet, this can be used instead. Connect the USB cable supplied with your iN-CAR CAM in place of the cigarette power cable. Ensure you connect the USB cable to the Powered mount only, NOT directly to the camera when using in–car Given that the USB port you're using is designed specifically for dashcams this is really weird, might be worth emailing or calling Nextbase and see if they can throw any light on the subject, here's the contact info for their technical support: Contact number (UK) 02920 866429 Contact email [email protected] Helpline hours: Monday-Friday 9am-8pm Saturday 9am-6pm Sunday 10am-5pm
  17. The Good Year's are surprisingly quiet compared to some performance tyres I've driven on, especially given their size/profile, I know others on here have mentioned they thought they were noisy compared to the standard 18" but I guess that's down to the individual. Attached is a photo of the usual road surface we have here, there's the odd motorway etc., with smooth asphalt where I personally can't hear virtually any road noise, it would be great if all our roads were like this!
  18. Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Sport 225/40 x 19 (on Altair rims) delivery was 31/05/2021 Very happy with these tyres in wet and dry conditions on our coarse chip roads and would most likely replace with the same even though I've been a big Toyo T1R fan on previous vehicles of late.
  19. Not arguing that point, it's more about knowing the exact model of camera so that we can tell whether it will run off 5v. Whilst most newer cams do, a lot of the earlier models run on 12v. At least if we know the model we can stop guessing on it's power requirements and then concentrate on the USB issue if it's revealed that it should run on 5v.
  20. This is sounding likely given the above, what is the exact model of your cam?
  21. Looking good Would you mind giving us a quick run down on the splitter install and maybe a photo of the underside? I had a look under the front of mine and it seems like it's pretty well covered off with flush panels so I'm intrigued as how the fitment is as I have the lip on my wishlist....
  22. On this note, has anyone tried one of these plug in chip boxes with any success? https://chippower24.com/en/7475-skoda-octavia-mk3-iii-5e-2-0-tsi-rs-180-kw-245-hp For a moderate amount of money they promise reasonable gains in torque and horsepower, I note that they say that the boxes are undetectable once unplugged, call me sceptical.....
  23. Hi there, that piece of foam is an impact absorber - helps support the bumper/front structure and absorbs low/mid speed impacts
  24. Really enjoying mine (2.0TSi vRS DSG Combi) had it since the end of May and apart from initial issues getting the Android Auto to work properly (solved by initially connecting via USB cable) I've had no issues at all. Not sure exactly what mileage I'm getting but as my previous vehicle was quite a bit bigger and a 3.6 litre V6 it's a huge improvement, seem to be spending roughly half on fuel compared to the old vehicle, so no complaints there. It's taken a while to get my head around some of the tech on this car as there's so much to learn but I'm pretty well on top of the majority of things now. About the only thing I don't like is when accellerating hard (especially away from a stop) in the wet I don't like the bang that comes from the front end, which I understand is to do with the dogbone mount, so I might look at upgrading that.
  25. Nice photos, very professional looking!
