  1. Yes it is removable, you can remove the paddles by using some fishing line or dental floss to 'saw' through the tape and then use something like Goo-Gone or a similar adhesive remover (WD40, petrol or acetone will work at a pinch) and an old rag, preferably something coarse like towelling and rub the reside off. It does take a little effort, but it's a small price to pay for having something that works! There's more tips and ideas here: https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+remove+vhb+tape&rlz=1C1GCEA_enNZ1128NZ1128&oq=how+to+remove+vhb&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqBwgAEAAYgAQyBwgAEAAYgAQyCQgBEEUYORiABDIHCAIQABiABDIHCAMQABiABDIHCAQQABiABDIHCAUQABiABDIHCAYQABiABDIHCAcQABiABDIHCAgQABiABDIICAkQABgWGB7SAQg3OTI4ajBqN6gCALACAA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
  2. I bought some of these off Ali Express and initially they stuck fine, but a few months later one fell off even though I had prepped the buttons and the aluminium paddles by cleaning thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol. I just removed them, recleaned and used genuine 3M double sided tape and they haven't moved since. I was a bit sceptical that the original tape that came with the paddles was genuine 3M as the logo didn't look quite right and also the tape was light grey instead of almost black. The tape I used to refix them was 3M VHB (very high bond) which is commonly used in the automotive trade. If you Google it I'm sure you'll find some near to you. Just make sure you are thorough with the cleaning side of things. You can also use Acetone for a more aggressive clean, but be careful with it as it can melt plastic. The other thing is, once you've stuck them on firmly try and leave them for at least 12 hours to allow the bond to 'cure'.
  3. I'd be very, very surprised if anyone makes those for the Octavia. You might be better off talking to a sheet metal fabrication company and see if they can knock something up for you, I wouldn't think it would be too hard a job for a competent tradesman, cost may be prohibitive but you don't know until you ask!
  4. Yeah, I forgot about that issue. It's strange when in the UK you're virtually next door, yet they have no problem shipping all the way down to New Zealand!
  5. There's Maxton: Maxton DesignOctavia | Skoda | Our OfferOctavia | Our Offer | Skoda And Rieger: https://www.rieger-tuning.biz/ There may be others but that's the only ones I've seen. You can also buy through Kopacek: https://www.kopacek.com/skoda/octavia-iv/bodykit/
  6. As above, may just be a blip but P0299 is the code for under boost - so possible leak in the system, check hoses, air box lid etc., also check air filter isn't clogged and no exhaust leaks. It could be a faulty boost actuator as that's not uncommon in VAG vehicles and/or boost pressure sensor as per @inspectorman post. I think his advice about rechecking in a month or so is also valid as it more than likely an electrical blip which doesn't seem uncommon on these cars either!
  7. I got mine from Kopacek: https://www.kopacek.com/skoda/octavia-iv/mud-flaps/ I found with the front wheels on full lock I didn't need a right angle adapter, but it would certainly have made it a bit easier! Overall, pretty quick and easy to fit and definitely reduces the road spray/crap on the car.
  8. Bridgestone Turanza's are well known for being noisy, Google it and you'll find plenty of complaints on this note.
  9. Thanks guys for taking the time to do the install photos, videos and comments - much appreciated!
  10. It would be nice if someone who has or is going to fit these could post a video of them in action, whether installed or not... 🙏
  11. I agree, definitely not normal. I would be a bit concerned about a workshop that thinks that sound is normal! Is there maybe a VW garage/specialist near you that you could try?
  12. I don't believe that Osram make them for Skoda's at this stage (unless they are the same as one of the ones listed, which I doubt), here's their web page and current offerings: https://www.osram.com/ecat/LED%20Dynamic%20Mirror%20Indicator-Car%20lighting-Automotive/com/en/GPS01_3331146/ Looking forward to seeing some of the above members results with the AliExpress ones.
  13. Did your Karoq have Matrix lights? My car does the level check, but that does have the Matrix lights.
  14. FWIW Panasonic batteries appear to last the best, there have been a few posts on this issue and that was the consensus. I now buy them by the box as my motorcycle takes the same battery for it's key, though they last longer in that than in the Skoda! Depending on use, around 6 months seems to be the average battery life for good quality batteries.
  15. They are just M6 x 8mm - your choice of the high security type/allen head/torx etc.

  17. 498 AL is wheels without centre caps, available separately 498 H is wheels with chrome/black centre caps There's some very fine print on the bottom right of that page that shows this. Both wheel codes are ET48 offset.
  18. Not sure if it's applicable to your situation, but when I first got my '21 VRs I had trouble connecting wirelessly to Android Auto but once I connected via USB cable and did the initial setup it worked fine via WiFi ever since.
  19. I'd look at getting the grille frame wrapped rather than plastidip, it'll be more durable and you can have the choice of matte, satin, gloss or metallic black. Relatively easy to do yourself if you have the skills and patience, otherwise I'm sure there's plenty of professional shops that can do it wherever you are based.
  20. +1 on that, I get similar figures in my RS if I'm behaving....
  21. Most headlights these days are polycarbonate. If the scratch is not deep, one of those headlight restoration kits might work.
  22. I saw those on Ebay from a couple of Taiwanese companies a while back, around US$300 for fibreglass and $400 for carbon average pricing. This was the cheapest one I found at US$139: https://www.ebay.com/itm/335491491467 though it is unpainted.
  23. You might want to read this thread: What size wheels/tyres do you have?
  24. Agreed! I went through batteries at an alarming rate initially, then started using Panasonic CR2032PG/18's which last for ages.
