  1. That's good to hear. A colleague sold to Motorway and got the price they quoted too so even better if that is the case! Thanks for the heads up with the settlement statement 👍
  2. Currently owe 14.5k on the PCP, offered over 21.5k on motorway. I am assuming they will knock it down to 20k but will have paid more back by the time I sell so roughly 5-6k. First time ever I've been in positive equity on a car 😂
  3. I've done some man maths and decided to order a mk 4.5 vrs on a lease. Going to trade in my current PCP and should make roughly 6k on that. A new PCP deal was coming in quite a bit more money.
  4. Anyone had issues with upgrading themselves? I'm hearing alot of success stories in here which is good but i'm on 1941 and it works great so I want to be fully confident before attempting this myself 😂
  5. My gear selector has been replaced today under the extended warranty, will see how i get on however on first impressions it is silent selecting drive and switching between normal and sport on the gearbox. I'm sure it has always made a buzzing noise when switching or selecting drive although I've had the error a while now so can't be 100% sure.
  6. Definitely slightly better but was hoping for a bit more. My wife's 1 litre Nissan Juke sounds considerably better than my mk4 Vrs to be honest! Would you recommend the upgrade to the 4.5 from the 4? I'm toying with keeping mine and paying it off, swapping for a 4.5 or going electric! Can't decide.
  7. Appreciate this post! I think they are both great looking cars however not sure I like the idea of turning off the speed limiter each time but I imagine this is where most cars are going.
  8. I've been told the fault requires the gear selector mechanism replacing as its not communicating with the gear box properly. 4-5 hour job so being booked back in for a few weeks time. Approved under skoda extended warranty.
  9. Mines in the garage for this today, hopefully covered under the extended warranty!
  10. I've bought the all in package as my car is over 3 years old now. Apparently I have to pay a diagnostic charge regardless of whether the fault is covered under the warranty or not.
  11. Sorry to bump this thread, I'm getting this issue but dealer wants £135 to diagnose it before putting a claim in under my extended warranty. I've seen this is quite a common issue and possibly a microswitch failure? Anyone had this fixed without going to Skoda?
  12. The £135 is to be paid regardless of whether the claim is successful or not.
  13. See I think we purchased at a good time but it's always tempting buying a new car! I am leaning towards buying mine so it will have to be a good deal for me to swap to be honest.
  14. Hi all, What are your experiences of the all in package from Skoda and in particular warranty claims? I've purchased it and have since had the gear selector error appear. My dealer have informed me I have to pay a £135 diagnostic fee before they make a claim to Skoda and that is not covered in the plan so is non refundable. In all honestly I thought this would've been covered given it's a common fault and was wondering what others experiences were? Thanks in advance.
  15. Some decent deals by the sound of it. I'm booked in for a chat on Monday to weigh up the options. My current PCP finishes in April with a 12k final payment, tempted to stick with it and buy it but will see what they offer.
  16. Hi all, I bought my petrol VRS new with a service plan for two years which have both been completed. I thought the first was just an oil change and the second included air filter, pollen filter and spark plugs. I've just checked my digital certificate which appears to show both services being an oil change only. I'm due to pay for my third year service at the end of the April which I thought was an oil change only but I'm concerned it might not have had an air filter change until it's 4th year if that's the case. My question is, have I got the wrong end of the stick and secondly, if not, do others digital certificate on the app show the same? The app shows the services on a variable plan (I was never given an option on this) but I wanted to get it serviced yearly. Thanks in advance.
  17. Easily get into the 40s on a 25 mile motorway run if you're sticking to 70mph.
  18. Check that thread out mate, should help a little. The squeaking does my head in. I've wrapped my dash cam wire around the mirror and surprisingly it seems to have helped the issue.
  19. Looks like a nice facelift, not sure it's enough for me to seriously consider changing my current 2021 VRS though. I was hoping to see a 4WD version of the petrol VRS
  20. Anyone had this issue resolved through the dealer? Mine has started creaking constantly under acceleration even with the fake noise turned off.
  21. I've let it run empty, definitely odd as it used to work.
  22. My car has stopped displaying the low washer fluid warning and I think the headlight washers don't appear to activate anymore. Before they used to activate quite regularly and the light would come on when there was still a fair amount left. I use mixture of water and the genuine screenwash. It is due in for warranty work next week so I will ask but was wondering if anyone else had noticed the same?
  23. It could be possible they are doing them in batches? Mine is a 2021 model. I've spoken to my dealership and it's confirmed the recall is on there and it's got to be done when it goes in next (which is October for warranty work)
  24. Hi mate, someone put a link into one of the threads ages ago and I've kept it bookmarked. https://aus.skoda.com.au/request/vin-checker
  25. That's brill. Hoping to get mine when it's in the workshop October. Looks like it's gone on as an outstanding recall
