  1. I thought the same thing but there is very little difference in the whiteness in a YouTube group test I watched so I bought the NBL
  2. Fully agreed RE the VTECs chum
  3. Torque & MPG is attractive but the sound is rubbish & personally I don't like the narrow power band of a derv. Plus there are more things to go wrong in a modern oil burner
  4. Was the battery disconnected when the RC was installed?
  5. Don't know. Why was it replaced last time? Same issues with lights etc?
  6. Buy a 2nd hand tdi-tuning box off eBay (£80), then get TDI tuning to reprogram it (£70) & jobsagoodunn
  7. Failed body control unit. Just had mine replaced under warranty. £600 plus labour I think it's the cost of paying yourself
  8. I've owned a few high powered FWD cars (SAAB turbos / Clio Williams etc) down the years & to some degree or another have had to wrestle with the steering wheel under full throttle. I've now got a tuned 220 TSI with about 420NM at my disposal & I'm amazed at how straight it goes with little input into the wheel from myself. Very impressive
  9. Found it second hand but unused on eBay. Some guy had bought a pair for his MK7 golf GTI but only wanted the front ARB. I think it was £160 posted
  10. £7.58 30%OFF | LED Footwell Light Luggage Compartment Glove Box Lamps For Seat Ateca Alhambra Skoda Superb Rapid VW Passat B6 B7 Golf 5 6 Caddy https://a.aliexpress.com/_m0EL5sy
  11. I can recommend Pirelli All Season SF2. Pretty close to the best in all round performance but I opted for them due to their quietness/ comfort
  12. I fitted an Eibach 25mm RARB to my 220 TSI. Delighted with the outcome! Far less rolly in the bends & in doing so has sharpened up steering response. Plan for the KONIs sometime but my budget only went as far as new ARB
  13. How many miles on them? The koni's
  14. RE: the annoying / dangerous start stop feature, I've recently sorted that by fitting a £14 cable underneath the centre console that permanently disables it. What's your next motor?
  15. I think my next upgrade will be Koni shocks. I can't be bothered messing about with suspension geometry or ride height. I found my swaybar for £160 2nd hand but unused condition on eBay
  16. I can thoroughly recommend a thicker rear anti-roll bar. It really sorts out the Roly polyness! It's a lot more responsive to steering inputs too. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't turn it into a BMW M5 but for all it cost I think a bargain. FYI: all 2wd MK7 Golf upgrade ARBs should fit the MK3. Easier to find than Superb specific
  17. I put on some all season Pirelli SF2. Cannot fault them. Nice & comfortable / quiet too
  18. I toyed with the idea of D3S LED bulbs as customer reviews on Amazon were excellent. I think in projector housings they will throw out a lot of light without blinding incoming cars. However, I would worry about long term damage to ballast or them overheating etc. Plus they are a pain in the ass to change / access. I went for top of the range osrams instead & very happy
  19. I did this to save wear and tear on the battery / starter motor. Shortly after I took ownership the original battery died on a car with under 30k miles. I could only imagine this was due to lots of short journeys & auto start stop in traffic. It also irks me when I want to get onto a roundabout quickly in traffic & the engine isn't ready when I need it. £14 for a cable to save buying another battery at £200 seems a bargain
  20. Hi folks. I bought a cable to be fitted underneath the auto start/stop to disable it forever. I have prised the bottom of the trim a little but don't want to force & break anything if there is a better way to go about it. Anyone any ideas?
  21. I know it's not a map but I put a tuning box on mine & it goes like **** off a shovel now! But indeed many mk7 golf GTi bits transferable. I fitted an aftermarket golf 25mm rear anti-roll bar to mine
  22. Thats interesting that the golf gti should request 98RON when it's the same unit found in my Superb 220tsi which states on filler 95 minimum.
  23. I can still get super at my local Sainsbury's for less than £1.5. I'll probably just stick to that . The 280 is a 98RON minimum anyway I believe. I run a 220 which is a 95 minimum. However, I'm fairly convinced it's happier on the dearer fuel
  24. It's interesting that the govt don't discount the price of it since they've watered it down with bioethanol. It's all fine and well saying it's less harmful, but if cars are using more of it due to it being less combustible, then what is the point Thank you
