One week in … delighted ex-Audi owner using a manual gear shift again.

Well I’m 2 weeks in with my OV plus Canton. Cat is predictably excellent and I’m loving manual gearbox shifting again. The Canton is brilliant. Significantly better than my previous Audi system. I am still playing with the settings, but it is delivering above my expectations

Useful point sneal... I’ve hardwired my Halo Pro by the rear mirror to ensure the sleep/nudge functionality is charged and ‘on duty’ all the time it’s parked up.

Yep … the whole reason I went manual after x5 DSGs… gotta plan for the end of the ICE world

Good point - I secured great finance which was dependent on a 2021 completion. Also, the chaotic impact of electrification on the market, allied to the plan to keep it for some years, means that registering it in late 2021 will cost me little in real terms over my planned ownership period.

Happy days for me … ordered end July, collected today! 245 petrol manual with pano roof, Canton and wireless charging. Very happy owner who recommends Garland’s 100%.

I’m just coming out of an Audi A4 V6 and this has happened to me every month since I took delivery as a new ‘67’... clearly a VAG serious fault

Still had 30-40 available.... all anonymous except one ‘WTF’... happy with that!

Trusted contacts who do my odd body repair always advise against alloygaters, original or new version.... I won’t be bothering despite the risk those beautiful 19s

I was in Dealer yesterday choosing number plate for 31/12 pick up of 25/07 order and apparently orders placed now are advised of 12 month wait time!

Virtually the same here, ordered 6 weeks later in end July. Arrived at dealer last week and collecting 3 January. Such a random fulfilment process.

If you’re doing under 6k per year then I’d stick to petrol personally… don’t underestimate the fun factor either, as the iV is much heavier and will handle accordingly. If I was driving for pleasure and leisure that would be the biggest influencer for me

In July there were much less choices. I went for silver, panoramic roof, wireless charging pad, and Canton which meant I also needed to get the spare wheel pack too which I guess is no bad thing. Super chuffed that the Canton has actually been fitted as it’s a deleted option now, but colour-wise I would have gone green or orange if I’d had the choice. Its a manual too... Garlands were surprised I didn’t go auto (as the majority do), but I’m coming out of an Audi V6 A4 DSG and the auto box drives me crazy with terrible lag, and a very unintuitive change. The Skoda box is the same and I just couldn’t face it so it’s a stick this time! Will be great to get control back!

Yep Garlands in Aldershot. Hugely impressed by them and very pleased to have placed my order there.

They emailed every week and by early Nov they confirmed it had left the Plant for shipping, confidently said it would arrive on site by 1 December and available 7-10 days later… so I’m guessing it was 3-4 weeks. My dealer has 3 sites and is very chilled about collection. Nice people

I do want to collect ASAP and am not deferring for any reason other than any future significant drop in value between years of registration. If it’s a 21 or 22 will there be a financial impact 3-5 years down the line? We’re only talking 14 days wait.

So my new VRS 245 Estate has arrived at the dealer and will be ready for handover about mid December. I am coming out of the company car scheme into it after 30 years of fleet vehicles so suddenly other irrelevant costs are looming! My company Audi goes back 10 January so my car allowance doesn’t trigger until then. I’m about to agree collection date from Garlands and wondered if registering it in December 21 would cost me in depreciation in the long term as opposed to registering in January 22? I totally appreciate that the value of all vehicles is bizarrely affected by supply chain and electrification once-in-a-lifetime issues, but would appreciate thoughts. What would you do? I’m tempted to just get in the thing ASAP!

I have to say my 245 estate came into the dealer this week pretty much exactly as predicted by Garlands. Order placed July 21
