  1. I came from a 67 A4 Avant V6 Quattro into a new MY21 245 vRS Manual (both wagons). I’ve had minor software issues, but I can live with it. Audi quality a little higher, but then price was a lot more. Octy MUCH bigger inside than A4 which was a dealbreaker for me. Also, Garlands Skoda incomparably better dealer than any Audi garage I ever used. I ordered in July 21 & took delivery in Dec 21 (pano roof, Canton & wireless) so got very, very lucky on delivery times, largely due to great advice and support from Garlands...just wish it was orange!).
  2. I love the original vRS green, but hyper is too loud and sometimes it’s definitely better to be a little under the radar.... my silver MY21 suits the car well, but I’d have gone orange if it had been an option.
  3. I had the same thing on a ‘67’ Audi A4… dealer turned downed the sensor to the lowest setting which almost cured the same problem. They couldn’t turn it off as lease company refused. I’ve got the same issue on my new vRS, but am just driving around it now. Not an exclusive Skoda issue, more of a VAG setting to optimise safety NCAP scores I imagine? Darned regulators
  4. OEM definitely flex’s sufficiently
  5. Boring standard load liner .. perfect fit, non-slide and fifty quid! Job jobbed
  6. Interesting hearing about more and more glitches and learning the fixes.... I can live with all the problems on this otherwise great car, but if I lose the lane assist shortcut on the steering wheel it’s getting traded!
  7. Thread resurrection! I get that on CarPlay (Waze) quite frequently... any fix known on here?
  8. Thanks Dave - super helpful info
  9. Okay so I had a 67 Audi Avant and rather hoping the bespoke roof bars will fit straight onto my Octavia IV ... fingers crossed
  10. It’s a bold look... love the rear diffusers and spoiler extender, but not sure the side skirts work.
  11. Great comment and one I totally agree with, especially after spending January tweaking my IV Canton system too. It’s great value for money.
  12. Interesting difference in views ref; DSG Vs Man... I have had auto BMW, Audi, Mercedes and Volvo for 20 years.... hopped into my brand new vRS manual wagon in December and couldn’t be happier.... it’s just miles more fun! So glad I chose it while I could
  13. It’s a horrible thing … I just avoided it!
  14. This was exactly it for me. Nothing else comes close financially, allied to a pure driving experience. I was prepared to wait for it ‘ad infinitum’. Good outcomes are largely reliant on whether you did your homework and polished your crystal ball. That and some honest expectation management on all fronts.
  15. 1.5 years!!! Astonishing if true ... the model, if not Brand, is at risk surely UK waits officially only quoted at 12 months this week!
  16. Assuming this is the same system utilised by Audi, I had a main dealer turn down the sensitivity to the lowest setting which greatly reduced the frequency of false emergency braking
  17. Me too.... my only disappointment is missing this seat upgrade. Hey ho!
  18. My vRS buying decision was strongly driven to avoid this deadline and not get ISA ... an alert and trained driver makes the best decisions for local driving. It will be interesting to see this week's mitigation of driver error when automation gets it wrong. I feel old, but I also feel lucky to have enjoyed a lack of forced automated interference in driving for the last 40 years. For the record I clearly didn't die despite being the driver and decision maker all this time!
  19. One of the many reasons I went Octy vRS was to avoid going down the Focus ST styling route!
  20. Same here - I went for a local expert shop applying a ceramic coat after paint correction for £400 2 weeks ago which my Skoda dealer volunteered was far better quality than an Autoglym application and actually cheaper than the £500 they wanted.
  21. Great deals on RoadAngel Halo at the moment... great quality and recommended
  22. No. Two weeks in and all perfect so far.
  23. After much hand wringing I went Canton and Pano, and didn’t take DCC. I prefer a firmer ride and didn’t think I’d bother constantly resetting the suspension. Two weeks in and I’m delighted with the quality of the ride and don’t regret omitting DCC. I guess you don’t miss what you never had?!
  24. I have a Skoda one on order, dealer only charged £55... will post pictures when it’s in stock and delivered.
