  1. I had silver vRS wagon and went black bumper protection. Blended perfectly, particularly as has black badging - will post a picture tonight
  2. Definitely much more reliable for me in recent weeks, but still occurs most journeys, albeit self-rectifying in 3/4 minutes
  3. Quick tip for UK posters … Timpson’s replaced my first battery last week for £15 after 16 months use. I very rarely use the fob buttons so wonder if that extends life? They have an offer on atm which I took up… £20 and lifetime free replacements
  4. I’ve averaged 31mpg in 2:0 TSI over 20k. Mixture of fast roads and school runs so a good real world average
  5. 4S… local tyre shop Merit Tyre couldn’t supply any 5s
  6. Totally with you on ride height … iV just doesn’t look right being taller
  7. This was my thinking jumping into a self-owned petrol vRS after years of diesel company cars. No regrets at all mileage-wise, plus the weight of a hybrid defeats the object of most agile hot hatches
  8. Mine came new in Dec 2021 with Goodyear Eagles. Pants! Binned the fronts on 18k for Michelin Pilot Sports ... much grippier, much comfier, much quieter.
  9. I’m using my ‘67 Audi A4 Avant roof bars on my ‘21 Octy IV and they fit and work a treat
  10. Two wet weeks on and I’m delighted with the Michelins. Significantly more grip than OE and better ride too. Very happy customer
  11. Many thanks - one week in and I love them. Big improvement from OE - thanks a lot for replying
  12. Thanks for comments - just to clarify fronts only replaced this morning and picked up in torrential rain.... 4s terrific improvement. 5 not available ...
  13. Sadly just the one! A lovely 3:0 Audi, but with a DSJ box that I never got one with, hence back in a manual
  14. Sadly just the one! A lovely 3:0 Audi, but with a DSJ box that I never got one with, hence back in a manual
  15. VI vRS petrol manual owner here sitting at 18k. Front grip from OE Goodyear Eagles has always been terrible in all weathers .. but bear in mind I’ve been spoilt in Quattros for last 6 years so might be unjustly critical. I’m sitting on the fronts at about 2.5-3mm and have just ordered a pair of front Michelin pilot sport 4s tyres … tell me I’ve done the right thing? What are others using?
  16. Feels a bit check mate doesn’t it? Personally I don’t believe the conspiracy stories that it’s planned to drive electrification… purely on the basis that the car industry hasn’t driven anything for months (& more importantly neither have many of us 🙂 ..)
  17. Good points - I was in for the same opportunity at work with company installed charger (plus choice of EQC or Tesla). I went for an opted-out petrol Octavia in the end, only waited 5 months for it and understand the others who went for PHEV still waiting 19 months later!!! I could give you many arguments for staying petrol only including my 15k annual mileage, and don't dismiss self-charging hybrids since my other half got a CHR Toyota for her 1.5 mile commute (yep, one point five!!!), but ............. the Octavia's increased ride height for the PHEV to accommodate ground clearance for low slung batteries was a total deal breaker for me! Ruins the vRS look IMHO! Have you ever seen Usain Bolt in stilettos.....?!
  18. Thanks all for very helpful replies - I’m guessing I’ll wait for VAG to eventually fix!
  19. Hi all - my 11 month old vRS has had no bugs or issues at all, except one. Mapping via Waze or Google Maps over- pixilates to make the screen unreadable within 2 mins of using. Voice directions stay accurate and clear. It only ever resets if I exit car play, but then repeats. Dealer is offering an inspection to see/fix, but before I book it in, has this affected anyone else at all and am I wasting my time? I hugely miss Waze!
  20. Totally sensible comment. I’m generally very happy with my IV Tsi, but putting 245bhp down on winter roads is hard enough, any more would be beyond tiresome wheel spin
  21. OE bumper protector - @£75 fitted OE bumper protector … gloss black. Looks great and works!
  22. I had dealer fitted bumper lip protector fitted at handover on my Mk 4... went for black over clear and it looks great with silver paint and gloss highlights. Salesman said he’d fit it purely for the look which ties in with the exterior black highlights. I’ll post pictures later! Only cost about £50 fitted. Recommended
  23. Hoping for a reply from someone. vRS seats epically comfortable, but cloth covering is horribly cheap. I really regret not getting the seat upgrade, despite it being silly money. Do Skoda offering any solution because front seats such a unique shape
  24. J must admit it’s taken me a couple of months to get the Canton sounding just right... I’m very pleased with it now especially as it was just £6/700
