  1. I’ve had my Scout for almost three years and have only recently realised there is a different way to display the menu as a grid instead of a list. This is the way it show’s on my recently loaned work car. There is an option under Menu -> settings -> screen to display the menu as grid or list. This option isn’t available on my Scout (MY18) but is on the work Octavia (68 plate). Is it something I could change in VCDS?
  2. Look at the top of this forum. VCDS mods can be done through OBD eleven.
  3. You want the next gen Pro version for the most utility.
  4. Forgive me if it's already detailed somewhere in the last 86(!!) pages, but have you mentioned what software/hardware you have to enable you to do all your programming?
  5. Nice one, thanks.
  6. Well yes, they look like that, but there are two options on eBay and I can't recall which ones are the ones. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-SELF-TAPPER-SELF-TAPPING-TORX-SCREW-ENGINE-UNDERTRAY-SPLASHGUARD-4-8-x-15-mm/171102498299?hash=item27d680edfb:g:jE8AAMXQPW5SFhVn or https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-GRILLE-BUMPER-SKIRT-TORX-SCREW-BOLT-WHEEL-ARCH-SPLASHGUARD-5-x-16-mm/190997921205?fits=Car+Make%3AVW&hash=item2c785cfdb5:g:LLcAAOxyNo9Spe9n
  7. Does anyone know what the pitch of the underbody Torx screws that hold the wheel arch liner and engine tray in place is? eBay has 4.8x15mm or 5.0x15mm options.
  8. Firm whack with a mallet? How old is it? If it’s still in warranty, just get it looked at next time you’re passing or are in for service.
  9. On a Facelift Octavia 3, under Car menu -> settings-> opening and closing there is an option to change central locking from single door to vehicle side or all doors. With your setup now, a second press of the unlock on the key fob will unlock all the doors.
  10. It should be. Are you intending to fit by yourself? You’d need to source an 8k OPS controller, panel Push button, buzzer plus the loom, sensors, sensor holders and an OEM hole cutter for the bumper (I have one of these I no longer need). Somewhere like cars-equipment or car-systems sell kits. If you don’t want to do it yourself, there’s a place in Coventry that will retro-fit (http://poollretrofits.com/seat_optical_parking_sensors_front_rear_retrofit/) for £580+VAT for a Seat Leon FR, a VRS isn’t going to be much different.
  11. No poo found on the bumper 🤣
  12. Wasn't about to walk back down a dark hard shoulder on the M5 to look for it... Plus I think I've read somewhere that adrenaline in the blood can taint the meat.
  13. I've had the bumper off. There's a small crack in the surround for the fog light, but that, along with the previously mentioned damage seems to be all there is. Can't see anything else obvious. Luckily no front assist on this car.
  14. I don’t think Bambi made it home...
  15. The Youtube app isn't enabled for Android Auto. You'd need to find an alternative. Have a look on the XDA-Developers forum.
  16. Heading home last night and saw a shape on the hard shoulder of the motorway. As I registered what it could be, the deer stepped out into the carriageway in front of me. Cue some cursing, emergency braking and a swerve, but the deer impacted the NS Front bumper and then the all the tires on that side (including trailer). A quick stop on the hard shoulder and I feel that I got away fairly lucky, one parking sensor popped out and some leaking washer fluid. This morning I got the bumper off and found that the NS washer jet was fractured as well as the washer fluid bottle 😡 🤬 . The sensor was a simple fix in comparison, just requiring a bit of adhesive to glue the bracket back on to the bumper. A quick google and I can't find whether the washer jet (5E0.955.965.F) is specific to the scout, or if I can use any 5E0.955.965 variant. Likewise for the washer bottle 5Q0.955.449.BJ01S - is this likely to be specific to the scout? I've only found one on eBay from Lithuania.
  17. Feel free to PM me, I can run a scan of your car which would pick up any faults.
  18. Have a look on the map
  19. Next step? Find someone with VCDS and get it scanned.
  20. Yes. It's not the same as VCDS of course, but it works. You can do long coding and adaptations now.
  21. I’d be wary of Carista as you have no idea what changes are being made to your coding, nor any way of logging the changes. On that same vein, I’d also suggest not using the OBDEleven “apps” to perform changes. Spend a little bit more on the Pro pack and do the coding changes yourself following the guides available on this forum.
  22. There are two “P” buttons: This one activates parking aids such as the camera or OPS sensors. This one activates park assist where the car “parks itself”.
  23. All I can say is I coded it this way and it works as described. I lock the car and the mirrors fold in. I unlock the car, the mirrors stay folded until I turn the key in the ignition. Much better for when you’ve left something in the car and don’t want the mirrors pointlessly unfolding.
