  1. At the time I had no reason to doubt as a family member just collected their Octavia in Jan that they ordered at the end of the previous August
  2. When I ordered, I was told July/Aug. That suited me fantastic. Now that it's delayed to whenever, the current Leon is due a service, NCT (equivalent to the MOT) and car tax in the next few weeks. I was hoping to avoid those.....
  3. I doubt it. They are all 1.0TSI or diesel basic spec. One Style and no VRS. I'd think dealers orders for basic "Paddy spec" that'll sell.
  4. Just checked today and there's 10 displaying as in stock. Sign of things improving?
  5. I was passing my local Hyundai dealer in the local town. They have at least 40 new vehicles in the forecourt waiting to go. The problem was that they were all SUV which I have zero interest in. Contrast that to the local Skoda/Seat/Cupra which had very little that I could see.
  6. From reading the stories here I can't complain. I'm a Jan '22 ordered so I'm expecting Q1/Q2 next year. However, I had the choice of ordering a Cupra Leon from the same dealer at the same time and the interior of the Octavia is what I preferred. I'm debating with myself if I would have had the Cupra now if I ordered it back then
  7. If you think that's bad, Ireland has two - TWO! One diesel vRS & one Style https://stock-cars.skoda-auto.com/941/en-IE/?step=filters&ModelFamily=NX_2022
  8. There's a 1.5TSi Manual Style at home that someone else uses. They are happy with it overall. Things they are happy with How quiet the 1.5TSi is and it's more economical than expected Comfortable and very relaxing to drive Space. There's a lot more space than expected. The Style has a few "blingy bits" that make it look a bit better than the ordinary ones. Things that surprised How easy the infotainment was for them to use and set up the way they like it (as they are over 70 and struggle with an old Nokia brick phone!) Zero crashes, foibles etc from infotainment Ride quality for a car on 18" wheels - a LOT better than expected A few things that annoy are The anti-stall stuff that rises the revs for low speed maneuvering seems to switch itself off at random intervals meaning almost stalling. Previous car was a 2.0 Diesel Octavia and had enough torque at idle to manouver They hate the auto-handbrake. It's the first car they've had with auto-hanbrake and some adjustment time is needed. Virtual Cockpit has too many options/configurations for their liking.
  9. Geez. If that's remotely accurate, I'd consider cancelling the Octavia and reorder a Cupra Leon (even though I don't like the dash on them!). It would be here before the Octavia.....
  10. Looks more like the bronze colour that was on the mk1 Granada to me. I imagine that it would look better on bigger wheels
  11. I ordered in Jan 22 and while being told July/Aug 22 initially, I was expecting early '23. Given what I'm seeing here, I think I'd be lucky for mid '24!
  12. I've ordered a VRS TSI in Jan 22. No news on dates. Dealer said "Aug 22 maybe?". I countered with Jan 23 and he didn't say anything to say I was wrong.
  13. I went browsing on the Skoda Ireland website. It has a function to check stock levels. There's 7 Octavia's (2 are RS TDI, one 1.0TSI) and1 Enyaq in stock against 52 Fabias in stock and 30 Superbs in stock. Interesting to see where the shortages are.
  14. Well, I heard a good one today. Skoda are running advertisments on national radio here apologizing for the delays in Octavias, Kodiaqs and a third I cant remember.
  15. For my own sanity, I decided not to bother annoying myself by chasing answers from the Dealer. It's not like they can change the production schedule. I'm waiting for the dealer to phone and say "it's here". It's going to be a surprise when it arrives. I expect a wait of a year. I ordered in Jan 2022. I assume it'll be the year from looking at https://www.marnet-mobility.de/aktuelle-lieferzeiten.html
  16. Well, I can't see the colour I ordered.....
  17. At this rate, I'll be lucky to get the facelift. I ordered back in end January. I think I'll be lucky for next January/February. At least it'll give plenty time to look forward to it. What it does mean is that I hope the current car can hold on a bit longer.
  18. I'm the same. I was told originally July. I'm hopeful for this time next year. Given the mess, I'll probably get the facelift. Why didn't I order at the same time as the others in the family!
  19. I've just checked https://www.marnet-mobility.de/aktuelle-lieferzeiten.html and the Octavia is gone up to 12 months for the VRS. I'm another that ordered a few weeks ago and was originally told July/Aug. I don't expect it until the new year now.
  20. Oh I'm expecting Jan 23 for delivery myself. If it arrives in October, November or December I'll hold off for next year's registration
  21. The dealer did tell me of one Skoda that was delivered in Jan just gone and it was ordered in November '21. I think the 4 and a half months for the relations Octavia is beaten by that. I'm wondering are different countries being prioritised at different rates? Maybe I'm just talking out my proverbial
  22. Well I'll have a wait. I ordered a 245TSi VRS at the end of Jan. I was told then it should be July or Aug. At the time, the 5/6 months sounded reasonable as the Octavia I ordered for a family member back in Aug2021 arrived just after Christmas. I was back at the dealer last week and half joking said "July which year?" and the answer was "Dont ask, just don't ask".

Hi all, I'm from Ireland and I've my first Skoda on order.......
