Mirror housing charging port.
I've a Garmin one that does all the speed limit alerts, lane warning, collision warning, etc and it's powered off the mirror port. For everything else, I use Waze

Mirror housing charging port.
With the cost of hardwiring it, would it be cheaper to buy a different dashcam that doesn't need as much current?

Mirror housing charging port.
I'm open to correction but I think that port supplies 1.2A. If so, that's your issue, the port cant supply enough. I've Garmin Dash Cams plugged in and it works.

1.5Tsi manual: still kangarooing when cold
Just thinking, We have some maneuvering to do before getting up to speed and it could be over a minute before actually driving from starting. That probably eliminates the issue for us.

1.5Tsi manual: still kangarooing when cold
Nope, never experienced it.

Mirror housing charging port.
Is the port supplying enough current (rather than voltage)? I had that when powering a Garmin Sat Nav in another vehicle from the built in USB port. Switching to a 12V USB cigarette adaptor supplied enough juice to run it. I can't see from a quick Google what current/voltage it requires.

Columbus Infotainment dead after update last night
The second screen is just the "radio off" screen. A press of the power button to the left of the volume slider turns the radio off and on. A quick tap of the power just mutes. Ya, a silly design.

If you thought that the paint on you new car is clean..
I don't think it's rust from the car panels. It's probably rust from the iron fallout. As the car was shipped by rail, you'll get iron fallout. It's the same type of fallout seen on wheels from brake disk iron fallout. However, I'd be surprised if the dealer had the time to properly decontaminate the car prior to delivery with claying and fallout remover......

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
Just thinking @varooom, can I get a link to the download? The VRS service is a while off and I was going to get it updated then. However, if they "can't", I'd like the option to do it myself

No point, the lever doesn't move left or right.

Infotainment System Restarting endlessly
I had "random" reboots typically less than 1 minute after starting the car and by a process of elimination, I found it was related to whether I had a phone charging and/or streaming podcasts. What I found was 1. Charging a phone (Google Pixel) and using Android auto, single reboot next start 2. Charging a phone without using Android auto, no reboot 3. Charging a phone, using Android auto and streaming podcasts, odd double reboot, normally single reboot. 4. Not charging a phone, no reboot, streaming podcasts or not 5. Charging a phone, Android auto on but screen switched back to standard screen, no reboot What caught me was a lot of my journeys are short enough time wise (less than 30min) so I wouldn't bother charging the phone so no issues would appear. Now I know what the trigger pattern is, I can avoid and hang on until I get the update

Flappy Paddles
For me, I put it into manual by just pulling on the paddle on the steering wheel when in "S" or "D". When wanting to go back to S or D from manual, I just pull back on the gear selector (back into S or D).

Fuel tank capacity?
This reminds me of the Fiat Ducato X290 fuel tank. The Ducato came with a 60L, 90L or 120L tank. The unladen weight of a van is calculated with the tank filled to a set percentage (80% I think). The 60L and 90L were physically the same tank, the 90L has a restriction in it to make it a 60L capacity. Result, a 20kg reduction in unladen weight and the option of selling a "big tank" upgrade by simply removing the restriction......
-
Fuel tank capacity?
According to the blurb above taken from the manual, about 6L reserve so I imagine yes. If it comes on at a percentage of tank capacity, it's such a small difference it makes no difference. Say for example it comes on at 10% capacity, it's 4.5L for small tank, 5L for big tank, 500ml difference.

Fuel tank capacity?
Well, all I know is that it takes an extra 5 litres or so to fill the 1.5TSI compared to the VRS TSI, both filling from red light just on to fill at the same petrol station. And doing on different days doesn't change the outcome or change the statements on the fuel card. My VRS has a smaller tank than my 1.5 TSI
-
Fuel tank capacity?
I'm wondering if it's anything to do with various markets having different taxation requirements and then Skoda changing the tank size to suit the country taxation requirements. Ireland has the taxation based on CO2 emissions and at the moment, with the small tank, the VRS TSI is at the top of one band. If the emissions go up a small bit, it goes to the next band up, making the vehicle a lot more expensive
-
Fuel tank capacity?
Well, for the two at home, the VRS TSi is 45L and the 1.5TSi is 50L plus. The VRS has a small tank compared to the 1.5 when filling them from "red light on" back to back in the same petrol station.

Thule Roof Bars for Hatchback
I ordered mine from my local Skoda dealer as I found the dealer was cheaper than Thule for the same thing.
-
Ceramic Coating. Is it worth it?
Ya, mine are coated with CarPro CQuartz and topped with CarPro Gliss. The plastics, wheels etc were CarPro DLux and Gtechniq G1/G2 on the glass. I did it myself as I am fortunate to have a garage to prep, apply and had access to another car when I was waiting for them to cure. I prepped myself with a contamination wash, Merzerna polishes and pads. The supplying dealer (with their agreement) didn't touch the paint (so I wasn't trying to remove whatever they put on)
-
Delivery times?
Ya I was wondering the same if some countries were prioritized over others. We ordered two at home. One took 4/5 months (delivered Jan 22), the other 8 months (delivered Sept 22). All ours were bought, not leased.

vRS Engine Cover Recall
I figured it out where to pull it from.... I've the new one, part no ending in L and manufactured Feb 2023.

vRS Engine Cover Recall
I hope so! It's probably me being too careful!
-
Are the center air vents annoying?
I'm another that has them pushed up. Others at home just close it. It was annoying for about 3.5 seconds until I just redirected it.

vRS Engine Cover Recall
I tried to pull mine off but it wouldn't move. It kept flexing and I chickened out incase I damaged it.

New Octavia vRS Driverline Email
Never heard of them. My immediate reaction is to chat to the dealer when collecting and do nothing now. When collecting mine, the dealer set up all the relevant Skoda assistance and app stuff. A WhoIs search has that domain owned by Easyspace Ltd, a domain reseller. I can't see how that's linked to Skoda.
