Anyone actually happy with their MK4? 😂
There's two MK4 at home. One 1.5tsi manual Style, 11 months old 8000km and a 2.0tsi DSG VRS that's 6 weeks old with 1500km. The only problem we have had is sometimes it comes up that front collision avoidance system unavailable comes up on the RS. It appears about a minute into the journey on cold mornings and disappears after a few minutes. I'm wondering if it's due to dew on the sensor array first thing. We've had no software errors, no noisy SOS, no other warnings etc. in both cars. I did have one VERY annoying rattle that drove me mad for 2 weeks until I figured it out. It was very light and eventually I copped that the umbrella was rattling in the door. Yes, the Skoda umbrella..... Fuel consumption is shockingly good for what they are. The 1.5tsi will easily do about 4.8L/100km on a long motorway journey (200km plus) and I've seen 6.5L/100km over a 50km journey in the VRS. However, they drink around town..... Both are very quiet and refined compared to the previous MK2 Octavia and MK3 Leon (184ps FR TDi) Infotainment is a lot easier to work than I expected from some of the reviews. We should have ordered DSG for the Style one having experienced the DSG in the RS for the first time. I can however, tell the difference in the rear suspension setups of the two over "typical Irish backroads" and the torsion beam doesn't cope as well as the independent rear suspension.

Wheel nut lockers
Ya, one car is 5 weeks old and one gone, two about to fall off. The other is 10 months old and 4 gone and 5 about to fall off.....

Wheel nut lockers
I don't have them locking wheel nuts either and I'm in Ireland. My problem is the plastic nut covers keep falling off!

Soft/Light Pedals Mk4 vRS
It is worse than the 2014 Leon FR that I had alright

Soft/Light Pedals Mk4 vRS
I'm in the fortunate position to have two MK4 Octavia at home and both are like that

Delivery times?
I noticed that Skoda Ireland took the iV Octavia off their pricelists.

Delivery times?
I called to my local Skoda dealer (collecting something). I saw 6 VRS in the showroom and outside, engines unknown. I didn't see any other other Octavia's, one Superb and two Scala. Maybe Skoda sent all the VRS to Ireland?

Wish i hadn't bought my MK4 Octavia and kept my karoq
Ya, there are two MK4 Octavia's in the yard here at home and zero problems. One is only a few weeks old granted but the other has been faultless all year. Strangely the Style on 18" wheels I find it very soft and comfortable, not at all harsh over bumps and there plenty bumpy roads in Ireland!

Wireless android auto
You have wireless Android Auto on in the phone app itself? It's at the very bottom of the app.... Other than that, I'm stumped

Wireless android auto
Just checking that you have "phone calls", "media audio", "contact sharing" and "text messages" switched on in the phone Bluetooth settings? I've seen them being off stopping wireless Android Auto

Wireless android auto
I've 1896 software and using a Pixel 4. When collecting the car, I connected it via Bluetooth, then by USB cable. I went into smartlink (I think thats what it was called) and followed the instructions for Android Auto setup. Switched off the car and since then, I've had wireless Android Auto.

Delivery times?
Press the "vehicle status" on the home screen of the phone app, the one that shows the range. That shows the service then at the bottom of the screen. What's interesting is the app shows 2 year 30K km interval while the dealer is going for half that. I'll be going for the shorter interval as anything over a year isn't right in my eyes.

Delivery times?
Just collected mine. VRS TSI DSG First time driving any form of auto. It took me about 30 seconds to get used to it. The dealer did warn me about emergency stops and automatically "stamping on the clutch" and having two feet on the brake. One slight annoyance, no engine cover and no sight of one either. Next plan is ceramic coating. I've a stash of CarPro here waiting to go on. That's my weekend taken.

Wireless Android Auto
I had problems with no wireless Android Auto connecting, no contacts being updated, no media etc when it was working perfectly. Turns out a phone update modified the Bluetooth connections and switched off the media sharing. Enabling all sharing in the Bluetooth connection properties on the phone fixed all my AA issues. I use a Pixel4A phone.

Delivery times?
I just updated the spreadsheet there with the order details and delivery date. There's some wild variations in delivery time in weeks. Mine is less than half of others. I'm wondering if Skoda are prioritising some countries or dealers as this is the second MK4 Octavia the family has ordered and achieved a VERY quick delivery (received a 1.5TSi style in Jan 2022 after ordering in Aug2021)

Delivery times?
Well, I called to the dealer randomly (as I was in town shopping). The car had arrived 20 min before I called. Due to work, I can't collect until this time next week. I thought about pushing collecting it to the new year but decided "na, I'll take it now!"

Change Driving Mode Default Setting from Normal to Eco
Given my past experience of Eco mode and Normal mode on a MK3 diesel Leon (not the same car but same basic architecture). The Eco mode burnt more diesel than normal. I measured it across 2000km of driving in both modes doing my daily commute. I put it down to the Eco mode completely killing any performance so it had to be driven harder in Eco to get it moving.

Delivery times?
Just got a phone call from my local dealer. The car has left the port of Emden and should be here in 7 to 10 days. I ordered in mid Jan so that's 8 months from order to delivery, assuming nothing bad happens. It's a 2.0TSi DSG vRS.

Voice control
What drives me mad is my niece is called Laura. Having her in the back and calling her can result in the voice control walking up.

Current Delivery time for Petrol only models?
VRS 245 I assume the build date will slip.

Current Delivery time for Petrol only models?
Well, I ordered in Jan this year and have a build date of last week of October. Realistic that's the new year so at least 12 months.

Variable volume on reversing sensors
No, the audible alert wasn't on too long. I stopped for about 3 to 4 seconds and it was going up and down in that time. Also, the problem fixed itself this morning.....
-
Variable volume on reversing sensors
The volume on the reversing sensors started to change up and down when reversing. I'm not talking about the tone and frequency change the closer you get to an object. If I'm in reverse gear and close to an object and not moving, the volume goes up and down but the frequency/tone doesn't change. Anybody seen this before or have any solutions. Car is a 1.5TSi manual in Style spec

Delivery times?
Just called into my local friendly Skoda Dealer. I got a build week of week 44.

Delivery times?
I'd say VAG are not alone in having delays. It appears to be across the board. A quick Google search has BMW at approx 9 months, Volvo sold out on certain models for 2023, JLR at 6 months minimum and Merc not accepting orders for certain models. Kia, Hyundai and now Renault are bringing out models with limited build options and a limited number of colours. This is to build them quicker and get them to the showrooms. I can see it with my nearest Hyundai dealer that has at least 50 new cars on the forecourt.
