How the MK4 VRs should have really looked?
As a RS owner, that's horrid. It looks like a cross between a Max Power wannabe, Veilside threw stuff at it and a GT3 racer..... From the width of the tyres, you would think a 700hp AWD monster.....

Terrible grip on stock VRS
I've found that once the stock Goodyear are worn a bit, the grip is terrible. Without even trying, I was getting wheelspin on wet/damp roads.

NEW: software 1985
With regard to the AA and the screen getting smaller, icons moving down to the bottom rather than on the side, etc. I had that after upgrade and I found a setting in AA had been enabled that moved the icons, smaller screen, etc. I disabled widgets and it fixed all the issues I had. It was in Android Auto settings, not the Infotainment system settings.

Kessy system, engine not starting
IIRC, the sensor is under the cup holder. I've had that before when I had the keys in the same pocket as an RFID wallet......

Problem with soundaktor in octavia 4 Facelift RS
From reading other threads here, the FL doesn't have one

The usb-c port on the rearview mirror
Some USB cables have a limit on how much current they can carry and won't work if the wattage is too great for the cable

Octavia vRS FL first impressions
The lack of keyless entry on the rear doors would rightly cheese me off. I used it all the time when going up to the car to put the work laptop bag on the back seat or the laptop itself in the rear pocket of the front seat. The sister has an ID4 that doesn't have keyless on the rear doors and she hates it as the kids (being kids) always run up to the car to be first in and then they can't open the door.

vRS Owners, cars with a VAQ front diff, a question on the servicing and what you are being told at Skoda Main Dealerships?
It was the service desk. I'll follow what they recommend as it will always be serviced there. Anyway, we always gotten good service at this dealer for well over the past 14 years with at least 7 cars bought there by family members. They also know I'm fairly awkward and they know NOT to wash my cars......

My local Skoda (and Cupra) dealer said it's not two years but three when dropping the VRS off for it's two year service.

Android Auto Connection Problems - SW version 1969!
I have found that connecting via cable to get AA working, turning the car off with the phone still connected via cable, disconnect the phone and restart the car, most of the time fixes the wireless AA. It happens sometimes after a phone update, meaning issues is with phone and it's updates rather than the car. I'm using a Pixel 6A and all updates on it.

Skoda Connect site shutting down email
I just got an email from Skoda that the Skoda Connect Portal and the My Skoda Essentials is shutting down in July. Just wondering if anyone else got this? I have used the Skoda Connect Portal to retrieve service history. Given VAG's recent history with IT "issues", it would be a shame to loose something that actually works.

Brake sticking after parked for long
Oh I've had that on plenty VAG, Nissan, Fiat after washing or after particularly heavy rain. I also adopted the "Clarkson" cure of the application of power.

Octavia VRS Virtual Speedo numbering
Quite common on VAG. It's done to make it easier to see speeds accurately for speeds below the speed limits.

Matrix Lights - Dazzling oncoming drivers
I think the problem is that drivers are used to seeing the main beam being switched off and seeing the resultant drop in light everywhere. Then when they don't see the massive drop in light everywhere, they think you haven't dipped the lights (even though the matrix has dimmed the light right in front of the other car). I've been flashed a few times and yet I've driven past friends and the did say that the matrix didn't cause them any issues. On the other side, the standard LED (non matrix) headlights are pure crap by comparison having driven them back to back plenty times.

Vrs seating position
I'm just shy of 6 foot and I have the seat about half way on the runner. If I have the seat fully back, I can't depress the pedals enough. I've driven for almost 5 hours straight and hadn't any pains or aches when getting out

Motorway MPG with Petrol vRS
I've found the fuel consumption getting progressively worse after a month or so of short journeys (less than 20km). A long "Italian Tune-up" does wonders. So, there's a benefit of the little fun. At least that's what I tell myself......

Motorway MPG with Petrol vRS
I've gotten as low as 6.5L/100km on a long motorway spin

2024 facelift hopes and dreams
I had hoped for manual climate controls similar to the new Superb. Other than that, minor tweaks. That screen size though.... I'm thinking in 2 years or so ordering as I suspect that'll be the end of the pure petrol VRS. My current bus will be 4 years old at that point.

Thinking of buying a new vRs diesel
Brilliant. Good luck with it!

Dashboard / Interior Doors Cleaning Product?
For very dirty stuff, I've used Built Hamber Surfix diluted down to about 1:50. I've used CarPro Inside also on mild jobs. Both just clean and don't really leave a finish. To finish, CarPro PERL diluted to 1:10. Buff or don't buff then to leave a matt or shiny finish as preference.
