12v Battery
Thanks for reply Ken. The 15 plate £0 tax is stop/start. How do you code a new battery into the car?

Rust around fuel filler door
Wife and I each have a CitiGo, 8.5 years and 7 years old. No signs on the outside of the car fuel filler of rust. I have cleaned the under side of the filler of road dirt etc, less on the older car, but not a lot on either. Jet washed and dried. This summer I hope to treat the area and spray with Dinitrol.

700 + mile tank range citigo ?
Amazing mpg, well done. Just a few days after I got my 2015 CitiGo wife and I did a 160 mile return journey to Anglesey to pick up her 63 plate CitiGo and the PID showed 69.x mpg which I was very pleased with. I thought I may be able to get over 70mpg in better conditions, but now I have bigger aims. I hyper miled my gen4 Prius hybrid and got 92.6 on a 100 mile journey, and 96.x on a 50 mile journey, many times in 80+ mpg, pleased with them figures.

Just done car Service.
I was trying it on one of the new plugs. Perhaps I am too cautious (gentle) when I could be a bit more forceful. Will have another go.

Falco, thanks for the info and video. Unclipped all 6 coil packs (2x CitiGo’s), and managed to lift the rubber connectors. So now I know I can do it. I bought a long thin wall 16mm plug socket,I think the rubber insert is stopping it fit over the hexagon on the plug so not changed the plugs yet. roottoot, thanks for the info, I was thinking it’s always best to check gaps. I did order from a place that specified for the up/CitiGo/Mii, but I will still check. I also cleaned out the area beneath the plastic windscreen wiper cowling of leaves and rotting debris, left and right both cars. Not a lot really, but done it, it’s so simple I can do annually and it should be ok. I don’t park under trees at home, so shouldn’t be too much debri.

Makes an interesting read Falco, thanks for that. Question… when you buy new spark plugs, is the gap set correctly or do they need adjustment? I bought 2 sets of Bosch plugs for our two CitiGo cars, but cannot get the coil pack off them never mind pulling up straight.

Skoda insurance
That sounds a good deal. During July our 2 CitiGo’s are due for insurance renewal. We have been with LV for a number of years, but last year we went on a “family” policy with LV, but they were bigger cars (a Prius and Auris, both hubbrids). I will be checking the cash back site you mention too.

Citigo added to the family garage.
Thanks for that info above Steve, that explains a lot. Most of our journeys are knocking around locally but we going on holiday this year to east Yorkshire and then North Yorkshire, so may get to tell the difference on those lovely hills they have.

Alloy Wheels Stuck
Saturday afternoon, 7th May, I took drivers side wheel off to have another go. The 2 slider pins released easy this time.....I did spray some Silicon grease which must have helped. However the screw holding the brake disc on still would not budge, even though I found my impact driver (not used that for what must 40 years). The discs and pads are not too bad, similar to the other citigo and they really didnt need changing either. Will leave it to the end of summer and get it done. I might take the wheels off the front and clean/grease the slider pins both sides......keep them free moving.

NEW Citigo owner & PID
Having that link to instructions has already benefitted me. I have all my favourite cd’s and LP’s on USB but I don’t have usb in the CitiGo. When I bought the Garmin PID I didn’t notice the micro SD card slot. Instructions told me about it, copied all my music from USB to micro SD and now have my favourites at hand. Lots to learn. Pity it still not available for updates.

Anyone got instructions to use the Garmin PID circa 2015.??? I am using it but instructions may mean I can use it more meaningfully, especially the sat nav.

Alloy Wheels Stuck
Got it, thanks for the reminder

Alloy Wheels Stuck
Ok, I will use the extendable bar I use to loosen wheel nuts. I will give it a go, if I can get the drivers side bits undone I am plain sailing cause I know the near side will loosen.

Alloy Wheels Stuck
Thanks for the additional info. I might have another go on Friday (next day free, and I am retired!) Any suggestions re the slider pins???

Alloy Wheels Stuck
Did what you said, Ken, this morning. Worked a treat. Both wheels became unstuck. Thanks. Problem then became loosening the single screw holding the disc on, also the 2 sliders, they are very tight. Did the wife’s CitiGo and they were fine, but I couldn’t move these, so I just cleaned up the mating faces, and it the wheel back. On the near side these 3 threaded items loosened ok. Difficult when one is kneeling/lying on a tarpoliun. The job for both sides of the car will now go to my local mechanic who is just 100 yards away. Enjoyed the experience, and thank you to all with suggestions.

Alloy Wheels Stuck
Got a CitiGo with alloy wheels. Came to take one of the front ones off today (changing discs and pads), but I cannot break the stiction between the alloy wheel and the disc hub. Any ideas would be welcome.

NEW Citigo owner & PID
You got no petrol gauge either. My CitiGo has revcounter on the left and fuel gauge on the right. I bought a used Garmin PID off eBay, it’s shows Skoda on boot up but I understand that is the only difference between UP/CitiGo/Mii. YES, the Garmin does show water temp and revs side by side. It is also a sat nav, and a screen that shows instantaneous mpg, journey mpg, average speed and other such like info, and also a screen that shows radio/cd/aux info. I still finding out more info, I only had my car for less than a month and the wife even less on hers.

skoda citigo can't get reverse
Seven years on…… are owners still experiencing this “problem”. Having just bought a Citigo for each of us, I sure am going to have a problem teaching the wife what to do to circumvent the problem. or, has nothing been said over the last 7 years because everyone knows how to sort it.?

Skoda Citigo SE (2013) - PID compatability?
Maybe I didn’t make it too clear. I know map updates have ceased. what I don’t know is….. have I got the latest update that is available. And if not, how can I get it.

Skoda Citigo SE (2013) - PID compatability?
I bought a used Garmin paid off EBay for £158, works fine on out two CitiGo’s. Thing is I don’t know how old the map is, I read somewhere the update is only available in the VW website and I can’t find it. When I say update, I understand they stopped couple years ago, but if my map is older than that I would like to update to the last they did. Anyone know any more info.???
