  1. I'm sorry I can't be as intelligent as you.
  2. I loved mine until it was written off (not my fault) 😭, and I also loved this forum, very pleasant and knowledgeable people, I am on another forum as I did not buy another Skoda, what a bunch miserable sods, I've posted questions on there but nobody replies, a lot of people have read them and only one single reply, and didn't answer my counter reply, there has been questions on there for weeks never answered.
  3. Try pulling fuse 35 5Amp that is for the alarm.
  4. Car going next week, insurance offered me just over £3,000 for the car I thought that was a reasonable price, just for curiosity i went on webuyanycar and that came back with a valuation of £1,425, and I've looked on autotarader and one's with similar milage sell for between £1,500 & £2,000 ish, plus it's done more damage than first thought it's pushed the front bumper forward and ripped it off the mounts, didn't notice that until yesterday when I was taking accessories off I had fitted. Getting another car next week but sadly won't be a Skoda, going for an automatic, I've had the Skoda for 10 years covered 85,000 miles and enjoyed looking after it. So as they say a new chapter awaits.
  5. My loved Skoda was ran into yesterday, I wasn't in it it was parked up on the road, a van ran into the back of another car that was pushed into mine, it wasn't nice coming back to the car and see all the mess, at least I got all the details off the other drivers, in the hands of the insurers now, she will be a write off as it has pushed the back wing in, don't know what will happen next or if I will get another Skoda, I gave it a full service last weekend as well, so this may be my last post.
  6. Does anyone know what the symbol in the middle of the display between the clocks mean?. I think it started off with the number 12 and it's gradually counting down, I think it must be something to do with servicing, it comes on when first turning the ignition on, then after a few secs goes off. Hoping it's not a countdown to destruction lol!.
  7. When I had it done the car was 5 years old with just over nine thousand miles, now the car has eighty five thousand miles with still the original clutch.
  8. Mine was remapped when I had the egr and dpf delete I was told to 150 hp, did make a big difference that was 10 years ago I have not had any problems, apart from when the egr was deleted they closed the egr electronically and did not fit a blanking plate at the throttle body, after about 5 years the egr opened up and caused all sorts of problems.
  9. This is what i found. Bleeding sequence 1 -Front left brake caliper 2 -Front right brake caliper 3 -Rear left brake caliper 4 -Rear right brake caliper As above if you let the fluid levels drop too low then you need VCDS/Diagnostics to put the ABS into "service" mode to properly bleed the air out.
  10. Thank you everyone for your very interesting input, certainly something to consider.
  11. Just called my local VAG repair shop about having my brake fluid changed, I also asked if they did the clutch as well they said no, as they have had problems in the past when changing the fluid for the clutch, such as slave cylinders needing changing after they have done it. What are your thoughts on this, is it a problem and does the fluid really need changing for the clutch?. Thanks.
  12. It could still be a bulb that is faulty, it's best to scan it with a OBD reader that will tell you where the problem is rather than just changing things blindly.
  13. There is no need to run wires over the top of the dash, if you pull up the top vent in the middle of the dash you can put the gps antenna under there with some double sided tape, it will still pick up satellites with no problem that's where I fitted mine.
  14. I notice that the picture you are showing is a 4 stud wheel bearing, as your car is a 1.6 it should be a 3 stud bearing, my car is a 1.6 and that is a 3 stud, I fitted a Febi on not had any problems.
  15. You need to check the wiring that goes from the car body to the door in that rubber hose it's most likely a broken wire common - ish well documented on here, check that first.
  16. We have seen the before pics how about some after one's, so we can see the difference. Good find!.
  17. Been to my friends garage this morning put the car on the ramp, had a good check of the rear suspension nothing found, so going to try wiilydog suggestion of the rear top mount, although when I changed the bump stops because they had disintegrated I checked them then but that was about six months ago, ordered top mounts going to do them tomorrow.
  18. Just checked the back box, no it's not that, I have a friend that runs a garage I will give him a call tomorrow see if he will have a look for me with it on the ramp. Will report back if he finds anything.
  19. Hi, I have a slight knocking on the rear suspension I think it's the N/S/R, what's the most common thing for it to be?, I have changed the drop links and the bump stops on the shock absorbers, had a good look round can't see anything obvious, any ideas?. Cheers.
  20. Didn't seem to harm my DPF. Anyway another thing you could try is carbon cleaning, that is done from the air intake it was quite a big thing not so long back, check around your local garages see if any of them do that.
  21. That's the air intake you need to clean the exhaust side of the turbo, that's the part that can get gummed up, someone may come up with a simpler method but what I did was unscrewed the oxygen sensor on top of the DPF, used a piece of brake pipe bent it towards the turbo and used the nozzle from the Mr. muscle to get it into the turbo, left it half an hour put the sensor back and started the engine, seemed to work that won't clean the EGR.
  22. Remanufactured injectors are also a fortune, one of my injectors went faulty and to get a remanufactured one was almost £400 how much new one's are I Dred to think esp from Skoda. My advice is if it ain't broke don't fix it.
  23. So I bought one of these stereos and I am really pleased with it, the same that you bought Scouserjay but not from Ebay off Amazon TomTom works ok and so does the DAB, got to try Android auto yet, had it going in no time I knew about the two pin plug that needed to be disconnected after fitting the canbus, for a cheap Chinese unit I like it.
  24. Ok I see well I'm no auto electrician so I can't help you with the problem, there are a lot of very knowledgeable people on here that may be able to help. Sorry.
  25. Have you checked the relay? do you have a multi meter if you say the car is ok when you bypass it, it could be faulty.
