Sorry, you are right. I also have offset values as 0 in live data. What you are looking for is "Horizontal angle reference segment left, in angular minutes". And the same for right. In my case for example it 36 and 24 minutes accordingly. This is the value you need to provide during basic settings of matrix. I think it shows angle between headlight axis (which might differ slightly depending on how it was installed to the chasis, as there is some adjustment) and camera axis. Based on that computer can calculate which segments to switch off when camera sees a car in particular position.

To be honest i don't know. Was under impression that offset data should be there all the time, but haven't checked really. I always do it in my garage, where anyway lights are turning on automatically. You can try to backup again with lights on, and let us know.

I have linked topic from OBD11 forums here. You need to create backup of control module, and than you can find calibration info in "live data" within the backup. Write it down, so later on you can type it in when doing basic settings after the coding. That's the short version More details in the link above. This will work granted you do it PRIOR to any coding, otherwise you will lose calibration data, and this is when dealership visit is indeed needed.

No. You can backup you calibration settings, and enter them later on, after coding. No need to Skoda service. Unless you have changed your physical lights position that is

I like 408, but i wouldn't get it. Poor engine choice, has a smaller boot and is more expensive. But to be honest i could live with smaller boot, if 180HP PHEV would cost similar to 1.5 O4.

Fortunately O4 is not bad in this regard. That's actually one of the reasons i chose O4 over Superb, where driving position is much lower. O4 is somewhere in between SUV's and Superb (and other similar cars). It's not as comfy to get in or out as SUV, but good enough for me. On the other hand because it's lower, fuel consumption and ride comfort is better.

So let me get this straight. You don't like sound of O4 only because it's supposed to be "performance model", but you don't mind exactly same sound in Kodiaq? Makes perfect sense... Don't know what you are getting, but most Kodiaqs i know have ACC. Anyway you clearly had some issue with your, probably just needed calibration. Had (and driven) quite many cars with ACC and none tried to kill me, including my O4. Not really. Difference between 190HP and 245HP is not that high. Kodiaq will consume more just because of it's 4x4 and mostly aerodynamics. Been there, done that (although not with 2.0, just 1.5 in O4 and SUV) so i have comparison. If you're buying new, than you might not know. FL Kodiaq uses mostly same electronics and systems as O4 (MIB3, assistant systems etc.).

In Kodiaq this engine doesn't sound any better. It can be coded, but default behavior in Kodiaq will be the same i think. Haven't had such issues, my ACC works ok. But again - in Kodiaq you have exactly same system. I would expect Kodiaq to consume 20-30% more than O4. I'm not defending your O4 here. It's pretty subjective, but i understand your feelings about this car. My point is, that you're changing O4 to Kodiaq, which is based on exactly same platform and tech, so at least some of the issues you had with O4 will also be present in Kodiaq. You probably should've look at some other brands.

@fistach and how did it look before on Swing? Was it wider, and car controls bar(s) in different position, or...? In Columbus it didn't change THAT much, except that there's now a bit more possibilities (better control of layout, some additions in app widgets, like additional screen with favorites in music player, static phone button). Change for better from my perspective. I also like it better than before on different screens (like your Swing or Pioneer headunit in my wife's car). At least there's now music player widget. Well, not entirely true... Whole processing is done on the phone side, so yes, performance of AA depends on the phone. But you are right, that AA is also at fault. It adds additional load to the phone, so even flagship phones can lag. However the more powerfull phone is, the more smooth AA is.

This update is enabled by Google on the server side, probably per account. That's why you have it on one phone, but not other. AA version is not that important (as long as it's 8.6 or higher), same goes for headunit firmware - not important. Those who do not have it can only wait till Google will enable it, and no one knows what is the key here, as ir seems very random.

Just for comparison, before O4 i had Seat Ateca 1.5 TSI DSG, so exactly same drive (except for mHEV, which i have in O4). On average Ateca consumed 30% more fuel. For example highway, 140kph is 6,5 l/100km in O4 and 8,5-9 in Ateca. It's mostly about aerodynamics. As for Leon, FR would definitely be hard-ride. I was in love of the handling for first year of ownership. Next three years i was stressed when a saw i pothole... Given how many boxes O4 ticked for me, choice is hard. I would probably consider Corolla estate. Don't like the looks of it, but it's a good car in general. Was also considering CLA Merc. Loved the looks of it, and it's also really nice car. Thing is, that it's MAYBE 5% better, but 50% more expensive. And less spacious inside.

I have this one, although it's called "Fitcamx". Well, looks good, that i can say. Also camera quality is rather ok. App is not really good, and as it has no display, you either have to connect to camera's wifi and use the app, or remove SD card and take it home. Not so convenient. Also it doesn't have GPS, so info is very limited (no speed recored etc.). Would i buy it again? Hard to say. If i had USB port next to the mirror, definitely not, i would go with something from better brand. But not having the port it's... ok. No additional wiring needed, installation is rather simple and looks good. Do i recommended? Don't really know

With SUVs you need to consider much higher fuel consumption. If that's not an issue Tucson may be a good choice. As for Leon - don't do it to yourself. Used to drive 2014 Leon FR. All in all was a nice car, but had few essential issues for me. Stiff suspension, not at all comfy (i know it's FR and Xcelence is a bit softer, but still nothing like O4), a LOT of tire noise, even at 50kph, and low driving position (it was nice when driving, but nightmare when getting in or out). Drove new Leon, and all of those issues are still there + a new one. Don't know what they did, but driving position is strange. I couldn't find a position in which my back would not hurt. Never seen anything like that in any other car, including previous Leon.

Should be rather easy to fix, but takes time to get to it.

Well, answering point by point: Can understand that. I did this to my O4 and it's better, than it was before my work. You're only doing door trim more or less, and by dampening the doors and adding some acoustic foam it will get more quiet. Not only audio is better, but less rattles and less noise inside overall. Disagree with that. Haven't heard O4 Canton, but have heard Karoq Canton. Just replacing the speakers, still using factory amp built in the head unit, brought the air and very good sound stage. Adding amp with DSP (Axton A592DSP in my case, but may well be something else) gives you much better control than Canton DSP (31 band EQ, time allignment, phase etc.). And it improves things even further. Also center speaker is there, just haven't replaced it, and it's still powered by HU. But i would remove it, if it wasn't needed for some things, like SOS. It's doesn't really bring any added value to the sound quality. Me neither and i don't like subs in general. And in Canton (or any VAG "premium" system) subs are needed. I got very good bass, with very good control and extension without a sub, by replacing the speakers and amp. For me it's much, MUCH better than what i've heard in Karoq Canton or had in Ateca Beats Sound System with subs. Not arguing with that Just saying similar or better result can be achieved in other ways, bringing additional benefits like less road noise (i was actually surprised to see how much tyre and suspension noise is coming through the doors - it's much more quiet now). But i understand you might not want to do that. With my 2 previous cars i also didn't touch it. Now done it in O4 and... kind of regret i haven't done it earlier But that's just my point of view I wanted to add, that "fortunately we have a choice", but seems like Skoda deprived us of at least one option to chose from 😞

Well, it's not really for me, was just thinking how we could help @PrimeTime I'm pretty sure there are some TPI's, that would include some hints on how to force them to upgrade Swing, but i don't have access to any.

@varooom stupid question maybe, but is Swing using same versions as Bolero and Columbus? If so, easiest (and safest) way would be to report some issue, that is included in TPI requiring upgrade to 1896. For me it was not saving favorites in sat-nav, which of course is not possible here. But i'm sure some issue to report can be found, after which they should upgrade according to TPI.

Canton been out for a long time now. They claim it's cause of chip shortages, and at the moment this option is only available for Superb and Kodiaq. Question is, if this will be leased/company car, or are you buying as private person. If the latter one, than just replace the speakers and add some amp. Will cost similar or a bit more than Canton, but will sound better.

That sound promising. So ask them to check for any updates for Canton amp. I have basic system (upgraded ) and haven't had "no sound at all" issues, so this is something that might be due to Canton (same as not remembering settings and strange, loud noise some are experiencing). Which makes me wonder, how were they able to mess up something as simple, as amplifier firmware? Ok, i know it's not that simple when DSP is involved, but there's plenty of "of the shelf" solution that work. I mean DSP chips, that are very easy to work with from SW point of view. But probably they were 2 cents more expensive per car

Have they updated because of that issue, or something else? If it was because of that issue, tell them it's still not fixed, and ask if they can check if there's a new amplifier firmware available.

I'm not saying it's a bad thing to drive older car, and repair Beetles from the 50's. I'm just saying, that if no one would be buying new cars, than there would be very limited choice of old cars to buy. Just think of Cuba for example My wife is driving 2013 Ibiza, bought used. So no, i have nothing against buying used cars. What is the attraction? For me there are 3. 1. I'm getting a car with all new bells and whistles, which i really like. 2. There's a less chance, that in new car you will have some big and expensive failure, say, engine. 3. Having new, i know what i can expect and how car was used and maintained during it's whole life. Fortunately i haven't had any major issues with my new car, so in most cases warranty repairs were done during regular servicing. So dealing with delarship was not an issue for ME. At least not more of an issue, than dealing with some other mechanics. With used car thing is, that it's getting harder and harder to get a good car, that been maintained properly and is really in good condition. If i would be able to buy a car from someone like... me or some forum members, i would consider. But otherwise it's a lottery.

So maybe just think of it so, that we are buying new cars, so that you can later on buy used one from us. Otherwise we would all be repairing Beetles from the 50's

I know it's annoying and frustrating. Thing is, that currently all manufacturers are using users as beta testers. It's not only Skoda. If your solution is "no more Skoda...", than the same thing goes to whole VAG. And Kia/Hyundai. And so on. Probably each forum contains similar posts now. Users have software and/or "hardware" issues, some are lucky to have good dealership and issues are solved, some are less lucky and their issues are dimissed. It goes for all brands, including so called "premium" cars. All we can do is fight and/or change dealership (or brand, but only if you know it's dealership nearby is providing better services, and i do not mean free coffee ).
