Fitting aftermarket towbar
I had a Skoda towbar and electrics fitted by the selling dealer to my nearly new 2022 Karoq when I bought it about a year ago. I was all ready to get an aftermarket fit but the dealer-fitted price was very competitive and came with the added value of the electrically operated drop down hitch. Not to mention the very neat arrangement for the 13 pin socket and also the trailer turning angle indicator (the lattet a bit of a gimmick). Mine is a 2.0 petrol engined 4x4 so uprated cooling didn't come into it. Towed a heavy traditional boat and trailer home for 200+ miles keeping a close eye on the temp gauge. Rock steady all the way whether fast/slow and hilly/flat. DSG and cruise a delight when towing. One of the few dealer fitted genuine accessories which is good value for money IMO.

Updating the infotainment system
I've got a long journey to make after Christmas so hopefully I'll see some results after that.

Updating the infotainment system
I'm pretty sure it's for all. When I entered my VIN, it gave maps and radio and also told me no other software required updating.

Updating the infotainment system
Latest experience on my 2022 Karoq: Some 697 (!) files extracted onto PC from zip file downloaded from Skoda's update webpages. These were then copied on to a 128Gb USB3 stick which has now been left connected to the car for past two days. USB stick definitely recognised as Mirrorlink connection is offered! Still no notifications in pull down menu and my wife got 'software update available' message during short journey yesterday but ignored it. Appears to be nothing updated yet.

Why don't you try the link above that @johnboy60 posted?

Changing trailer lights from filament bulbs to LED - problems?
I was merely responding to a broad brush statement which is not 100% accurate! There was no mention of Yeti in your post.

Updating the infotainment system
Thanks @kodiaqsportline , your info has been really helpful. @johnboy60's link requests the VIN and, when I enter mine, gives me a download link for maps and also for radio icons. There is also a field on the page which states that no other software updates are required at the moment. I'm hoping that by using a USB stick for this update (202345) it will load the OTA update feature you have described. I'm also hoping that once the update has finished, the pull down notification section will be populated. We shall see. A screenshot's an excellent idea. I'll try to remember to take one before and after this update. Having gone to all this trouble, it will be interesting to see if the installed SatNav becomes any more accurate and user-friendly. Google Maps via Android Auto has been a life-saver for my wife and I and it may well be that we never go back. It was interesting that the selling dealer's Sales Manager rather ruefully admitted that he never used the installed system on his car!

Updating the infotainment system
Well, as a retired IT professional, either I'm losing the plot or there's something pretty odd going on with my Karoq. I keep getting a message 'software update available' with two screen button options 'OK or 'cancel'. When I press OK the software update screen shows nothing and if I open the drop down menu selecting each option (ie radio, system, other, etc) still shows nothing on the main screen. I have waited for 20 mins with ignition and engine on and still nothing happens. Following some of @kodiaqsportline's posts I've also tried pulling down the Notification / Favourites screen and this shows no messages at all in the Notification section. I therefore decided to start at the beginning and check the data signals available at the vehicle - not usually an issue on my drive. I carried out some tests: (i) Attepted software update using the normal factory-fitted e-sim data connection. Note that I do not have a Skoda Connect subscription in force but this should not be necessary for free updates. The LED adjacent to the SOS buttone remains green. In-car screen remains blank as described above. (ii) De-selected e-SIM and tried using a mobile hotspot from my phone which had full 4G signal inside the car at this location. No change from (i) (iii) De-selected e-SIM and tried my home Wifi connection instead - not that strong a signal on my drive but still usable. Still no change from (i). So, am I being really stupid? What am I missing? I'm pretty sure there is a data signal available via the e-SIM whatever the status of any paid-for subscription. Is there a go-to web page / location where I can check latest software versions against VIN number and/or definitive instructions for OTA updating? Any thoughts most welcome.

Updating the infotainment system
Many thanks for this. I'd more or less given up searching the web (and this forum) as I was having so little success and therefore had come to the conclusion that Skoda were only interested in forcing people to pay an annual subscription or dealer hourly rates. I guess I've been using the wrong search terms. To be fair, Skoda's own online information gives the distinct impression that those two options were the only way. To discover mine is MIB3 is a revelation! One of the downsides of buying a used car is the almost complete lack of interest by the dealer's sales staff. They simply do not know (or care) what they're selling. But thanks again, I'll start another search with renewed enthusiasm!

Changing trailer lights from filament bulbs to LED - problems?
I have dealer-fitted towbar electrics on my 2022 Karoq and LED trailer lights work fine. Certainly no bulb failure warnings. I also have the electrically-powered hitch which is a boon. The retrofitted towbar system was one of the few dealer-fitted packages that was good value for money.

Spent about an hour(!) looking when I first had the car. Never found one either.

So, do you have an SD card slot somewhere?

Updating the infotainment system
Sorry I can't help but do you know which infortainment system you have? I'm in a similar position. I have a 2022 Karoq Sportline which was bought used from a Skoda dealer. Mine keeps telling me that there is a software update available but the screen goes blank if I select OK. I refused to pay the renewal to Skoda Connect mid-year so, like yours it's not connected. Is this my problem or should it do it when in range of my home wifi and/or mobile data connected via bluetooth? I have a Columbus infortainment system - I think! If not it's an Amundsen. Either way, There are no SD card slots. There are however two USB Cs. As usual, the owners' manual is useless.

Kodiaq warning lights after flat battery
Forgive my ignorance but how does one do a 'full clear' or even individual controllers? Do you need VDRS ( or whatever the correct name is)?

Kodiaq warning lights after flat battery
Simple answer is that I don't know as I'm a new Skoda owner too. But, it's worth giving them a ring - they can only say no! I would argue that you have multiple lights showing and you're not happy driving like that as you don't know if you really have a problem or not. It's part of the warranty so I believe we should be entitled to it. Let us know how you get on. Good Luck.

Kodiaq warning lights after flat battery
One last thought. Do you have the MySkoda app? If so, select 'Inspect' and the middle of three windows is 'Vehicle Health Report'. This showed I had one unspecified fault ( no b use, I know) but at least I knew the diagnostics had found something. This was with my OBDII reader showing no fault codes in the ECU at the same time. Now my fault has cleared the same MySkoda window shows 'We have not found a defect'. Might help if you call out Roadside Assistance or contact the dealer.

Kodiaq warning lights after flat battery
Is the Auto Hill Start still working or is the warning light correct? I know it's not the same model but I had a whole lot of warning lights come the other day on my Karoq for no apparent reason when it was parked on my drive. Couldn't get them to go out for more than 24 hours and was about to call out Roadside Assist when I decided to take it for short local journey to see whether I really did not have power steering ( the warning that really worried me). Blow me, after less than 100 yards, I stopped, auto hill start came on and everything went back to normal. It defies logic I know but that's what happened! The only thing I can think may have caused it was having the key fob in my pocket with other keys which caused the remote unloocked button to be pressed for about 30 seconds. I only realised the remote had been operated when I found everything unlocked and all windows open.

Wireless Charging
I was told that face-lifted Sportline Karoqs have black exterior trim on the front wheel arches. I only discovered this when trying to buy front and rear mudflaps. Mine is pre face-lift but the Skoda database gave the wrong front mudflap part number against my VIN (rears are same part number for both). Fortunately my non-main dealer parts supplier spotted the error and asked for external photos to check. Neither of the earlier photos shows this - which potentially means there will be an annoying recess if front mudflaps are fitted to the 'new' one - unless I'm missing something obvious...........

Wireless Charging
My 2022 Sportline Karoq does NOT have the virtual cockpit but it does have wireless charging under the sliding panel forward of DSG gear selector. It is not very obvious - just looks like a rubber mat - but we've tested it on my wife's Samsung (my Samsung is newer but without wireless charging capability). I've bought a short USB charging cable for mine which works perfectly and means I don't have manouvre my phone into the confined space.

Converting Karoq SE-L with space saver spare wheel to full-size spare wheel
I think it depends whether you have a 4x2 or 4x4 as the floor plan below the boot is shallower on the 4x4 to accommodate the Haldex unit. I have bought the spacesaver wheel kit for my 2022 Sportline 4x4 which includes a new boot floor and raises the level as it sits on the wheel and moulded compartments around the wheel for the jack etc. I'm away at the moment without my Karoq so I'll try to remember to post a couple of photos next week.

Soon to be new owner, a question
I share your unease and when I bought my Karoq 4x4 just after Christmas, one of the first things I did was to buy a space saver. There are a couple of fairly comprehensive threads about this on this forum already so it's worth searching for them first. Just be aware that the spare wheel well on a 4x4 is shallower than on a 4x2 so you will have more choice than I did. If memory serves correct, you will be able to fit a space saver easily as is but I believe it is also possible to have a full size spare with the boot floor slighly raised in 4x2.

Problem with selecting Driving Modes, other than Normal.
My 2022-built 2.0 petrol DSG certainly does. Frightened the daylights out of me when I first spotted the rev counter drop like a stone in Lane 3 of the M3! Yes, I know, I should have read the manual before driving any distance.......

This is a brilliant find! In all my years of owning cars, I've never seen this simple tool before.
