  1. If your scuttle cover is faded give it a spray with silicone lubricant. It brings back the colour.
  2. Progress is a bit slow as every job a start leads to another job, delaying the one I originally started. I just replaced both petrol tank straps. One was really badly rusted. The other may have cleaned up, but they are not that dear to buy new so I just replaced them
  3. Finally managed to track down some of the road marker crayons that caused this mess. That another piece ticked off the list.
  4. As per every Haynes manual, just do the reverse.
  5. On of the officers that drove it said it was sent back to Farmers Skoda, Leicestershire for servicing and maintenance. But since it left service its has all sorts of mods and mapping. That's what I'm in the middle of reversing.
  6. Agree, Stage 1 would be a sensible compromise. I'll do some investigation.
  7. I was told my car has a stage 2 map on it but I have no proof. It did have a large bore exhaust and ram air filter. I've not checked the Injectors yet. I've gradually been returning my car back to stock, and would like the ecu checked and flashed back to original factory spec. Can this be done via the obd port or is it an ecu out job? Can anyone recommend a company down south that could do it? I'm near QST but haven't contacted them yet. I'd rather get a recommendation. Thanks.
  8. Nice one Dean. I believe the small text in the corner is the code for the supplier of the plates, so it varies. I'm not worried about that. Would you be able to send me a file with the artwork so that I could get some plates made up? Thanks for you help. 👍🏻
  9. Great. Thanks. You did well to find those 👍🏻
  10. Does anyone have a car supplied by Farmers Skoda, Leicester with the original number plates still fitted? If so could you post a picture as I'd like to recreate the dealer plates for mine. Thanks.
  11. And the original radio, a Cleartone CM9000. This will not be operational, but I will try to wire it up just so it can be turned on to light up the display. Its not permanently fitted in these pics as I still need access to the wiring behind it.
  12. Finished off putting the interior back in. Fitting the original spec mag light torch and charger and the radio handset and cradle. Both mounted back in their original positions using the original mounting holes.
  13. Nice to know another one is still on the road. Do you have any pics of it now or when it was in service?
  14. Forgot I had this wanted thread. Car sourced, you can follow my progress here :
  15. Another piece of original police equipment sourced and fitted. It's the steering column mounted PTT (push to talk) button, made by a company called Sepura. Its used in conjuction with a mic and when pushed it allows the driver to speak on the cars police radio. (the mic should also mount on the shroud where the small white square is in the picture) The original mounting holes were still in the steering column shroud and lined up perfectly with my replacement
  16. I'm back working on the car. First job as to swap the steering wheel. The original one was totally worn out. I managed to find a nice replacement. Also noticed that the metal bracket inside the steering wheel is date stamped.
  17. I know this is an old thread, but even though Euroflo list this part number they do not actually manufacture this part (I spoke to them today) The only option for a standard box is Skoda original at £243.09+vat (part no 1U0 253 609A) 😳 You can get an aftermarket centre section for anything between £30-£50 delivered, a genuine centre section is £138.34+vat. (part no 1J0 253 209 Q) I didn't dare ask for the price of the front cat downpipe after I was told the price of the clamps at £21.72 and £28.80 + vat. These are retail prices. There is a small discount if you have a TPS account.
  18. It's the ex Nottinghamshire Police car reg FD54 JFO It was still a standard looking car about 4 years ago, but then was subjected to various modifications and the engine went pop. The for sale ad was on FB yesterday in one of the Octavia groups, I'll see if I can find it.
  19. As they are getting older they very rarely come up for sale. That one in Nottingham has had a harder life then this one, and saying something!
  20. Would you mind sharing how much this cost. I'm sure last time I priced it up it was over £400.
  21. Just offering up the lightbar to check I have the correct length mounting straps. I need to strip the lightbar down to check it over and make some changes inside so that the POLICE signs luminate.
  22. I've got a set of original mats to put in so hopefully save it a bit
  23. And the same carpet after a scrub and a jet wash. Didn't come up too bad.
