  1. Can anybody tell me what year the VRS stop having the red stitched flat bottomed steering wheel, with flappy paddles please.
  2. From memory on the front yes but on the rear no.
  3. I've changed all my discs and pads recently. I put drilled discs on the front and standard on the back with EBC greenstuff pads all round. I'm impressed with the results, it's like a big hand grabbing the car from behind and pulling it to a stop.
  4. You can do it yourself for around half the price the garage are quoting or even less.
  5. I cured low speed creaking noise with new suspension top mounts. I also found the suspension was to wallowy and the front shocks at 35k misting (although a week later one was leaking) In the end I lowered it slightly and fitted blistein shocks (so it technically the B12 set up) the front drop links also appear to be made of cheese and are not even solid so these were replaced also. All in all the creaking has gone and it rides much better, however even the new top mounts appear to be a feeble design being part plastic.
  6. The worn parts can be replaced in situ, I bought the following from AliExpress. Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out! īŋĄ20.69 10%OFF | For Skoda Octavia Superb Fabia Yeti DSG Gear Shift Knob Leather Side Cover Interior Parts Accessories https://a.aliexpress.com/_mqp2npM
  7. Hi Sorry for the late reply. It fitted really well, pop the vent and ashtray out and there is a couple of torx screws top and bottom. When fitting the new on I only put the top two torx in because I had inadvertently fitted the cubby/usb's into the frame. This was really tight to fit into the frame and didn't fancy trying to fit it with the surround already in place, still it's nice and secure with just the two screws. Here's the link. 8. Today I fitted An Ali Express rear centre console usb set up and a nice new black with redstiching DSG gear lever boot.
  9. Are there any thicker ARB's from the VAG group that can be directly swapped on to my Octavia with a trailing arm set up. I've seen a couple of threads but couldn't find one talking about the above type of set up.
  10. I think I may have to take it out for DSG peace of mind mainly. I'm not worried about shocks etc, I've recently changed the fronts and the top mounts as the had both given up the ghost at 37k đŸ˜ŗ I'll continue to do an interim oil change myself and the same with brakes. This thread has given me some good advice 👍
  11. Do you mean gearbox oil change? I did ask my local dealer about gearbox oil changes and he reckoned it was sealed for life 🤔
  12. Being new to Skoda's I wouldn't know which car had which.
  13. Mine is not covered by any warranty at the moment and thankfully I have no leaks.
  14. Thanks, I had been wondering about purchasing this warranty as I use the car for work.
  15. Old thread I know and if you want one of these trays, I could only get one from the Czech Republic (and it was pricey) Anyway, I don't like being beaten and I figured out how to fit the spring clips supplied. To remove the side supports first off you have to remove the small panel directly above it, lift the boot seal and you will be able to lever it off with a screwdriver (other leverage tools are available 😀) it's only held on with a couple of clips and some locating tabs at the bottom. With the panel out of the way you should be able to see a Torx screw, remove that with a T20 torx bit. The rest of the panel is held on with a couple of spring clips, one at the end nearest the hatch and one inset at the furthest point inwards and it clips to the inside of the C pillar. You will need to gently pull away the top of the plastic panels next to the rear seat as the shelf support is tucked behind it, with this moved slightly out of the way the side support should now be free to wiggle/lever free however you will still have the release cable attach and the seat belt running through the panel. There's no need to try and remove either of these, just gain your self a bit of slack on the seat belt and you can tip the panel ove enough to insert the parts for the shelf. The little silver piece of metal just pushes straight into place but with the spring clip, pay attention to the picture in their diagram supplied, it needs to be the right way round. It will drop loosely in the space and you need to then apply upward pressure to push the flat plastic piece up and over the surface it was sitting on. I hope this makes sense if anybody is still looking to do it, I've added a few pictures which will hopefully give a bit more clarity.
  16. Dammit I came to this thread hoping to find the answer to removing those parcel shelf side supports ☚ī¸
  17. I haven't no but I'll go searching for it, thank you 👍
  18. I need to go and measure it again, it's 110mm long but cannot remember the depth, I think it's likely it will be their one that measures 111mm 🤔
  19. Sounds like they declared it as a gift on the customs form as you don't normally pay duty on items less than ÂŖ135. I'm planning on buying a few things to be shipped over, I don't know how shipping works from their side but if they all end up boxed together then I will end up paying duty.
  20. Still new to Skodas, do I need to check the type of plug on the camera kit before ordering or can I get away with just measuring the rear boot handle for the correct replacement?
  21. Hi. I have an Octavia 69 plate Sportline that I felt sat too high and seemed generally wobbly and poor ride over uneven surfaces. First all I tried to improve the ride by fitting a set of 30mm lowering springs which made the car sit nicely without looking too low and was nice round bends etc but still terrible over uneven surfaces. I bit the bullet and bought a set of Blistein B8 dampers which have the same gas pressure as the B6's but have a shorter telescopic damper for use with lowering springs, as I already have the lowering springs I technically now have the B12 kit fitted to the car. My top mounts were shot (after 35k 🙄) so these were replaced along with the front droplinks that looked like they were made of cheese! The difference is night and day! OK it's a firmer ride but it's not uncomfortable and the new suspension deals with the uneven road surfaces so much better, the car feel much more "sure-footed" at all speeds and as its only lowered 30mm I still have a decent amount if ground clearance and the front lower lip still clears kerb stones. Worth every penny in my opinion 😎
