  1. Lots of info pages on here to help. Its quite a fiddly job but easy enough to DIY if you want to. I did mine, which didn't have the factory prep, took the best part of the day to do and now have a detachable towbar. Good luck
  2. I regularly service mine, even the oil filter underneath the car lol and the pain pollen filter. Recently had cambelt, water pump service at an indy. So, fingers crossed to the next 100k miles................
  3. Well finally hit the 100k miles today. 64 plate Tdi VRS, faultless so far. Well done Skoda.
  4. Thats what I would have thought too. Ill have a think, may just risk it for a biscuit on the hope nowt goes pear shape.
  5. A question please. I am looking to book in for my diesel VRS to get the RacingLine treatment but have been told that any other coding can possibly affect the tune. Has anyone experienced any issues of this kind? Ive changed a few options in the past which i would like to keep. Thanks in advance
  6. Its all good fun this DIY stuff, sometimes wonder of its just quic/easier to get someone else in to do it.
  7. If diesel? You can drop the exhaust from the rubber hangar, then there is enough clearance with a long extension bar. When you come to find the holes, they are covered in little squares in the underbody protection.
  8. Im guessing you mean you are struggling to push the pins into the correct locations? From memory when i did mine it was just fiddly, but with the instructions supplied and a great help on here it all worked out. I will try and find the guides. Kev
  9. I have a 64 vrs tdi, I get approx 515miles to the tank on average based on mainly A road and motorway driving. If I do more town driving the fill up warning comes in a lot earlier and i get to around 450 before filling, although I've never managed to put more than 46 ltrs in.
  10. Hi VrsAnt, I ended up doing my own electrics fitting using the fantastic guides found on here - apologies to the authors, I forget who they were now (I can email you a copy if you PM address) and those supplied with the towbar. The overall install took a bit of time but was achieved on my own do you should be fine. Things to consider are: Is the car suitable (guessing you have a Vrs) as some require additional parts for cooling etc. Are you able to code the install in? I used OBDeleven and again the guides on here. All above is at own risk, has to be said. Hope that helps Kev
  11. Slightly on this topic, I drove a friends Seat Leon FR today, they seem to have 3 jets per side opposed to the Octavias 2 per side. I wondered if the parts are interchangeable?? Anyone know?
  12. Stripping out the inside would be correct if you have no towbar prep installed from factory? I did my own detachable, pics below for reference. All in, correctly coded and working with the vehicle. Hope that helps? Kev
  13. I fitted a Westfalia detachable swan neck. I had no pre prep so it was a bit of a faff running all the wires, the guides on here and the guide that came with the kit were pretty straightforward and easily DIYable. The prep you have should be behind the Left hand rear boot liner above the arch and the wiring clips into there. You will be told, make sure you have it all coded correctly to ensure the vehicle acts correctly when towing (ABS, traction control etc) Hope that helps, good luck
  14. Check around the radiator for signs of colouring, there could be a small hole (stone chip, split) that only leaks when under pressure or when coolant is hot enough.
  15. No worries, worth a try. I am just after the foam as I have everything else. Spare is just strapped in boot at the min.
  16. Sasha, do you happen to have the spare wheel foam Insert left over from this?
  17. Does anyone happen to know if this would be suitable for Amundsen MIB1? Rather not wait weeks for delivery to find out it wont work. Cheers
  18. This post has pictures of the holes and fit.
  19. Fingers crossed for you. The stickers covering the holes were square if I remember correctly, 1inch x 1inch at most.
  20. I dropped the exhaust off the rubber mount then unclipped the heat shield, it was tight but enough room to tighten bolts with a 12 inch extension on torque wrench.
