  1. I think it's start the car not relock, because you do it before you get out so if you where then to unlock to get in the boot it would reset, so that is why i think it's next time you start the car.
  2. I always click on the cog and adjust the playback speed to at least 1.75 and pause graphs when needed
  3. Sorry I didn't realise you were not the OP, they just keep coming on looking and not responding. So we are wasting our time.
  4. I agree if you point it at the hose the reading will be less than the reading of the actual coolant inside. But how do you verify that the reading you are relying on for the temp inside is correct? Using the reading from the hose see what temp is reached for the radiator fan to kick in. If the thermostat is new and the hose gets to above 75 before the fan kicks in, if the heater blows at 82 and remains at 82 when the fan kicks in. The temperature gauge or temperature sensor are the ones that are wrong because you know the coolant is definitely higher than 70-75 which is the temperature you say the car hovers around? The heater cannot blow hotter than the coolant temp can it, it must be cooler
  5. Why is an infra re meter pointed at the engine block not accurate? If you get a consistant 82 from the vents it's the dashboard gauge that is wrong so that points to the temp sensor
  6. Even with towbar prep you will need a wiring loom to the final sockets it will also not mean just slap the ball on. Unless the car was used and they just took it off. I have had cars with Prep and the rear cross member or valance still needed to be removed and replaced with the towbar. Still have a cross member from a Ford in my Garage after selling the car with the towbar still on. But with prep and a dedicated loom there is no need for extra lamp or beeping when the trailer is attached the car tells you when a bulb is out on the trailer, it disconnects the rear sensors when the trailer is attached and lets the stability controls know you are towing, loads of advantages.
  7. are you looking to do it yourself or getting someone to do it?
  8. So do I, it will be behind a side panel in the boot not outside or underneath
  9. Have you noted at what temperature the radiator fan starts and what method are you using to validate the temp. Does the heater blow Hot not just warm. If the heater blows hot and doesn't cool down as it blows it is most likely the sensor. You could also invest in one of these for your toolbox
  10. Excellent review but The part about trim levels is useful but not UK specific
  11. Brand reliability survey What Car 2025 Depends upon which data sets are used
  12. Does that not correlate with sales volume? More cars on the road more problems reported or was it data arrived from percentage of individual vehicles
  13. If I add 3p per mile for my twelve months ev "fuel" cost would have been £606.18 compared to Diesel £709.79
  14. when you look at the structure of the files on the sd card using your pc are they in the same folder as the tracks you can see in the car or outside it
  15. It may depend upon the source of the original MP3, Some car systems will not play tracks with DRM in the meta data
  16. My son had a 7 year old peugeot with an eml on and an occasional mis fire. We used an obd got all manor of codes, I changed components i could do with no joy. I gave it my usual garage and he spent a week with it with access to Peugeots scan tools, he eventually rang me and said he could do no more and said he wouldn't charge me if i towed it away. Suggesting to take it to the main dealer and let them sort it because there was no point in him spending anymore time to put it back together because he had found nothing wrong with it but the lamp would not go off when he had put it back together a few times . So i took it and the now separate ignition pack and plugs to the dealer. They said they couldn't obviously diagnose the fault without putting it back together first. When they put it back together there was no fault and the car gave no further trouble. Tony at my garage was not impressed when i told him he was right that there was nothing wrong with it. Peugeot got £95 and Tony lost about £500 in time spent looking for nothing.
  17. Make sure they use OEM parts There is also anecdotal evidence of five year old cars suffering gremlins being linked to Earth points and Wiring contacts to the sensors themselves. I have seen videos of ABS sensors being fixed by simply removing the plug and putting it back on again.
  18. I understand and that is actually my point. If a fix is relatively cheap it's best to just do it because at least it eliminates the simple stuff and leaves the expensive time consuming thing to the dealers. You had trouble in July and Skoda did what Dealers do, they can only be sure what needs to be done to confirm if they do it themselves. Charge it up and see what happens i.e "Do you come back?" If you had come on here in July it would have been "Change the Battery" You then came on here on 31st October and immediately were pointed towards the "battery" Main dealers have waiting lists for scheduled work so they are doing it "As soon as they can" I have Fords mainly and they were the same I had a dsg fail and it was a fortnight to get in, "change oil and filter" a month later it failed again another week to get in "new gearbox unit" With Skoda i was contacted recently to book an "Inspection" when i rang "two weeks away" so I thought to also book it in for the MOT in January now in case they say "too busy" when it's due. On the what if it isn't the battery, if in July you had just bought a Battery and the problem could have been sorted but had it continued you would now be having whatever the problem was sorted next Tuesday under the warranty. If on Tuesday they change the Battery will you "feel" any different than you do now. Because you will still have the wonder of what if it isn't. My peace of mind is worth more than the price of a battery four or five months ago. When they do change the battery next Tuesday and it fixes it. Start looking around for your next nearest Dealer to go to in future because the one you are using is incompetent.
  19. Many five year old cars have electrical and sensor problems because the battery needs replacing. The components in the sensors and systems are sensitive to unstable 12v supply. I would get the battery and charging system tested in your case
  20. Reading back through the thread the car is five years old so if it is the original battery that is the most likely problem. So effectively we are discussing who is responsible for paying for it. Strictly speaking within 5 months of car purchase it's the Dealer. It's automatically their responsibility to fix it. But they have the right to check it's faulty and not just happening because of the way the car is used. This takes time. If it was me for the sake of a Battery and my Wife's safety and convenience I would have replaced the battery. Hopefully they will replace it next Tuesday but I would have put my time above the price of sorting this out a fortnight ago.
  21. The guessometer in the car is not a reliable way of achieving an accurate MPG. It shows what has happened over the period between resetting and adjusts as you drive I once left Lancashire with a full tank with a guessometer reading of 436 range When I got to Frankley services my expected range with the fuel not used was 500 miles and i had travelled over 100 miles. After two weeks driving around Devon When i filled up to return the predicted range was 450ish Not a superb but a 2.0 diesel with a dsg average to and from work was 34-35 mpg getting to 60+mpg on the motorway
  22. Ai appears to agree with what most of the replies so far have said. Putting 77 litres in when almost empty and guessing at the outcome is not really helpful. Accuracy requires full to full refueling and monitoring to get a "real mpg" Summary after a deep dive conversation
  23. More cars of all power trains are being built than demand They are effectively building used cars that wont be classed as new sales
