  1. https://www.scirp.org/journal/paperinformation?paperid=61284#ref36 Is it why 2030 was originally picked as the carbon zero target so that ten years later it can be claimed "look how good we did it's cooler now? "This implies that we by mid 21st century must expect cold climatic conditions and extensive ice expansion in the Arctic" To keep on the right thread though I am now actively looking for an Enyaq IV 60. Used so registered 2021-2022. Do I need to make sure it has a Heat pump? I am having a nightmare sorting out spec because it appears virtually everything was an option back then with Skoda trying to keep the base price below £35,000 so customers could get grants of £2,500
  2. I am currently looking at a two year old Enyaq 60 can anyone give me an honest view of why I should or shouldn't buy it. I know there is now an 80/85 but 240miles with a charging rate of up to 100kw will probably be ok for me. Will have to give up moving my caravan because it can only tow 1000kg but have tended to go to the same site for the last few years so i can store it there and they will put it on the pitch for me.
  3. So if you normally did your washing etc in the free window you have to stop that in advance and do it at another time. So when the window is announced you can do it as "extra use". If the free window remains the same period each time your "extra use" will be your norm . It's a lot of messing about for a couple of quid? Why don't the energy companies buy their own battery banks and "make hay while the sun shines and wind blows" themselves to sell it when power generation is down? probably because the capital investment would take too long to recover? So they want people with money to do it for them and attract new customers with the concept. They can probably even claim the money discounted as "promotional/advertising" costs against taxes?
  4. I don't think not being able to charge at home will be a problem by 2035. By then the 30 min for 200 mile or better will probably be the norm and a lot of people will only have to do it once or twice a week The question at the moment is whether the industry will survive the current Government mandate in the UK
  5. Approved used Full service history 1 owner 3 miles
  6. The discussion I heard was about how EV's are being registered then stored, being sold later even to the point of calling them second hand up to two years later and how that was affecting the used car market in general. But people hear what they want to hear.
  7. Some Companies are able to control a good proportion of the new/used car market and influence resale values. Marshall dealerships are Nationwide https://www.marshall.co.uk/contact-us/?postcode=&franchiseHash=
  8. A stroke of Genius I know it's a Skoda forum but I found this too interesting not to share
  9. Just did a quick check on Hagerty for Classic cars The Car cannot be your Main vehicle or Daily Driver Qualifying for collector insurance Vehicles must meet the following requirements: An extra vehicle, not for primary use Vehicle must be in good or better condition Vehicle must hold a minimum value of $3,500 Used for pleasure driving not regular commuting, ex. shows, scenic drives, occasional drives to work, etc. Protected, preferably in a garage, but carport and driveway allowed in many areas
  10. Maybe worth seeing if this company is truly Global? https://www.hagerty.com/about-us
  11. Reversing uphill requiring more accelerator input sounds normal to me in any type of vehicle.
  12. Should it not be in the middle not a Side?
  13. maybe of interest on delivery driver/firms forums?
  14. I use the weights on the VIN plate of the car. It shows the weight of the Vehicle (A) and Gross Train weight (B). C and D are load spread across front and rear axles. This vehicle for example can tow 1695kg, (B minus A ) If you do the calculation for percentage you may notice that it can only legally tow about 67% of it's weight. This is becoming more common with Hybrids and Bevs for example because the extra weight of the Car actually reduces it's towing capability. So check your cars "A" figure and work out the weight based on the percentage you are happy with without going over the "B" combination of both I suspect the 1.5 will have a max of around 1500kg but if you want an 85% match your looking at 1,275kg for the Caravan when laden. You may find this useful https://towcar.info/ If you are a member of a caravan or camping Club they offer a free on-line match checker
