  1. Could you confirm the usb type in the car? usb b is like a printer cable Is the iphone no longer "lightning" have they changed to usb c now? If you need usb C male to Usb A male there are loads of cables available, but you need to check it's not "charging only" has to be a Data/charging cable
  2. £80,000 off https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202408172983070?sort=relevance&advertising-location=at_cars&fuel-type=Electric&make=Rolls-Royce&maximum-mileage=500&postcode=m45 6dj&fromsra No good for me because my Dog is too big for the back seat with the console in the middle
  3. I follow the advice of wipers on, headlights on
  4. forward collision system not on yet i think. Comes on as i start sometimes Not seen the second red one you mention maybe when you are moving it's a warning it's off or you're too close
  5. Back of the cigarette packet maths for my first 72 miles. 8ppm 2.5 hours x 4hr x 2.3kw x 25p = £5.75 / 72 = 0.07986111p
  6. Most vehicle collisions happen when they are too close together 😉
  7. The two trucks mentioned where at two different sites? The one discussed in depth was to perform movements of logs/wood 4 mile each way. For trucking the goal will to be to get the vehicles capable of meeting Tacho requirements. Cover driving time and charge in breaks. I am sure it will be done.
  8. In my experience if you switch to manual it will stay in the gear it is in, if you don't move it again. Except for going slower it will change down to protect itself (1). But when you then drive quicker it will go back up to where you set it Therefore if it is stationary it will show 1 unless you move then you can select 2 and it won't change up any higher. If you are moving and flick to manual it will show the gear it is in and you can change down or up etc. But if the car goes too slow for the gear it will change down, if you select a gear too low it will not change up but may limit the revs if it feels it feels it will cause damage. The experience from Ford,Seat and a Mercedes dsg boxes (1) The engine would stall, it's a computer controlled manual gearbox
  9. The recommended is 2 seconds of time https://www.iam-bristol.org.uk/index.php/articles/associate-s-guide/64-the-two-second-rule At seventy miles an hour your car covers 62.5 metres.. Average car length is 4.5m so nearly 14 cars. many drive closer than that which results in I doubt your garage will change the settings.
  10. Using ACC how far in front of you is the car in front at 70 mph
  11. It does have standard cruise and a limiter. So i wont be bothering with the payment. I believe though with the acc in an ev it helps optimise regen when in traffic.
  12. The Enyaq required me to download myskoda to my phone to access charging status etc remotely with my phone, I can set the car to clear the windows and warm the cabin whilst having my breakfast at 6 in the morning when necessary. Whilst doing it the app asked me to go to the car and scan a Qr code on screen to activate. After doing this the car started downloading updates to itself. Also now says hello " xxxx" on screen when getting in and "goodbye xxxx" getting out 😂 The shop contained some stuff labled "£0.00" which when download appeared as "valid until xx/xx/xx " one date was the third anniversary of reg date others ten years. Other options were free for a month with a fee to keep , ACC was £269 after a month. Some of the features were cosmetic like extra colours for the interior lighting.
  13. This may or may not be related. But i bought an Enyaq on Sunday and thought it had acc in the spec advertised but when i tried to use it i got that message "Not available" Trying to find out with someone hopefully has a decent vin checker specific to vehicle not model. In the myskoda app in the car it is there as a purchasable option, could it have been removed with a corrupt software update? Has it appeared there in your car?
  14. Both visible here I wonder if he knows you don't have to stand there until it's charged up 😂
  15. I have been a Diesel die hard for forty years. So this is to help those on the fence. Thinking there are possibly others I will post my experience here on an ongoing ownership basis. I have a Caravan but it is now stored at the site we always go to anyway (Devon) so towing will not be an issue. Once that decision was made the next step was easy for me. It is based on personal use of the vehicle and what fits my needs best. So what is perfect for me may not apply to many others. The majority of my trips are local so with the diesel i was focusing on towing a caravan a dozen times a year at the best MPG and getting a half decent return of 35mpg round town. Now with the ev i will have a better £pm locally but potentially costing more on the 12 trips to Devon. (I actually think in practice it will still be cheaper because it may work out possible to only use a rapid charger once per trip for about 20 mins each way.) Camp sites are starting to have ev charging on site at reasonable rates? Still trying to find the exact spec of my car. Today i found out acc is an option in the myskoda shop i can buy for £269. So my car must have it but needs a software update to activate it ? I was able to activate a few "free" options that last to the end of the Skoda warranty period.and couple that last 10 years. I assume they become Subscription later. Looks like they are taking tips from Elon. Watch this space.
  16. He owns https://www.pandahub.com/blog/behind-the-garage-door-unveiling-elon-musks-ultimate-passion-for-cars
  17. Discovered so far Cruise control the car has standard cruise control but all the equipment to run ACC . £269 option to activate in the shop app.
  18. I aiming for 65° f and not intending to cry over energy use. No point in having an ev if you can't use it like you did with the ice. It's my aim to improve my life. I always dress for outside air temperature when going to work. i don't want to have to get dressed getting out of the car. I have noticed this Enyaq targets the heat at areas with someone sat in rather than the whole interior. which is clever.
  19. Is it possible to get the build spec of my car from the vin. Parkers appears to just give generic info. I want to know if things like heat pump etc were bought as options.
  20. Look at it again Front tyre pressures and rear tyre pressures under each picture. Rear pressure goes up
  21. Bp pulse Subscribers pay £7.85 per month for the lower rates to save 16p = 50kw per month every month to start saving. Initially i will hold off on the wallbox at home because generally i don't go far. Will it be ok for the battery if i set it to charge to 80% and maintain it there after trips by plugging in a granny charger to replace my daily low mileage? I would then only have to pay the higher rates if i went too far from home which i assure you will be rare. But i will be saving the planet. I am also now learning that away from home charging could be a nightmare for me because i don't have a mobile phone contract 😂
  22. How often do people in London drive to penzance though. The calculation is also based on always charging at a superfast chargers price. You can charge with slower chargers if you have the time. Admittedly people with no home charging at all benefit less from an ev. But i used the zap map site to compare my short daily trip to work with an enyaq compared to my Ford, charging at home with no special rates 24.6p/kwh So the reverse is true for most journeys with an ev over diesel/petrol. Short journeys give better m/kw than mpg with the diesel/petrol which prefers longer trips. Also when i just checked tthis with zapmap they are still using 120.9ppl for fuel price Just bit the bullet and bought an enyaq, collect it tomorrow
  23. https://www.scirp.org/journal/paperinformation?paperid=61284#ref36 Is it why 2030 was originally picked as the carbon zero target so that ten years later it can be claimed "look how good we did it's cooler now? "This implies that we by mid 21st century must expect cold climatic conditions and extensive ice expansion in the Arctic" To keep on the right thread though I am now actively looking for an Enyaq IV 60. Used so registered 2021-2022. Do I need to make sure it has a Heat pump? I am having a nightmare sorting out spec because it appears virtually everything was an option back then with Skoda trying to keep the base price below £35,000 so customers could get grants of £2,500
