Ok yes that's true but doesn't the cover keep more of the best trapped in the engine.- Update - Octavia Hatch SE L waiting time
Congratulations, that sounds like great news for you. Hope it goes smoothly for you and you get your new car without any hiccups- Smartlink Fail
No problem, I just wish I could be of more help.- Smartlink Fail
Yeah I think you may, unless someone else here can help. Maybe a OTA software update can rectify the issue if it persists and also available for you, I'm just not right person to advice about this thing though. Otherwise the dealer is the best bet. All the best with it- Smartlink Fail
Welcome. Yes, that's strange, I would think it would be on already. 🤔. So you turned it on and nothing happened then?- Smartlink Fail
I've had the similar issue with my Android phone where it says it can't connect, but I've never the instruction to turn on the wifi. I think the wifi instruction is related to the wifi of the car not your phone, is that your understanding as well. I'll see if I can find how to turn the car wifi on and off.- Driving without the engine cover
Hey thanks for your response. Yes so do you know what the specific purpose is? Interesting I didn't know that, i guess i would be different. I have 😀. Anyway it's pretty easy to put back on.- Dealing with skoda post purchase.
I've had to email Skoda re some issues I'm having with the moon roof, sunshade and front internal lights where they freeze randomly and stop functioning for about 20 minutes this has happened so many times. I emailed them about 2 days ago re the issue but they haven't gotten back to me. I was wondering how long does it take for them to respond and what should I expect. Apologies if this topic is vague, it's just my first time having to deal with them and also as a new car under warranty. Any advise tips will help.- Driving without the engine cover
Thanks for your response, glad to know it's OK..... Yeah not expecting to get any performance improvements....Actually my reasoning in removkng it is that engines with turbos can get very hot especially when under pressure so taking the cover off allows the heat to dissipate better...... I just wasn't sure if it had a more important function and removing it comprised the engine that's all.- Driving without the engine cover
I was wondering what purpose the engine cover had apart from aesthetically making the bay look neater and maybe deadening some of the engine noise. I was wondering if it was OK to drive without it as it would allow the engine to breathe better. Has anyone else removed it on their car. I don't care as much about aesthetics. I have heard elsewhere that the covers are a waste and they just trap heat that isn't good for the engine. Any thoughts, knowledge experience is appreciated.- Not registering touch on front interior lights module
I've emailed Skoda help as they have instructed. I need them to have a look at it as the problem has persisted. The car is only one month old and already it has electronic issues. This must be covered under warranty. First time having to deal with them for an issue that has been present from the start.- Locating the trip counter
Oh this is great thanks so much for sharing this it is so helpful. I'll have a look at it after work tonight on my virtual cockpit. I couldn't figure out how to get to the menu for the centre display. Much appreciated.- Locating the trip counter
Yes. Yes that's true thanks for that. I thought maybe mine had that, but as you said mine has the virtual cockpit- Locating the trip counter
Not that I could find. Also like @Neily03 says mine doesn't have this maxidot display it has the virtual cockpit. Just didn't know where the trip is.- Locating the trip counter
Hi i was wondering if there is any one that can help me with somethingthat should be very simple. I'm trying to find the trip counter if there Is one. I just need one that can be reset whenever I want, (ie for measuring distance travelled between points). I'm not referring to the 'since refuel" or "since start" etc. I'm just talking about a good old trip counter. I've read the menu and attempted to find it but can't. Yes I have located the reset function for all the counters re since fuel, since start long-term. But in the manual in the diagram it has F trip, where is that, I can't bring that up. Is this only available for certain models. Is the trip counter elsewhere.- Not registering touch on front interior lights module
Ahh ok well mine was during the drive, though one time was before a drive when I excitedly showed my wife the feature where you press and hold the unlock button on the fob and the 4 windows plus sunshade (sunroof) open. I had forgotten that the sun shade/ roof also opened when you did that so I didn't complete the process then we started to drive off and she tried to fully open the sun shade and roof and it was stuck plus the lights didn't respond for about 15 to 20. Yes you are correct if it's random it would be hard to prove. All the best with it.- Not registering touch on front interior lights module
Actually that's happened to me a few times. The system just freezes and the whole sunroof sunshade and lights in the unit for a period of about 20 minutes is inoperable than it somehow comes back, ether by itself or because of some type of manipulation. I mentioned it to the dealer, they said to monitor it and bring it back in if it continues. I haven't brought it back as of yet I haven't found the time but i know I should. I did notice though that it happens primarily when the sunroof is in the process of doing one thing eg opening, but you stop it or tried to close it before it fully opens, but then the whole unit or most of it just freezes.- Phoenix orange
Do you have a picture of it. It's very subjective though. If you like it what does it matter what others think. Resale value may matter in the end i guess it depends.- Oil change frequency
I don't know maybe, all I know is that's what the sales guy mentioned to me. No I would think not. Maybe it's part of the 7 year servicing schedule. I guess I'll have to see. Yes that's what I was mindful of, it being one those using a bit more oil in the running in phase, I had read that somewhere else and my first brand new car I just wanted to make sure I was on top of things. Ok so not all of them do. Yeah I'll try not too. Yes the 7 year warranty gives some peace of mind. Thanks for your advise.- Oil change frequency
Ah now I get it. Thanks for the explanation about the long services. Typical manufacturers though. Yes re the short trips are what I'm concerned about as those are the majority we do, of course we will get those occasional long trips in too. Part of me asking re the more frequent oil changes for a TURBO engine than the regular was because of these reasons you mentioned above with the oil and also reading elsewhere too. I guess in the end it's up to me, how I go about it, but it's good to get others input and advise.- Oil change frequency
- Oil change frequency
- Oil change frequency
I'm not sure about them not logging in intermediate oil changes, the dealer seemed to think they would, but what would they know right. Anyway thanks for your point re sticking to the prescribed yearly 15,000km servicing. I have been told though that at about 3,000 km or February they will ask me to come in to check fluid levels.- Fuel consumption of turbo
Thanks yes I have some idea. Still learning though. Yes, i understand the theory behind it. Do you have any data that says peak torque of the Octavia rs is at 2000, I'm trying to find that info. Yes fair enough you make a valid point. Still I enjoy the car. - Driving without the engine cover
