  1. .The decals, I agree do look good, but are too much for day to day use & far too easy for Plod to spot you a MILE OFF !! It also is an invite for every Nova Boy with an exhaust larger than their I.Q. to try to race you. The exposed paintwork will also fade compared to the paint that is covered in vinyl, so when eventually the decals start to peel off, you will be potentially left with a 2 tone car. One last piont, I also prefer mine without the decals, instead of being 1/100 it is now 1/1 !! Graham
  2. For the sake of a mornings takings driving to another dealer, look in the handbook at the other Skoda dealers in the area & see if they can do it (Forward Motors in Luton seem to bend over backwards to help) Hope this helps Graham
  3. Welcome to the friendliest forum on the net (Unless you ask for advice on which is better a 4x4 or a vRS) I am insured with What Car Insurance (08457 413554)who quoted me
  4. Yes Skomaz I did get a good deal, I even got them to fit CoilPacks!!! Graham
  5. Skomaz, Yes that is the same car, they registered it March 2002, Used it as a demo car for shows etc, parked it on the forecourt, stole the coilpacks from it, & there it waited & waited & waited & waited............................... Until I finally decided to go in & make them an offer. The rest they say is history. Graham.
  6. Had the (mis) fortune to be in Grimsby yesterday (sorry Grimsby). As you drive in from the Motorway there is a VERY large car compound at the roadside full of VAG vehicles that have just come off the Ferry. There was a line of about 40+ (!) Black vRS's. a few Silver, did not see any Yellow or Red. So there is either a) a lot of owners waiting to take delivery of their new cars or a lot of dealers with "Stock to Move" Graham
  7. According to my dealer approx 20 out of the limited run of 100 WRC Edition Octavia vRS's came to the UK. I have one, 66/100 has another, Skoda Events have one (with Green Brembo's) Forward Motors (Luton) have (or had) one. DM Keith in Leeds has a new one in the showroom)
  8. That HAS to be the understatement of the decade !!! Graham:D
  9. Thanks Panrix2002, I am not sure if that was a compliment or not !! But yes you are correct, they are hard to miss. I had the decals removed from mine before I bought it, Does not 'Shout' quite so much. But that leaves a question, there are 20ish in the UK & there is one other registered user on BRISKODA, where are the others? Time for a new thread I think. Graham
  10. Why what have I done now ??? Graham
  11. Graeme, I thought it was on the 29th June ? Thats 4 + weeks ? Graham
  12. Just a (non confirmed) quote from my dealer regarding the 4X4 hatch: "Although Skoda UK have de-listed it, if anyone really wants one they will do a special order if pushed" Graham
  13. If after all that PM'ing, there is a place left, I am a definate !! So if there is a list of reserves, please add me to it. PM on the way with details. Graham
  14. Baheed, I will give you  from the opposite carriageway as I am off to Fort William working that weekend. Never mind. Graham
  15. Good Luck with the car Halfords sell a Teflon based protection kit in a spray pump, it comes boxed with a foam cleaner aswell, works for carpets, the silver part of the seats & the door trims. (Made by Simoniz I think) I have used it & seems to work well. Small spot stains can be removed with Baby Wipes Graham
  16. Er yep I too got caught out following Mike, by the time I had gone to the next roundabout & cut across back to the dual Carriageway. "No Sign" of anyone. Never mind, I went for my own "Exclusive" drive around the North Staffs & Derbyshire Moorlands & home via Buxton. (For "Exclusive" Read "Billy No-Mates !!") Thanks Funky for a great Day Out. Good to put a few names to faces . See you all at the next one. Graham
  17. I took the plunge yesterday & phoned Mark at Swissol. He recommended what products I needed, took my address & they arrived this morning. So I gave the car a good wash using the Swissol Wash, Pre-Cleaned the paint using the cleaner solution, gave it a wax, & guess what ?? It looks Bloody Amazing !!! But you will see that tomorrow !! Graham
  18. Nick, Sorry I missed that part of the post. If you have the original instructions with a wiring diagram, we may be able to de-cipher the possibilities. See you tomorrow. Graham
