  1. Maybe the stock power output is much more than the quoted 217 bhp. That might go somewhere to explain these huge increases.
  2. It's not 1954!! 'Running in' Just drive it.
  3. Mine does the same. It's weird almost like a massive vacuum within the cabin. But in reality it's just a sticking catch.
  4. So..... I switch the power washer on and out pops the wand straight into the corner of the roof line, the thin body of metal that runs above the doors adjoining the roof I now have my first collateral damage on my new vRS. I thought I might be able to get it to a dent guy with the rods so he can tease it out, but on further inspection, pulling out the roof lining from the rubber seal with the back door open it appears there is too much extra reinforcing steel in order to get any rods to the dent. An angled one might do it, but not sure. Green dot indicates area :-( Next question is, can it be pulled or will it have to be filled and painted at stupid expense? I do not have the car at the moment so cannot take a photy of offending ding, but it is a small indent, just big enough to pI$$ me off. Thoughts anyone??
  5. Best solution I think. 320 kpbs is fine for a car. I also have a mac and use 'Tagger' to strip out artwork created with itunes and put it back again. That way all cover art shows on the Amundsen. When adding to the sd card via the usb reader I also have free 'Blue Harvest' running which removes those pesky Metadata files and folders such as Spotlight 100 etc.
  6. Anyone had this? Couple of occasions of late, after the car has been stood, I set off and it's stuck in sport.. although the infotainment tells me it's in normal. I switch to sport and back to normal via the screen a brief flicker and the cars OK again. Weird software glitch by the sound of it.
  7. http://www.vertar.com/car-care-interior/seat-protection/sunshine-kids-ultra-mat/ I got these Tough and don't slip. They also have pockets to put stuff in. Seem to be the same as the amazon ones which are cheaper
  8. Not if you already have a round VRS wheel though, which was what I was driving at With a round wheel
  9. Probably, but I would stop at three hundred for a few inches of flat bit if I had the round one with the same functions.
  10. 'Slamming' a car so low looks ludicrous, it makes the wheel arch appear too big. That VW behind is frankly laughable, in fact, I think it almost looks like a bad photoshop.
  11. Yeah! But that's got light in it, lights cost big money.. My main concern is making my car go round corners. I just can't get my head round why ANYONE would pay three hundred quid for a steering wheel with the same functionality.. but with a flat bit on the bottom.
  12. 300 quid for a £U£in steering wheel, with a flat bottom! Somebody will be daft enough I suppose.
  13. We are still in a pretty exclusive club here in Harrogate. Only seen one other race blue vRS combi out and about. So that's red white and blue now..
  14. It's a mare being clipped in and you see a red light on a crossing. Must confess I have gone through a few when the pedestrian has crossed or some loon decides to press the button when there is no traffic and he is long crossed.

  16. What a weekend that was. Stood at the end of our street, waiting for the tour. Then it all kicked off.. that utterly bizarre caravan of giant oranges, fruit shaped vans, Bic Razors and French girls dancing whilst tethered to the top of giant sweets on wheels. Blasting round the corner of Starbeck crossing in a blur of strange noises sounding like an out take from a Clouseau film. A Cartoon atmosphere, only the French seem to be able to create. The support cars, Team Sky, Moviestar, Cannondale the Mavic cars, The Gendarmerie high fiveing from squad cars! Tons of Superbs and Octy's in team colours. That eerie silence, we knew they were coming, the helicopters flying at low and high levels, then the awesome spectacle of the Peloton sweeping up the high street in a blaze of colour and noise. A completely surreal, powerful and overwhelming experience. Then it was gone.... In a matter of minutes. I'm hooked!
  17. I have Canton and to be honest it ain't that much. I wouldn't beat yersen up over not speccing. I had the Stream unit in my MK II vRS and that sounded like a much more composed set up. Hardly any distortion even when played at insane volume. OK the treble may have been a bit 'quacky' but it was a very solid, together sound. I get the impression that the speakers in the front of the MK III's are cheap and start to go woolly, completely losing it when the sound is cranked up. That then leaves you with the Sub, which is fifty billion miles away in the back trying to compensate. giving a very disjointed sound.
  18. Well I am disappointed with mine, After 2500K it does not seem to have improved at all. Not at all convinced it sounds as good as my old Stream in the MK II, The bass is woolly and vague, subwoofer is frankly useless in the back of an estate car of this size. Listening to it in isolation with the tailgate open it sounds VERY muddy, lacking punch. The door speakers are not as good as the units in the MK II either, they could handle the bass much better and did not lose detail like these do. God knows what the standard system sounds like, but my guess is that it's a damn site worse than the kit in the MK II.
  19. 5K per year!! Much use as a chocolate teapot then. Who does 5K per year nowadays??
