12 V battery is being discharged. Please start the engine.
Yes this is normal my car is the same both now and after the new battery. It just means the battery is discharging because the engine isn’t running. As I said earlier your symptoms seem identical to mine now you’ve got the same stop start not reliably working.

There you go then. On mine once I drove to the gym, stopped the engine but a podcast was still running and within 30 seconds or so it shut the car off saying it needed to preserve battery. Also got a few random ADAS and such error lights that would come on and then go off within a few miles. All clues to low battery voltage.

Try not doing that and see. Mine would go days or weeks without turning off. Now it does it so often, like you, I end up turning it off

Does the stop start system work? Mine didn’t and it got a new battery recently after 6 months and 4,000km

Battery problem
Interesting. This is a term I’ve never heard of. Had to look it up. So far everyone I’ve asked has never heard of it either.

I assume you are talking about the hybrid, I have a 4.5 RS

Washing the Superb today ***warning photo dump***
Yes those wheels look like a nightmare to keep clean. The Octavia 4.5 RS rims are comparatively easy once you remove the aero covers

Octavia vRS FL first impressions
On the fuel it obviously is different if ethanol is in the fuel. Ethanol has good anti knock qualities hence its use blended with petrol to increase the octane rating but it has 30% less energy during combustion then petrol. So E10 is 3% less performance overall than pure petrol. Luckily in NZ it is pretty easy to avoid fuel that contains ethanol with most of the major suppliers not using it.

Not sure what maintenance means. It’s sealed for life. The car was always garaged and in a moderate climate. I’m sure the biggest driver of longevity is the use case of the car only which you can’t standardise. A lot of short trips surely takes its toll. My motorcycles are all on battery tenders because they are used far less often. The batteries are extensively recycled anyway. It might just have been that car because I’ve never had anything like it before or since.

I find batteries tend to only last 4 years anyway. On my Subaru I had sudden failures so I just replaced them on a schedule

I use 98RON in NZ. The fuel flap says 95 minimum. I’ve been told the optimum performance that is quoted is at 98 with a small reduction in torque at 95. Probably not much in it but the EA888 evo4 is a pretty high compression engine for a turbo (9.6:1) so it makes sense to me. The extra cost doesn’t bother me but I’m sure it’s just fine on 95 too and have out that in if 98 wasn’t available. I’m usually a stickler for not going higher than the minimum on the basis that it doesn’t do anything but there is clearly a detonation risk in a hot, high compression relatively high performance turbocharged engine so I see it as cheap insurance to get the most out of the engine.

Sound like warranty has a different meaning in the uk then. Here in NZ they did everything with a smile, took my photo of the warning lights I had, gave me a free kamiq Monte Carlo for the day, washed my car (to be fair it was already clean) and charged nothing.

Battery problem
I sensed there was something wrong with my battery and yes I could have started charging the battery or load testing it etc.. guys the car is under warranty. Just take it to the dealer and let them diagnose and sort for you.

Battery problem
My loaner car was a Kamiq montecarlo. I was actually quite impressed with the space in it for such a short vehicle. Kind of fun but not a patch on the Octavia of course
-
Battery problem
No my car doesn’t move but the engine restarts because the car in front moved
-
Battery problem
The most annoying thing is when it stops and then the person in front devices to moves forward 1 metre and my car starts because the radar sees it move.

Battery problem
Took the car for an errand today and it stopped and started so many times I turned it off. So it works properly now :)

Got my car back. Verdict was defective battery so replaced with new one

Battery problem
That's wha the dealer ship say they are going to do. There are only two options. Either I just got a bad battery from new or there is something wrong with the charging system.

Battery problem
Yes I've catalogued all the issues and they have the car for the day. Also shared the photo (attached) with the dealer which says take your car to the dealer. I'm pretty sure all the random lights I've had coming on are something to do with low voltage. The Kamiq Montecarlo loner I just drove back home stopped started about 10 times during the trip reinforcing my view there is something not quite right with my car.

Yes I could go investigating myself but when it’s brand new I’ll let the dealer do it.
