So i used a infrared thermometre and the temperature ranged between 37c to 40c after a 8 mile / 20 min drive

So mine does get warm within 1km like yourself but perhaps doesnt feel hot compared to other cars, just seeing if this is a element issue or just overtime it doesnt get as warm as it use to compared to newer cars Real question i suppose what can be done to improve things? Ive tried looking at obd11 but couldnt find the option Not sure if the whole steering wheel has to be replaced if i want it hotter?

Hey guys Ive got a heated steering wheel and when i set it on to level 3 it seems to take ages to heat up and even when its fully heated it doesnt seem to be as warm as it ought to be, is this normal? My wifes vw tiguan heated steering wheel for example is roasting Do you reckon its a fault or can be tweaked with obd11?

Hey all Ive managed to put 5% tints on my rear boot and rear passenger windows on my black 21 plate octavia vrs but was wondering the front driver and passenger window, is there legal wiggle room to make it any darker ? I know it has to let it atlease 70% light but is it already at 70% from the factory? Attached is the stock car before i tinted the rears

I had this issue today for the first time, drove to the supermarket 10 mind away and was stuck on loading. After 30 mins of shopping when i went back to the car it went back to normal when i started the car. I did have that sos bug fault a few days ago which cleared so will keep an eye on this

hi there Just having my car serviced at skoda dealership and they mentioned my front driverside cv joint gaiter is split and leaking oil Been quoted £320 part and labour to get replaced? Is that a fair price or a rip off? What should the average cost be to replace? Thank you!

I have mk4 21 plate with heated windscreen and can agree there are no wires. But it is not the quickest to defrost an icy windscreen, maybe 3-4mins ish?

Hey thanks for that I often find vaq overlooked so will look to get it serviced As for the dsg, i was shocked when told 80k miles . So hoping that has been done if not will push that through for peace of mind ( oil + filter for dsg) Spark plugs are prob due now 👍 Thanks again for your input !

Hi everyone I bought my 21 plate octavia vrs 2.0 around march @ 39k miles and now touching 43k miles I have booked in for service in feb 2026 and they said they would let me know what additional work might be needed in addition to the service But what else should i consider outside of normal service? I did enquire about dsg service but person at the dealership said thats for when i hit 80k miles and its too early to do? Should i just do it anyways as its 4 years old / 40k+ miles? Also enquired about vaq oil change and they said they would let me know if its required. Again im just assuming dsg + vaq service has not been done, they will check service history and let me know Most likely new spark plugs? I am hoping to keep this for atleast the next 3 years I Would rather do extra preventative maintenence now then stretch things to the recommended limit , or i might be overthinking things lol I am based in london so if i do go ahead with a vaq + dsg service is it better to just get the dealer to do it ir are there any skoda specialist garage in london people can recommend? Your thoughts are much appreciated

Around last christmas i had got a good deal on obd11 ( obd11 + 500 credit + phone holder €99) and been able to do all the changes i wanted with the app, its super easy turn on scandanavian light Turn on both reversing lights Turn off lane assist Turn off sound aktuator ( drove me crazy) You dont need the obd11 ultimate or pro Just regular obd11 2nd gen which is around 60 euro And you can buy 100 credits for around 18 euro Each change you do will cost about 10 credits

Hi guys, my soon to be acquired mk4 vrs doesnt have a spare wheel. Can it fit a full sized spare 19” altair wheel + tyre? Or does it only have room for space saving spare wheel 18” + foam. I can find a used 19” rim plus tyre for just over £250 but not sure if it would fit under boot floor.

I do have it in writing via email that both the tail light and window will be fixed/replaced under warranty thankfully

I checked and software was updated to 1985 version. Is condensation in tail light common to mk4 octavias?

Hi everyone, long time reader first time poster I am soon to replace my ‘17 octavia vrs challenge which has been a joy to drive for a newer ‘21 plate octavia vrs As i am getting it on finance i was told i get 2 years free servicing,mot,roadside assistace and most importantly warranty Now when test driving the car i noticed passenger from window judders in one direction and there is condensation in one of the rear tail lights The salesman said they will look into it, is it something they should sort out before i finalise the purchase ? Or is it something i will/can claim on via warranty once i own the car? Thank you in advance
