  1. VW502 00 00 so 5w 40 FS is the correct spec, non Long Life for Fixed Oil & Filter service regime. If you do not want Long Life Oil VW 504 00 / 507 00 5w 30 FS III or 0w 30 FS III for fixed ot variable then use the Non Long Life.
  2. There is a button at the drivers door side B pillar to press to disable the alarm for when pets left in or car on a transporter, ferry etc. You should be able to find the Youtube vid, or the several threads over the years on here asking the same question.
  3. The thing that is not uncommon is when they drive Left Hand drives and then find when they come to the UK they are not quite as well handling as when on Continental European Roads, controls not really suited to Right hand drive cars, or there are issues needing ironed out like the brake pedal / firewall. There is also Haymarket Media Group / Autocar / What car naming cars Car of the Year and great reviews, and then a year or 3 later when the snagging faults are still not ironed out they say nothing. Maybe even making the Model their Used Car choice. Tha
  4. Looking forward to the new 2026 KIA PV5 Passenger. Maybe a contender for car of the year 2027, or the New Skoda Epiq.
  5. @Stonekeeper I know all about how car model years are named MY26 after about the summer revisions. Makes no difference really. The All New Skoda Fabia Mk3 was AutoCar car of the years in 2014 for 2015 before any were driven in the UK or available to customers in right hand drive, then it turned out to just be one of the engine choices. It was good for Skoda UK advertising they had the 2015 Car of the Year before Christmas 2014. Sports Personality 2025 was this week. There might be a new superstar next year..
  6. Why they call them car of the year for a year not yet here when there will be be new cars out next year is just the strangest of things. They are driving and scoring cars available now. this being 2025.
  7. IMO, Run it on e5 Super Unleaded for the higher octane and detergent package (Tesco Momentum 99) & use Non Long Life oil and change the spark plugs at 40,000 miles or less, check the air filter annually and do not go for any carbon cleaning service.
  8. Skoda / VW do the Euro 6 1.0 3 cylinder without a turbo (MPI) and this KISS set up is all many need.
  9. Regardless of how they are now it is service and maintenance time for the brakes, main dealer service does not have them touched unless paid for as an extra. The Brake fluid change was for more than a decade first at 3 years, then each 2. Now back to first at 2 years. Might well be ignored by many, if there are rear drums they need the drums off and checked and a clean out service. PS. There is Brake Assist that can be increased and sometimes is for disabled drivers, maybe on Motability cars, worth checking if the factory setting can be reduced as far as assistance.
  10. @Genesis32 There are plenty that have had issues with the 12v battery & PHEV,s. Warranty replacements of the battery. Flat batteries. Just a bit of a search will show this. Is this the first issue with your car.
  11. IMPORTANT. The CHARGE PLACE SCOTLAND RFID Card is not going to be of use in many areas pretty soon.
  12. Buy

Best drive them and see. They will do 75 mph which ever engine and keep up with modern traffic including vRS,s. They will pass traffic quick enough for safe passes in the NSL,s.
  13. Dundee City are there among the first ones out, leaving Charge Place Scotland for Evolt, so from Charge Place Scotland administered by SWARCO to Evolt owned by SWARCO. HQ,d in the city.
  14. The Filter is certainly not expensive, just messy to change, As ridiculous as the official recommended, advised, schedule of 80,000 miles given by VW Group / Skoda is the Main Dealers going with not changing the DSG filter until the 2nd Service which could be 80,000 if an owner listen to them.
  15. Just had my 'Warm home discount' £150 credited to my account by Eon Next. Soooper. & i have my 7 hours of 6.7 pence a kWh fixed till the end July. They are oh so kind. Sitting nicely in credit so reduced my DD to £110 after having upped it to £150. Sometimes Eon Next credit a bit more before spring. Maybe because there is still money in their kitty.
  16. @clevoir25 'Inspections' is not necessarily the same as Oil & Inspection service, or 'Oil Service'.Some idiots Techs left 'Inspection' at 12 months even when the cars were on Variable / Flexible servicing from the Factory, which they are all. If the changed to Fixed Servicing that is Oil & Inspection servicing every 372 days / 9,400 miles or sooner. On Variable @ 24 months, 18,000-20,000 miles the 'Inspection' could just be matched to the same time. Which idiot said a TSI is not suited to 'long life servicing'? What VW Group had with 1.4 TSI PHEV,s was Fixed Servicing, now 1.5 TSI PHEV,s do not have that as the regime. PS, when getting Main Dealer Servicing be sure they put on the system they did the Body Inspection for the Corrosion Warranty. It is not required but Skoda / VW UK say if there is a claim there is no RECORD OF THE INSPECTION BEING DONE. Well they know who do not do them, and there is no T&C,s in the Warranty of a Bi-annual or annual inspection. But there Websites on Servicing says it is part of Main Dealer Servicing.
  17. @MP74 If a DQ381 it is according to the Manufacturers @ 80,000, anyone can please them selves though. Did you have the Filter changed at both the services you had done?
  18. How is the oil level now when checked cold, does it look like maybe diluted with diesel? How many miles has it done, and did it get the Emissions Fix done sometime after started in 2017?
  19. I will look again when the new ones are available but i think it will be just a petrol automatic i get.Plenty pre reg or very nearly new ones about for much cheapness compared to the RRP's. Even better bargains than small BEV,s.
  20. Not a huge mileage off it!. I lost 12,500 miles from a Corsa Electric when an Over the Air update was done, or the car did a factory reset at 25,000 miles. Someone owns that EV now that has done more miles than they think it had, thought is was worth when buying it. I was not messing about with the Dealership or Vauxhall because the car was leased and often locked me out, probably OTA updates or foreign lorries CB's wavebands caused it.
  21. @RichardOctavia1 So you have never noticed that the mileage was reduced. I have had MOT,s where the incorrect mileage was logged. How many miles a week or month do you actually do, just to give an idea how many since the last MOT / Service? Was the Service Indicator reset last year?
  22. No retailers sell 98 ron in the UK, the E5 Super Unleaded is 97 or 98 ron minimum. It is not recommended 95 ron in the UK, it is a Minimum of 95 ron for the car, that is E10 in the UK. ESSO Super Unleaded is 99 ron Min in the UK. Not all is the same all around the UK, most regions are supplied / produced by Greenergy and distributed, and some are regions get it produced by ESSO. @OctoParrot What oil would you use then, non Long Life, VW502 00 5w 40 FS, or still long life but VW504 00 / 507 00, 0w 30 FS III or 5w 30 FS III? .............Best discuss with the remapper the Spark Plugs, Filter and any service items to do before remapping and if they have a DSG mapping. Dyno before with the plugs and fuel you will use and after the mapping.
  23. Carbon / emissions trading is the big con in this world. Like the EV Mandate and buying credits from other Car Manufacturers.
  24. Less need to kill and maim people in other countries or blocked them if there was not the greed to take what belongs to others like the USA & UK has done for many a decade. There is not wars hopefully over people stealing electricity generated by Wind, Solar or Hydro. Sadly in current wars there are those knocking out the Nuclear or what ever power plants. eg Ukraine, Palestine. There are Tariff Wars though and that is mainly about the Super Powers / bullies yet again. Oil & Gas rich countries who are just greedy. Now it is Minerals and rare metals / minerals that continues the taking of what others own. ..............................While other countries like Norway can do Carbon Capture the likes of the UK will spend millions or billions of public money and get no place fast. If it was economically viable it would have happened.
  25. Many avoid John Clark Group in Perth or Aberdeen and instead use Dundee Skoda / SEAT part of the John Clark Group. It comes down to the standard of the techs. They can not all be useless, there are very good ones. Pity about the hourly rates and these are maybe justified when it is a qualified & experienced tech doing the job well or supervising trainees work properly..
