  1. @lol-lol Report 3. Winter, public charging. Not the fictional official figures.
  2. @lol-lol 70 miles on Electric or 578.4 MPG. Amazeballs. Now MP,s and Lords or the Realm should get their mileage allowance based on that. Most those that travel the furthest could travel from and to their constituencies for less that £30. see the 3rd report.
  3. @classic I never ran the Tyres the car came on for long enough, just long ennough to know they were ditch finders. Nearly new Toyo & brand NEW Bridgestone. Binned. (The garage fitted them before i bought the car. ATS Euromaster on the site the Dealership owns.) I would not have used them on the roads i drive & the conditions i drive in. I doubt very much there is any loss of range with the CrossClimate 3,s. If anything they would be more efficient. & regardless of that all that matters is you can get about in snow and in and out of Charging bays because they never seem to get cleared of snow. Over the past winters my experience is ploughs actually make them worse in many cases pushing snow to cause a barrier. .............. The MG5 EV is very keen to spin the wheels. & the steering is very light. Good tyres are essential IMO. The Corsa & MINI were very sure footed on All Seasons in all conditions.
  4. Sorry it was in the Mk2 section, i bumped that thread.
  5. Have a look in the Tyre Section. Tyres are Summer & there are 'All Seasons'. There is a thread from a few days ago in this section. Maybe look at that.
  6. @hillbilly Welcome to the forum. I am confused by the engine having to come out to get to the filter? What engine a 1.2 or 1.6 TDI and what filter?
  7. What happens to the value / price of Used ones over £40,000 first registered since April 2025?
  8. Plugging in a PHEV with a 20 kWh battery @ a public charger & 50 pence a kWh, £10. For maybe 55-60 miles on Electric. No incentive there. If Petrol is £6.50 a gallon.
  9. All Pie in the Sky stuff from a Government that can not organise a p!th up in a brewery but think AI might help them out by 2028. The TV Licencing is a total joke as is the DVLA & HMRC. High time they sorted out vehicles & the Registered Keepers or Vehicles 'In Trade' ANPR can flag up various things like even Registered Keepers being a Banned Driver. Yet so many Uninsured or Untaxed vehicles are still out and about and these days 'E-Bikes that can reach 100 mph & that riders are using and taking the Micheal out of Police Officers. Sur-Ron's & others.
  10. As to Motability today. They do not want anyone leasing a Renault 5 EV. The Advance payment is £4.295 - £6,795, then over 3 years you pay over £12,500. If
  11. For a PHEV. say 13 kWh battery, charged at 7.5 pence a kWh and getting 30 miles on electric. 97 pence & then paying 1.5 pence on every mile & VED. 20 kWh battery £1.50 charging & 1.5 pence every mile. But if you Public charge that 20 kWh battery @ 50 pence a kWh you are £10 for maybe 55 miles. Then Paying the 1.5 pence. Actually probably not worth using Public Chargers. Or having a PHEV if a private user with no Home or Cheap charging.
  12. @MikeTheThinker 3 pence a mile. Then maybe the 2 pence a mile for those charging at home. or 10 pence to 30 pence a mile where ever the purchase the electricity out and about. So maybe £3.30 for 10 miles. £33 for 100 miles. It is a total p!$$ take.
  13. The £50,000 threshold is not bothering many Leasing a vehicles be them private or business users. Or even buying. They get the vehicle they want. The Chancellor says Motability will not provide luxury cars. There used to be a £26,000 threshold. Many vehicles that Disabled drivers or passengers are very expensive with the Conversions / Adaptions that are VAT free. They can cost as much or more than Mercedes / BMW,s that some seem to think are luxury. We will see if Mercedes Van / MPV,s are no longer available as wheel chair accessible vehicles, even non prestige brand vehicles can be £80,000. Re the VED+ and 3 pence a mile paying on a EV. Disabled Registered / Higher PIP Mobility drivers or passengers can be VED Exempt. So details on that will be interesting.
  14. Those using Public Commercial Charging paying around 10 times more than offpeak home charging and paying 20% VAT. & private users not able to claim back the VAT.
  15. Business / Commercial users will still do pretty well as will those that can charge at Cheap Tariffs / Home, work etc. Plenty time in the next 3-5 years for some new more efficient ICE vehicles to be on sale before any ban on the new ICE vehicle first registrations. For EV,s now the Luxury VED is from over £50,000. Still £40,000 for ICE / PHEV,s.
  16. & for fixed Service Regime or sooner oil & filter changes VW502 00 spec is perfectly fine. 5w 40 FS not Long Life.
  17. OT on EV,s but this was my Mk2 Cortina Delux which had a Engine & Autobox from a 2000E fitted.
  18. @lol-lol UK electricity prices are not going up BIG TIME in 35 days. Ofgem says there will be a small monthly increase of 28 pence on the price of energy for a typical household who use electricity and gas and pay by direct debit compared to the level between January and March 2025 it is 1% or £20 higher. It is a 0.2% increase in the current cap.
  19. The point is Operating temperature oil change. 'If possible'.
  20. You get ones that do that. You could get them and put on a sticker / decal. 'Bargain'.
  21. Plenty about with the old VRS logo, a green V. No doubt someone will get around to turning out ones with that Font on the grill.
  22. @Breezy_Pete You said exactly the same in 2017. Nobody has to do anything. If charging for a part & 20% VAT it should be changed not put in your own tool box. If not changing it do not charge for it.
  23. Can they not even plug it in for you to see if there is a logged Fault code. It is the EEC light not the DPF light on. Running up the motorway might well be a waste of time. Best get it read for fault codes.
  24. We can DIY any way we want and will have maybe for over 5 decades like you and i. 90*oC Oil never harmed anyone did it? It never harmed us now did it. Remember and tell that to Trainees these days. I served my time when we were Motor Engineers and had Journeyman training us. Different days back then. Different H&S as in none. But a kick up the jacksy for being a Muppet. Not that there were Muppets back then.. ...From a thread 8 years ago. If charging for a Sump Plug and you are sucking out the oil you had best change the sump plug or that is fraud.
