What a load of total guff IMHO, unless maybe doing some world travelling in a region that is not the UK. Scotland just happens to have 32 local authorities and many of these have no commitment to helping get to net zero with the upkeep of public ev chargers. £5 minimum charge here and i am at £6 after nearly 3 hours. Now 12 kWh of a charge. The other car must have unplugged and now i am getting 6 kW i expect.

PS. So 45 minutes & it had charged 2.2 kWh. The other car plugged in is a 28 kW 2020 Hyundai Ionic and with 22 kW charger is only giving us 3 kW each not even 6 kW each. So likely in 5 hours plugged in max I get is 15 kW at 55 pence a kWh. I will be heading 4 miles to the Farm Shop to get a charge in the DC @ 55 pence a kWh.

Girvan harbour DC charger only 1 in town and 5 weeks I have been reporting out of service. Today I was there early before some teacher would put on AC charger all day even though max 5 hours. Car get charged and stays plugged in locked in. Not even moved at lunch time. So one car charging on B. Post A fails to start. I try 3 times. Then 3 times with electroverse. Then call CPS. Poor mobile reception area. Get the usual script. A fault with your card. I used it yesterday. Close windows and lock doors. I tell him that makes no difference and never ever has. He tells me charger working and he can not start remotely. I told him he can he is on a mobile to me and he is in Broughty Ferry and the SIM in the charger gets a signal. Phone goes dead. Charger starts. I try calling back as I want to report the big charger. No signal. Then he calls me. I give him charger number and he says he will check. He says out if service 4 weeks. I said 6 and 5 since I first reported. Line went dead. Got a call to do satisfaction survey just now.

Just important to know where when Stone Cold and no engine started and also where that is as per Skoda Oil Check, at normal operating temp after stopped a few minutes on the flat. Then you can always be sure enough oil in before a trip amd not needing to get oil while on one.

So was there plenty of washer fluid because all cars do not have a low fluid warning?

They might well try the no perforation route as per usual. But to them the hole might not be visible, but when you get to grinding down the paint there are tiny perforations in the metal. Up till 2012 or so with Service Books there was 2 pages after the service page with a car diagram and you put where any damage was on the vehicle. Poor repair or no repair. Then it went to being done on a palm top device. This carry on with a Free Car Wash after a service. It should be done before a service and that person should be trained to spot damage not cause it, or the tech then has a clean car to check. Outside and under when on the ramp. Body inspections are like road tests at a service. False pretences / fraud by main dealers that charge a premium and the Manufacturers / importers conspiring in the deception

Sadly even with a brand new car which has supposedly had a PDI done by a trained person it is important to check levels at hand over then when home or next day to compare. Also tyre pressures because if they are set poorly or never set then that gives an idea of the dudes / dudettes being hopeless and not giving a damn.

Skoda , Seat and VW UK and Germany, Spain and Czechia know a fundamental design and manufacturing fault and the corrosion comes from behind the metal and owner sees and behind the paint. So the have had 17 years to be sure Dealership employees check while doing body inspections. Issue a TPI /TSB. What ever some desk jockey says about not being corrosion is just the usual P!$$ take from their Customer Services / Warranty contractors.

Sadly I doubt that I will be able to get a used new Range Rover EV even if they end up discounted or depreciated by 90%.

@Seba800 what engine does your Superb happen to have so that some idea what DSG you have? A smaller TSI with a DQ200 or a bigger tsi or TDI and a DQ381?

I liked this Alpine with just some blue trim. Dogs out for whatever before trip. Anyway. An early start and only 6 degrees C, lots of rain and today that ment 20-30 miles less range than over the past weeks of higher temps. Meant charging to add a few miles before my destination just 5 miles further on. New chargers going in hopefully.

The T&c,s of the warranty on paint 3 years or corrosion 12 years does not say anything on annual, bi-annual or periodic inspections required. But Skoda Servicing details 'body inspections' as part of servicing and Skoda / VW UK knows exactly which Dealerships employees are not carrying out body inspections while doing oil and inspection services or extended scope or minor and major services as they were up to 2019/ 20. Techs / fitters sign off a service, workshop managers or service managers and dealer principals know if there dealerships do Body Inspections during a service.

@cwt did you lift the bonnet and check that the oil filler cap was on? Had you checked the oil level and coolant level when collecting car and before leaving with it. Maybe just the drain plug not renewed or washer when serviced or plug cross threaded.

The wheel will fit. Is the 10 year old tyre OK, and as far as being big enough is it pretty much the same circumference as on the Mk4?

@Westie99 Best give some idea of things, Age and miles cars done, & when it was last serviced? What has it had done at the service, spark plugs changed? Did the clutch get replaced yet?

What have they actually done since getting the car? and is it dismantled? Time that you had the car moved to someone that knows a bit more than those sitting with your car. A good idea to get the fault codes that are logged.

@jaychen What is the law or regulations in Australia (or is it Austria) on a Decat / DPF removal?

There is no REGULAR Servicing scheduled, advised or recommended for a DQ200 DSG which has 2 oils and a tiny filter in the MCU. This is not to say that you can not change both oils, but a main Dealership might not be prepared to, but a Service Desk person might advise it is done and will book it in, and then have no idea of the cost of Servicing a DQ200 DSG. Get done at an Automatic Gearbox specialist if getting done.

There are bound to be 1.4 tsi PHEV,s that did not get Fixed Regime oil changes. No reports I am aware of these engines in a PHEV having issues. Are you getting a warranty? As long as the warranty provider would not say 'not serviced to the manufacturers schedule, recommendations or advice '. Which is something Skoda UK does quite regularly.

Is that a 1.5 tsi phev? They are on variable oil servicing. Vorsprung Dutch Technik. But if you run one mostly on electric would you leave the same oil in from the factory for 2 years?

Location location location. Long queuing is not necessary if you are visiting charging hubs with plenty ultra rapid chargers and these are not very busy sites. Towing is an issue as far as charging unless it is the type of charging hubs designed to allow vehicles to charge while still hitched up to what ever and not requiring unhitching and re-hitching. I expect the range with a horse box and horse at the Max Gross weight allowed will be greatly reduced. Could it even be half the range.

PS, maybe more important, change to vw 504 00 / 507 00 5w 30 FS III, or even vw502 00 so 5w 40 FS since you are going with fixed service oil and filter. Remember the DQ400e DSG service oil and filter is @40,000 miles. As are spark plugs, and check the air filter every service not at 60,000 miles as per Skoda schedule.
