Engine oil is a coolant, and the coolant is to bring the oil temperature down to nearer than that 10*oC or more difference. Is the Anti Freeze / Summer coolant / rust inhibitor AKA the coolant at the correct ratio / strength for your use / ambient temps? There is a reason some use Radiator Blinds / Screens in cold weather conditions. To speed up the heating of the coolant / engine / engine oil & to keep an efficient oil temperature.

Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedures / WLTP is really not Real World or World Wide Testing, it is often the figure that is the battery capacity and times the max miles it might go per kWh. 4 miles is one thing, 5 miles often a wish and a dream, and where a 29 kWh gross 27.5 kWh usable times 6 is taking the p!th. eg Renault Twingo EV 163 miles WLTP. RDE2 = Real Driving Emissions Step 2. ICE vehicles. Can also be kidology / fiction.

Hopefully the ADAC cleaned up their act and are no longer Little Liars when it comes to VW products. 9% loss of a battery capacity is more than only 8 miles, even if a 100 kW Battery.

There are posts on here from members or a member saying he had advice from Skoda UK, and it was then posted as from a Dealership. Then when they tried getting a Main Dealer to service the DQ200 DSG on their 1.5 TSI ACT they could not get one to do it. But plenty Automatic Gearbox Specialists around that will service a DQ200. Nit that the MCU oil needs changing at 40,000 miles. Unless you want to have done obviously..

@coolman2 Are you in the UK and what sort of ambient temp was there. I would try a charger that is 50 kW max and see what it ramps up to as a max & how long it keeps charging at a higher kW. How long did it take you to get a charge with 40 kW max & how long did it keep at that? I would talk to the Master Tech and ask if there is any information on Skoda reducing Max Charging speeds for any reason. Worth having the Dealership put the car on their Rapid DC charger if they have one to see what is what.

@yan101 Where did you read of a revised suggestion of the MCU oil changed at 40,000 miles? Could you maybe put up a link? VW Group have had over 16 years to give any Service Schedule for the MCU oil or the Oil in the box of a DQ200 DSG. There gets to be a build up of stoor in beside the dry clutches.

Software /Hardware not in anyway an issue. eg Black Boxes fitted for Insurance discounts, car trackers as used for Security and Hire, Loan, Company cars and Dealership / Manufacturers Courtesy cars and demonstrators. Now the 4 countries of the UK and Law & Legislation for something compulsory is a different matter. Data / Information Security and a Provider / Contractor. Maybe they could get FUJITSU or maybe Huawei to be responsible for the administration and security...

The beauty of Main Dealerships is the vehicles new and used sitting about the place. Easy for the Receptionist or a Tech / Fitter or salesperson to go with the key to a car leave it in and see if the car locks with it in.

@lol-lol BEV,s do handshake with chargers. ? So what chargers / Charging provider is it that you can just plug into and off the charging goes like Tesla,s at Superchargers.? You obviously have have an Account with your payment details

The car is not designed to lock with a keyless entry key in it when parked with the ignition off.

That is 'Range / guessing'. Shown on driving and recent efficiency. Unlike with some EV,s which maybe when at 100% show the range based on 4 miles or maybe 5 miles a kWh. Others might actually show based on the actual average 3.1 miles. But charge to 100% and it is back to what gets published as WLTP possible range. As to the Mileometer and tyre size, pressures being different, you sometimes get a few tenths of a mile difference showing between setting at the start of a journey to zero and the total miles that the many mileage shows. I tend to start my Smart Watch or phone on a Trip App and see how many miles the GPS says i have done compared to the vehicle showing.

@VooDoo Sorry but £77 of fuel means nothing as no idea how many litres you get for that where you buy it. But if 144 pence a litre £6.55 ish a gallon) you got about 11.8 gallons. Less than 53 litres. So that is not filled right up is it? Has it got a 60 litre fuel tank? 333 miles divided by 11.8 is 28.2 MPG, but you are not empty. Fill it up and see once it shows only 40 mile range maybe.

The 5 year / 50,000 miles Cambelt Change in the UK with a TSI was crazy, even with a ACT or COD. VW Group put out the Press Release / TPI in June 2023. Listen to them or make up your own mind how long you want to keep the Cambelt fitted. As much as for 150,000 miles / 15 years if you want. £850-£1,200 is a lot of money to spend out. But if it is peace of mind, then go ahead.

@Graham Butcher Have you driven a BEV? It is not just all about owning one. You can get as a courtesy car, or on loan and charged and ready to go and maybe never need to charge them. Or hire sometime. There are Car Clubs etc. Are there any members posting on this forum that have only ever had Electric cars, or New ICE vehicles, or ICE vehicles no more than a year or 3 old? I have never driven a bus, a road roller, or flown a plane but have an idea about them. Not enough to be debating the merits of them though.

I have asked the Mods to move to the Fabia section where you might get replies. 115,000 is not a lot for a car at least 18 years old. So it is a 2.0 petrol you are looking at.

? Do people who tried a BEV not find what a pleasure they can be to drive? Fantastic in the cold or wet or cold and wet to just get in be it pre conditioned or not. Almost instant heat and clear interior glass. Those that have never tried one or more should maybe do so. & Get an idea what it is they are discussing.

You can pay some money and online get the Servicing Info for your car. It will show what Dealers never do like Sunroofs. Or that VW Group UK was taking the Pith with 5 years / 50,000 mile Cam Belt changes up to 2023. & even more so since the UK is not considered 'Dust Rich'. Unless you live or work near a quarry maybe.
