Gear number display on Virtual Cockpit
A decision was made at Skoda / VW that with a DSG it was not necessary for you to be able to see what gear it chooses. Vorsprung Durch Technik!

the truth about electric cars
@lol-lol The Tax man will be having a nice amount off you once you get that State Pension & your Personal Pension. They take from those with just a small personal pension. Andrew Mountbatten Windsor will be getting the £230 a week from next February and he has his Naval Pension and as well to be getting taxed, and if there is justice in the world there might be more money they find that needs taxing.

the truth about electric cars
They are more costly pence per mile for energy buying electric at public chargers to get Rapid or Ultra Rapid charging than an ICE vehicle. That is when you get to about 60 pence a kWh or more including VAT & maybe nothing like 4.5-6 miles a kWh. This is private users spending their money to fuel the vehicle. Lets not worry about those with nice Tax Breaks, Salary Sacrifice, cheap home or workplace charging and maybe 5% VAT on the Electricity. 70 pence a kWh.

EV real world range and cost to charge
Unable to charge last night @ cheaper 50 pence a kWh which would have been 5 hours for 32 kWh & £15.50 as charger not working and it was pithing down and i was not walking in that for 5 minutes or more. So on the 50 kW DC this morning at 70 pence a kWh. There is a Max 60 minutes stay time. 32 kWh £22.40 That is good for 110 miles or so. The 40% / 20 kWh in the battery before charging was bought at 61 pence a kWh. £12.20 ***So £34.60 for maybe 170 miles.*** 20% of that VAT. £1.98 & £3.71 = £5.69. If an ICE getting 45 mpg & 135 pence a liter that would be 3.7 Gallons / 17 liter'is, £22.70 ...................................... That charging at home would be 52 kWh @ 6.7 pence so £3.50. 5% being VAT. Rumour / word on the street / & in the Media. PAY PER MILE over and above the common ridiculous Public Charging tariffs with the 20% VAT. They are not all in it together in Politics, Government, Parliament they are on paid for travel expenses and out of touch with the real world.

the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher We know who wants & imposed the Mandates on less emission vehicles. It is one thing the Tax & Duty on liquid transport fuel and maybe some cheap and some like on motorways expensive, maybe 25% difference. Yes there are vehicles more economic using fuel than others. But we are talking 20% VAT on Electricity bought at public chargers with a price difference of 80 pence or more a kWh. Then there are more efficient BEV,s and less efficient. So like ICE vehicles.
-
the truth about electric cars
Those using Public Charging are already paying 20% VAT on anything from 16 pence to 100 pence a kWh including the VAT. Then there are those business users that can reclaim the VAT, & the people already well taxed on income that have to just suck it up out of there income after tax. Same as buying liquid fuel really.

205/40r16 options!
Doesn't matter. @Carlston can tell you all the scores on the doors. Tyre / Springs etc.

205/40r16 options!
As i posted, typo in title. you have 205/40 r16. Yes a mk2, i know that. It is a 2013 model you say that. Mk3,s come in late 2014 into 2015. I do not know of on standard springs or lowered as you comment on tyres to body. Or maybe the suspension parts need refreshed. A Scout in not higher, such standard clearance and Body Trim Parts. An Estate is 8 3/4" longer than a hatch and as standard has higher rated springs on the rear as standard i seem to remember. Are the tyres on XL / Reinforced sidewalls? EDIT, sorry missed some of your post. so not XL just these....

205/40r16 options!
Typo in the title if it is on 205/45 R 16,s now. A Mk3 Fabia size as well. Why not go 195/ 50 R 16 with the wheels you have. & Maybe all season tyres. @Carlston could tell you sizes, or look at the many many similar threads on this forum on wheel sizes and tyres.

the truth about electric cars
#Memories Ford & Land Rover, & BMW, & Volvo and on and on. & Suzuki used Mazda engines and so did Fiat. What a wonderful world. Mercedes used Renault engines. Turning back time. Here we are in the Electric Vehicle section talking about discontinued models again.

the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher What have Stellantis / Fiat & the 500 to do with Ford? Which Ford model, the Puma? Or are we rolling back time again to the good old ICE only Era? Fiat are bringing back the 500 with a hybrid drivetrain.

In trade insurance
In my area the DVLA are around lots clamping cars. In the past the DVLA used to notify the Local Police Station of Untaxed vehicles and when the patrols were out at night they used to check for vehicles. The DVLA are sometimes not interested in vehicles with no VED in some regions and dead hot on them in others.. Fixed penalties are sent to Registered Keepers. That is a joke. As is the £1,000 penaltie they can threat even when you no longer are a Registered Keeper and they know you are not.

In trade insurance
I used my local Council website to report an abandoned van. Rather than just a call to the general council number as no idea which department has the van. It has VED & Insurance, through Council Group Insurance, because it is one of their vans that the employee leaves for days or weeks plugged into a Public Charger the Council provides. The lead locked in and the charging is completed & the general public are deprived of using the charger. At another charger during Covid it was left for 10 weeks plugged in and when reported to the council nothing was done. When there was a Royal Visit coming from Edward & Sophie it was reported as a suspicious vehicle and got moved.

If parked on roads just check VED status & MOT on the DVLA web page.

the truth about electric cars
The dreadful Capri EV is lovely to drive, IMO and the last of the ICE were built nearly 40 years ago so many EV drivers were not even born then. I tried a dreadful MG4 XPower a few days ago. Like sh!t off shovel and all-wheel drive but really needs better tyres fitted. Both available at getting on for 'Much cheapness' used and will be getting cheaper by each month and quarter as plenty about for sale.

In trade insurance
The post is not about Trade Plates which allow the use of vehicles without any VED but not for private use. It is about legitimate Traders Insurance. Vehicles and business usage in the Motor Trade, the companies or customers.

the truth about electric cars
The actual 0-62 time is sometimes not accurate and they are faster than advertised / published, then the is the 'Lack of traction' Lack of acceleration!. Potential max Power / Torque and the acceleration speed of Stellantis or others EV,s, Family cars, Taxis, Vans etc really does not matter on real roads in towns / cities as there can be wet / slick roads and the ECO Bias tyres that are fitted. Ones to give max range. Also SPORTY ones on Sporty Models that might have Limited Slip Diffs as the Hot Hatch ones are now available with. Same with Hybrids or just ICE vehicles.
