That must be so frustrating :(, I hired a Milwaukee cordless impact gun from Speedy for the fronts. Amazing tool. Quite cheap to hire too.

Rear coil spring (1 blue 1 yellow) part number needed to replace on a 1Z5 2010 Mk2 Octavia Vrs Estate
Sorry, I missed this. We have both been doing same job on exact same car and age Front and back springs and Bilsten shocks all round Mine had 1K0411105DA on front and 1K0511115BS , however they were red, red, red grey on front. I had lots of faffing with parts. In end I went for Sachs springs (not the best, but had part numbers) Front 998 411 Rear 994 454 Drives like a dream though, now

Front wheel bearing
I have just done 2 on mine over weekend. 4 hole. I took whole thing off from top strut mounts as I was doing all suspension and ball joint. You can do it with it on vehicle. You need to pull out CV and undo 3 nuts on ball joint to get good access. Axle bolt can be fun, mine was great one side and a right ****** on the left. Mine was very rusty so had to put the old bolts back into bearing knock the bearing / housing out. Echo the sanding / emery paper to get new one in, as not too great under there. But mine is 10 years old. Getting the Torque extra turn of new bolts, 70 Nm, plus 90 degrees needed a bit of muscle. I used FAG bearing which is what I think was on there from Factory. Some good offers on ebay. I paid £54 each.

Reinstalling inner tie rod boot clamp onto rack - anyone used the real clip
I have the special crimp tool. Has anyone managed to get the real clip back on the inner boot. There is no room for the tool. If so, how did you do it please? Have a jubilee clip tightened on there as a temporary measure. Thanks

Front axle nut rusted solid, any ideas please
Finally it came free. Bought an impact socket for that Milwaukee, said for VW axle bolts 🤷🏻♂️. Put my daughter in as light to push brakes. Car on ground. After a few times gunning, it freed 👍🏻👍🏻🤷🏻♂️ These are amazing. Pricey unless you are a Pro, But Speedy hire them for £30 for weekend. You can programme settings so you do not over torque. https://uk.milwaukeetool.eu/en-gb/one-key-fuel-8243;-impact-wrench-with-friction-ring/m18-onefhiwf12/ Thanks for all your help.

Front axle nut rusted solid, any ideas please
Thanks, I need a decent pipe, as only have the breaker bar. I have also seen a couple of people use a trolley jack to push against the bar to force it off on a breaker bar. I might try that first.

Front axle nut rusted solid, any ideas please
Thanks gents, It is drivable. I think taking to a garage, with a non ribbed in my hand will help 😜. i am always concerned with heat. Did cross my mind. Going to try one more socket that is impact as my current is draper expert top 1/2 inch joint beginning to get eaten.

Front axle nut rusted solid, any ideas please
I did the right side, no probs. It is the style of multi 12 point with ribs on underside of head. They superseded that bolt, to smooth underside. Think I know why !! left side. Pb blaster, 1m breaker bar, 2 blokes standing on it, Hired a high torque Milwaukee Fuel, no movement. The one they use on trucks, 1/2 inch. Anyone overcome this? Bit stuck for a next step. Any ideas massively appreciated.

Front brake pad recommendations
I just put Pagid discs and pads all round on my 2010 VRS, 2nd replacement since having car. Very good braking response. IMHO I really like them. Not sure on your newer version but on mine had to double check the rear discs are correct size. Can't remember why.

Ball joint 3 nuts torque to wishbone 2010 1Z5 - 1K0 407 151 BC
I have been looking around and most seem to say the 3 bolts on wish bone are 60 Nm. The Online manuals and a Golf manual using same wishbone say it should be 100Nm for sheet steel or 60Nm for cast arms. Has anyone torqued the 3 nuts this high please?

Is my Outer CV gone please, car in bits (not like crying) ? Really appreciate if you can help and look at quick video
I have been replacing, struts, coils, wheel bearings and ball joint. Before I rebuild it. Is my outer CV gone please? I have a video of me holding the drive shaft and pushing in and out on the out joint. It clicks and has some horizontal play. Is that normal, Don't want to put back together if this bad. Don't know anything about what a CV joint should feel like. Would be very grateful if you can look :)) OUTER JOINT SHORT VIDEO https://www.dropbox.com/s/bjbqxrmfetdqwbl/IS_OUTER_CV_GONE.mov?dl=0

I have 2010 FL VRS estate Been sent these Bilstein 36-199648 from my VIN number - but otters online say this for 1Z3 hatch To name one site https://www.mdmtechnik.co.uk/product/bilstein-oe-replacement-rear-suspension-coil-springs-36-199648/ But most online sources say 36-199655 for 1Z5 estate Anyone changed their springs, or know of a database to confirm correct part please?

Is that a VRS estate or hatch please?

Replacing Front Springs
you are good. I found that out too yesterday. The Bilstein lists it as BT part ending. That’s why I want to physically compare them. But even the drawings on the vw catalogue lists more spring codes. I also wonder what the technical difference is between the coils for estate and hatch back. Are the estates a larger diameter?

Replacing Front Springs
Interesting, I was going to put Sachs springs on mine. I have them for is rear. Then I ordered the Bilsten to compare them next to each other. The Bilsten are still on route. The Sachs is 994454 - oem 1K0511115BS which is only for Skoda VRS estate. Plus fits some Golf 6’s. where as the Bilstein are only for the RS 36-199655, (maybe fits other cars but thats all that they list)

Rear top strut mounts manufacturer make
VRS Estate petrol 2010. I bought an online part for top strut. It came as Topran, I was a little concerned it was poor quality. I ordered a Femi Bilsten to follow make of the Bilsten shocks and coils I ordered. Are Topran any good or am I better off with the Febi. They both look identical at feel really cheap. Is this an OEM only buy or am I being picky. Any help appreciated

Front Wheel Bearing
sorry, mine has 4 bolts. I think that is due to 312 mm disc. the bolt sizes are same though.
