  1. And I'm still in my 1st octy, a Mk1 vRS from 2002 which I have owned from new. Waiting for my new vRS tho, build week 35.....
  2. PMSL...... I'm glad you seemed to have picked up a bargain, because if YOU check on Autotrader, I think you will find the cheapest 2006 vRS Petrol on there is £7200 Fingers crossed yours isn't two that have been glued together
  3. Just took a look at parkers for a 3 year old octavia, prices came in about £1100 different for diesel and petrol (which is about the same difference as when new) So, would love to know how you will see a £3-5000 difference when you come to sell it, Pal.....
  4. I agree about the taxi bit, I have a Mk 1 octy vRS which is going as I have ordered a new vRS, wk build 35, so should see it mid september. My neighbour has an audi diesel, and leaves before me everyday to go to work, and I have to say, it sounds horribley like a taxi Hence, I ordered a new petrol one...... I also only do about 10'000 a year, so saw it as being pretty level as regards costs Steve
  5. Been for a good run today in it, have to say, very impressive! I can see what people meant by its like driving a diesel, it pulls so well in low revs. If the 1.2 is this good, cant wait for my octy vrs to arrive in september....
  6. No chrome handles on the SE we picked up yesterday, but the windows defo look tinted to me....
  7. Ok, hopefully these work..... Not taken any inside as the sun and shadows were killing the pics, will do that again.... Steve
  8. before i go and take a load of pics, anything anyone wants to see in particular? (the car people, the car....)
  9. Thanks for the responses guys, picked it up today, and very happy... Will add some pics over the next few days, but first impressions are it feels like a much bigger car, well built and quiet when running. Engine pulls great, and glad we went for the 105bhp version, but having an octy vrs myself, we are used to how the turbo engines should be driven. All round great little car, happy with the sound system, comfortable, and very roomy for what is classed as a supermini Just got to wait for my new Octy vrs to be built and shipped now.... Roll on Mid September Steve
  10. Obviously I know nothing An ex Hire car due its 2nd service on an 06 plate? With no service book? I did ask what the milage was, before you jumped on me 2 footed........ Steve
  11. Ex hire car with no service book, can't say i would have touched that with a bargepole...... How many miles showing on it?
  12. Morning all, currently driving a mk1 octy vrs, which I have owned for 8 years from new. Ordered a new octy vrs in June, so waiting for delivery of that, but the fabia caught my eye as a replacement for swmbo's fiat punto. Had a good look around it yesterday, as it was the only one they had in stock that wasn't sold, or too expensive. We bought it there and then! Is there anywhere with a decent review on the engine etc, I know it's a new one but always interested in a good review. The model we bought was the SE, which had the same bits as her old fiat, but with aircon, which will be a nice addition for her. Pics to be sorted when we pick it up on Wednesday, after it's been prepped and plated Cheers Steve
  13. Try and find some sort of antibac aerosol (a fine mist one), put the air con on full on recirc, leave a window open an inch, spray it all in and leave the aircon running Worked on mine! Steve
  14. do a forecast of the difference between 2 cars on parkers, 1 at say 06 plate, and 1 at 56 plate, and see the difference between the 2, then take it with you when you go to see them (if it makes a difference, do a few variations until the best one suits you.....) Steve
  15. I'd be excited about having the new car, but i'd also be tempted to get them to keep it for the new Reg.......
  16. http://uk.cars.yahoo.com/20072010/36/britain-s-most-expensive-car-wash-0.html
  17. Yep, build week 35 for me, race blue petrol estate, which is 1st week september, so hopefully mid to late september delivery
  18. Part ex, and yep, had it from brand new, after seeing my neighbours silver one glistening on his drive, I thought, Hmmm, thats nice, and a lot of car for the money. Only got offered £2300 from Skoda newport for the part ex, but saying that, will need new discs and pads all round, cam belt was done 2 years ago, other than that, not in bad nick, 3 little dints (bloody supermarkets), and baker 21 would be ashamed of the swirlmarks (loads of car wahes in its early years....) But, runs like a dream...... The current no vat offer with Skoda made it worthwhile to look at changeing, and have to be honest, there was no way I was leaving Skoda just yet, looking forward to the 200bhp of the new model. Steve
  19. I have ordered my 2.0 vRS petrol (race blue estate) with spare wheel on 10th June, and been given a build date for week 35 (1st week september) so should hopefully see it mid-late september My colleague has ordered the L & K 2.0 Diesel (black) with spare wheel, same date, and he has been given week 37 build So the diesels are taking slightly longer to come through Cheers Steve
  20. Hi Guys As the title suggests, my partnership with my 2002 vRS is almost at an end. :'( Not sure if this is the longest partnership on this forum or not?? I would have had her for 8 years in October, but sadly, we are parting company in September, as that is when my new Blue vRS Petrol estate will be sailing its way to me. I have a build week of week 35, which is the 1st week of september, so should be here mid to late september I have to say my current octavia is the best car i have ever driven, let alone owned, and will miss her a lot. I would also like to thank all you guys (and Girls) on this site for all the useful info that i have read during the last few years, it really has been a ball! From helping out with taking seats out, temp sensor, thermostat and all the usual niggles such as water ingress when opening boot (one of the reasons I have gone for an estate this time, along with more room for a demanding 3 yr old....yeah, yeah, I'm not gonna put her in the boot....) Part numbers, prices, quotes and even insane idea's, this site has been awesome And i'll still be keeping an eye out on here, and hopefully my old girl will turn up somewhere where she's loved..... Thanks to you all!! Steve
  21. Any before or after pics? Just so we can see what can be achieved.....
  22. Same sort of thing here, I have had my Mk1 vRS for 8 years this october, and gotta be honest have loved every minute in it. I have now ordered a shiny new blue vrs estate in petrol, as I dont do a great deal of miles. The VAT offer has helped this enormously, coupled with the fact I will probably keep this one another 8 years, so i have added no extras, other than the spare wheel, as I see the extra's as things that may go wrong with the car, and just added expense when not really needed. My last vrs was standard, no extras added, and have to be honest, has never been off the road for anything other than service My last one cost 15100, and i have got 2100 as a trade in, so its cost 13'000 to buy over 8 years (as a rough working out) Great value at 1625 per year, a pleasure to drive, and still in pretty good nick, although by the time it goes in will need timing belt, tyres and discs and pads all around (hence the low trade in value methinks....) Roll on the new one, cant wait!! Steve
  23. Lol, in a word.................Hearse........
