  1. Not as nice as the blue with the white roof and the white wheels in the showroom. Also saw the fabia vrs in estate form today, really dont like it. So glad i have an octy vrs estate instead!!
  2. Untitled by sdwilliams72, on Flickr This one at newport skoda....Today!
  3. Just been to drop the wifes fabia at skoda newport for a service, 8 octy vrs on the forecourt.....
  4. Have you got a pic of it in red? My Mk 1 vRS was red, loved it, but didnt fancy my new estate in red so went with Blue, as everyone else was buying common candy white (looks like a van) For me, I was torn between red or blue, but I had my Mk1 for 8 years from new in red, and just fancied a change..... Steve
  5. Got in the car yesterday, and the Bolero screen went white, was still playing just couldnt see anything. All buttons still worked.... Turned it off, back on, still white Finished my journey locked up the car, turned it on this morning and its fine....... Anyone had anything like this? Steve
  6. Tesco put our renewal up by 25%, so we go compared and found cheaper, spoke to tesco who then reduced by 30% to match a different quote. If it wasnt for the fact they dealt with a claim for us in a 1st class manner a few years back, I would have told them to stuff it!! We did find 1 that was half the price of tesco, but excess was really high, and i had never heard of them.....
  7. Wow, can't believe what a bad drive into work that was, I have the Conti's on the vRS and I have to say, they are not good in the snow, the slightest incline caused major problems, living in Wales, thats not good. My old vRS had Vreidsteins on and they coped much better, maybe next year i'll save up for winters...... Steve
  8. I Had my Mk 1 Octy vRS for 8 years before i decided to swap, and that was down to it having done 96k miles, a clutch which by my reckoning would have started to go in the next 10k, new tyres needed all around, new brakes needed all around as per MOT notes, so really, just general wear and tear, but would have cost a bit to keep it going. If it doesnt need much doing, I gotta be honest I would keep it, its not costing you anything, its low milage, and it will keep my Blue Octy vRS Estate in a class of its own...... Good luck with whatever you decide Steve
  9. 60 plate (mid sept) TSI, just short of 2000 miles.... God, I love her..... Steve
  10. I cable tied my mark 1 octy pipe so it didnt come off, it worked too, until it decided to come apart in another place which was a pain to get to, and soaked the inside carpet of the car and the cd changer (in the boot on a mk1) Not sure where it runs in the mk2.....
  11. My Wife has now covered just over 2000 miles in her 105bhp fabia (Non DSG) Great little car, not used a drop of oil, the torque is amazing, its like driving a Diesel. Fuel economy is running about 38mpg at the moment, but have had it around the 55mpg mark on a few motorway runs. Its quiet, comfortable and goes well when you need it to Cracking little car Steve
  12. Untitled by sdwilliams72, on Flickr Blue estate for me, had it for 2 months now, love it..... Steve
  13. Checked my wifes 1.2 tsi today, now done 2,200 and oil was towards the max side of the dipstick! Happy as larry, i do like her car.....
  14. Aha, didnt notice that sorry, I wouldnt have thought that there would be a standard between wheels and tyres, due to differing weights of cars etc Or, I could be talking gibberish... Generally, I have always filled to about 32 anyways, which is better than the 26.5psi that was in them all this morning...... Steve
  15. It usually tells you in ur handbook under tyres, or on the inside of your filler flap.
  16. Just a quickie, checked all the tyre pressures on my vRS and on SWMBO's Fabia this morning, all down by about 5psi Seems to be the cold weather affecting them, so may be worth checking them out.... Steve
  17. I actually drove my wifes around for a bit yesterday, did 17 miles, about half through town and half on the M4 around newport (50mph limits all thru newport now....) Average mpg when i got home..........51.9 Also checked her mpg on number 2 setting, its currently at 43mpg so is improving Steve
  18. According to the trip pc, my wifes fab 105 is doing 37mpg at the moment. Again, only 1700 miles on it and would like to think it will improve, although she really only does round town driving in it
  19. Hmmm.... I know of at least one demo fab vRS that had needed a trip to the bodyshop The sales guy at the dealership told me he was surprised it took that long.......
  20. Traded in my old one at newport Skoda, popped back there 2 weeks later, and it was in the compound out the back. It was a 52 plate with 94k on it, not in bad nick, but needed new brakes all round, tyres soon and was on original clutch, so I didnt wanna spend on it. Just wonder if one of the techies there took it on, as other than the run of the mill stuff, it ran superb, and just a couple of tiny dints in the bodywork
  21. Or that the steering wheel is at its futhest reach, and lowest position...
  22. Awesome, especially when they look as good as this...... Untitled by sdwilliams72, on Flickr
  23. Grrrr...... Annoying! I had 3 little dents in my old octy, other than that it was spotless, and all 3 of those occured whilst I was nowhere near it.... I once reversed into a car, smashed the headlight, did the honourable thing, left a note... 3 weeks later, I had a letter thru the door, thanking me for being so honest, and telling me to forget it, as they had managed to get 1 from a scrappy for a fiver. I'll bet the car that hit you was uninsured, untaxed, joyridden or Drunks Oh for 5 mins in a dark alleyway.......
  24. I have just gone from my mk1 vRS (1.8T) to a 2.0 petrol vRS Gotta be honest, I really dont find that much difference between the 2 at all, power wise they both seem very similar, so I am assuming the new 1.8 will be pretty good too. I went for the vRS petrol, my work colleague went for the L&K Diesel, they came in around the same price, gotta be honest, he is a bit gutted because mine looks the Dogs danglies, whereas his looks like a taxi And sounds like one........ Steve
  25. Snow foamed, bucket washed, autoglym egp, and autoglym aquawax Looks amazing now...... And very blue...... Steve
