  1. Thanks for the lift offers, very kind :-) Will let you know if I'm able to go along.
  2. I might be able to make it along to the transport museum (I still haven't been yet!). I'll be on the train though! After that I probably won't have a Skoda so I don't know if I'll be welcome along or not I'll be going along to Knockhill for the BTCC this year too; I've missed the last two years as I've been on holiday so we've booked that for a bit later on in the year this time.
  3. Not sure yet, I'm not swapping for a few months. I'll probably trade it in when I decide what it is I'm replacing it with.
  4. I've always liked the idea of heated roads ...
  5. No need - there are loads of good places to go in the county! (I lived there til I was 25 so I've seen a fair bit of it). For the record I've had some good days out at Clumber Park - I used to go cycling there back in the day
  6. It's on the list - I could do with more luggage space
  7. That isn't a bad picture of it ... it misses out the big lump of green polyfilla sticking out the side! There are rumoured to be oak trees in Sherwood forest much older than the Major Oak but you have to hunt for them. I'm going to have to stick with Notts and say Nottingham Castle ... the grounds are nice enough but it doesn't even look like a castle!
  8. Wow it's four years since I went to the national meet at Gaydon! It was a great day out I won't have a Skoda by then either.
  9. It astounds me how many people who drive 4x4s assume that if it snows they can drive at normal road speeds because they have 4WD. My work sent me on a 4x4 driving course before Christmas. The place I went was under quite alot of snow and ice and we spent a lot of time going through techniques on how to drive when there's limited traction. I've always been a confident driver but the course was worth every penny (well, if I'd paid for it!). The main conclusion to the course though was still not to go out if the weather's too bad.
  10. I'm seeing this a bit differently. I used to go swimming once a week with school, and once a week with my mum. I was good enough to swim a width of my local pool, just. I haven't been in a pool for 20 years and have no intention to. I hate swimming and being in water at more than knee height - or even thinking about it - makes me panic. So it's probably safe for me to say that I can't swim. My brother, on the other hand, can swim like a fish.
  11. That's really good, thanks for sharing
  12. This is just down the road from me - I might have a walk down for a nosey and say Hi
  13. Well it worked ... At least he saw the funny side.
  14. I've just had a listen. I feel sad now. :(
  15. I really enjoy it! We'll be doing the flat this year. It takes me ages to decide on colours though - there are little green painted squares behind all the pictures in the hall
  16. My grandad used to be playing songs all the time when I was in single figures. Stuff you don't hear any more. Now everytime I have something stuck in my head and I try and think of something else to get rid of it, there's always one song that pops in there: I wish it would go away ....
  17. It isn't even cold here ...
