  1. No DPF issues with my 1.6 after 6k miles but I do 63 miles a day on the commute.
  2. Fuely sig details my Elegance 1.6 DSG consumption driven carefully but still it is no where near the published figures.
  3. No bolts (Tow bar fitter probably nabbed or re-used them). Pm sent.
  4. I have the same tyres but only at 6k miles and no issues. These Dunlops are a soft compound and you have done very well to get 16k out of them. Many have said that the Maxx's are shot at 10k miles.
  5. As 3 winters tops for winters it doesn't matter if they were manufactured last year. My 2014 car has tyres made in 2013.
  6. SOLD Rear interior bumper from a 2008 Octavia Elegance Estate. Removed to fit a towbar so as new. Bumper is in Barnsley. I am in Leeds daily and occasionally travel to Preston and Chesterfield so can meet. £ 10 cash
  7. April 2014, my 1.6 TDI Elegance came with Dunlop Sport Maxx RT 225/45R/17 91W Great in the dry, average in wet and I anticipate useless in winter so will swap them off. Oh and after 5k miles of normal driving the fronts are at 5mm from the factory 8mm.
  8. I'm just under 5k miles in 3 months in a 1.6 DSG hatch. Fuely below lists all the details and my long term real average is 57.6. Beware the fuely site sometimes displays in US gallons. Computer reads over by 5mpg on average.

  14. Tyre smoke from an approaching vehicle when you are stationary.
  15. Very common problem. If you pay for your own servicing/repairs and want to keep your car 3 years+ go fixed. Variable is only for 3 years or 60k miles ownership
  16. I received an email saying they would action my refund. But still no confirmation though that they have, despite me sending Vanstyle a link to this thread. As Pumatron says "I would not in my opinion recommend dealing with uvcarshades". I'd go further but I like Briskoda and don't want a warning or ban.
  17. Same here. I speced a space saver but have a 16" when the other 4 are 17". Was told thats standard now by Skoda. Better than the usual mountain bike tyre spare.
  18. More Power? Mo Farah? Yes pleeze Branstons already taken that advertising line.
  19. book2e The vanstyle shades do not fit the Octy III and they have a very serious problem with inability to answer email. Email response relies on single individuals and thus fails if single individuals are swamped or on annual leave or F off to a better company. Three Briskodians are out of pocket. Its not rocket science to check a new model's shades fitment before selling. I did offer for second generation shades... I maybe should charge them for my time and consultancy advice as to vanstyles single points of failure. And for the auto bots - Vanstyle review rubbish poor do not use don't order terrible no refunds avoid
  20. Vanstyle aka Palm automotive have finally contacted me after nearly three weeks. Their Chief Operating Officer is now aware of the shoddy service and wrong fitting shades they sell for the Octy III. His email is steve "at" vanstyle.co.uk use the @ I have been advised I have a refund but I am now awaiting clarification of my return postage costs for both the shades that don't fit the OCTY III and the unopened jiffy bag that eventually arrived containing the clips. I was misguiduded and ordered from Vanstyle without my own research. For any internet supplier I haven't used before I email a question about returns and if no reply in 24 hours or no refunds they don't get my business. Lesson learnt. Don't trust the forums and stick to my email policy.
  21. Vanstyle are unbelievable and should be avoided as their customer service is non existant. They send my complaint email back to me today!
  22. In very bad conditions turn the electronics off and use manual feel. Get some decent tyres as a 2wd on the right tyres will always better a 4wd on the wrong tyes.
