  1. My last 2 Subarus both had an independant headlight washer button. Very useful.
  2. Mine had No SD card in the sat nag. I'd read on here to check for it. No rubber mats (that I had dealt in) Tracking was off, steering wheel not on straight. Noticed this upon mile 1 of driving it. Tyre pressures all over the place +1 You could always sign the dealer paperwork as item unchecked??
  3. +1 I have the same car (but with the auto box) and the dunlops are useless in the snow. I run Nokians WR D3 on steels 16". Got the lot for £ 450 (in October). Went out for a drive on Friday night. Drove into a car park with 4" fresh snow. Stopped. Three point turn . Drove back out. Went down a hill, tried the brakes and the car stopped pretty much as normal. drove back up. No problems. Winter tyres really do work.
  4. I filled the washer tank on Saturday. Today is friday and after 230 miles in winter dark commuting the washer low warning light is on. On my MKII a quick screen wash stalk pull then another only washed the screen. On my III this trick doesn't work. I want to wash the screen only. The headlight washer is ineffective so whats the point? SAAB and Volvo have headlamp wipers as they know a pressure wash does little to clear lights. I had two Subarus that has a separate button to blast the lights. This was especially useful when youths stepped out to cross a road in front of me... Is VCDS the only way to stop draining my screenwash in winter when I commute for 2.5 hours in dark?
  5. +1 You need to be in the Driving data "menu" and then scroll up and down for Speed.
  6. Not had this problem I have a 20L jerry can and 5L plastic fuel cans and never had any problem filling cars. My wife runs the kids and the larder - I maintain the cars. She hasn't been to a filling station in years as this isn't a SHMBO chore. I buy fuel at the cheapest Esso/Shell in the county weekly and fill mine and a jerry for the mummymobile. Cars rarely have below 1/2 tanks.
  7. If I was behind someone with a dim 3rd tail light I'd be thinking where is the water ingress.
  8. Its the original paintwork and not been resprayed. The paint is smooth so no idea why it looks odd in the photos.
  9. Following a golf ball through the passenger window the door panel on our Mitsubishi has a number of chips. These look like stone chips and have gone through the red paint down to the white underneath. We are looking for someone who can repair these around Leeds/Barnsley/Sheffield area. May as well have the other odd scratches and bonnet stone chips done at the same. I will need a receipt. Any recommendations greatfully received. Thanks
  10. As above turn the sound down during a traffic announcement.
  11. Interesting how many of us have gone from Subaru to Skoda but still miss our Subarus. Subaru seem to have lost their way in the UK but are doing well in the US and Australia. Maybe a topic for another thread.
  12. I went from a II 2.0 manual estate to a III 1.6 DSG saloon. Private to company so the reverse of your situation. The III is slightly better in all aspects than the II. The 1.6 is adequate and you will save 10% of your annual fuel costs and for me less tax. Personally I'd pay the extra for a 2.0 if it were my money/choice but I'm totally smitten with the DSG.
  13. Mine seems to regen often too. Once a week I have the fans running. I do 300+ miles a week. Mixture of crawling traffic and proper motorway speeds. No warning lights and no noticed anything whilst driving other than mysterious loss of economy.
  14. My steering wheel was off too. Not as much as yours but my dealer fixed it. They took it to the one place in their Group that had a proper alignment rig.
  15. Thanks. Something else not explained at handover... My OctyII was one the last not to have a DPF.
  16. My 1.6 CR engine cooling fan runs regularly (twice a week) after stopping. Its been doing it over the past few weeks and its not exactly hot at present. Coolant was at the low mark 3 weeks ago so I topped up to the max mark and its not dropped. Does it after both 30mph town driving and Motorway runs. Is this normal?
  17. When mine went a local garage charged 5 hours labour to swap it out. No idea about the CD question though.
  18. This thread talks about wiggling the mirror where the rain sensor is. Have you ever had a windscreen replaced? http://www.audifans.net/ftopict-38426.html My other thought is that these cars do odd things if the battery is low.
  19. 64.4mpg in a 2.0 is very impressive and puts you above me as the most economical Octy III on fuely. I assume you don't travel at rush hour.
  20. Same here my brochure said ACC was standard and steeler didn't say otherwise. When my car turned up there was no ACC. I queried but was told that supply problems with ACC ment not possible and they pointed to small print. I was also told that even when it did come back VW and Audi would get the stock. I don't miss what I have never had but urinated off all the same.
  21. Name the dealer on here too. In any case the 16" Skoda steels are £ 60 from Bickerton Sheffield or aftermarket £ 32 from tyreleader.
  22. Trip computer reads about 10% over. The "miles since refuling" is more accurate but still 5% above what fuely calculate. I always brim the tank and fill slowly after the first cut off for a couple more clicks so I know my filling is consistent. No noticable difference between standard Esso/Shell/Jet diesel. I don't bother with supermarket value fuel as I can usually find the branded stuff price matching the supermarkets. About time Aldi/Lidi opened up some fuel stations!
  23. Welsome to Briskoda Oh dear. I've not heard of anyone with this issue. Skoda UK may be able to help. http://www.skoda.co.uk/about-us/contact-us
  24. Got my Nokian WR D3 205 55 16 fitted (valved + balanced etc) to my steelies for £ 40 by local mobile van fitter  . I'll fit them myself in a few weeks. Saw a neat trick with a drill large, hook and the scissor jack.
  25. Get them to deal it in - I did. My Elegance has 225 45 17 alloys and the full size spare is a steel 205 55 16. I assume its a light weight steel or something as it has a big yellow 50 mph sticker on it.
