  1. I'm also with Brentacre - they are really helpful when it comes to insuring modified cars. John is really helpful there.
  2. You could try the local dealer or there should be someone local to you who could decode the radio i'd have thought - maybe do a search on Yell.com. I had mine decoded by a local guy - cost me £15.
  3. I've just ordered one - will let you know how I get on with it.
  4. So when the car fails to start, you stick the key in and turn to the cranking postion, you get the lights on the dash but nothing actually happens with regards to the engine? No turning over, nothing? If so then i'd say sticky starter motor myself. Can you see the starter motor when looking under the bonnet? If so the next time it won't start, try giving the starter motor a tap. If it starts straight away after that then at least you know that's the issue.
  5. If you really wanted to try it you could ditch the rear wash wipe system, and use that output from the pump, run a pipe over to the intercooler and put a jet on the end of it to spray onto the intercooler. You'd just have to push the stalk for rear wash wipe to spray the intercooler then . . . only thing is your rear wiper will go every time you do it!! lol. Easy, cost effective way of just trying it before you go to the trouble of actually buying kit etc.
  6. There are alot of places doing air-con re-gassing. There is a reason why your system is out of gas so i'd take it to a specialist as they will 'leak test' the system first. Some places also add a UV die into the system so should you have any leaks they can find them with a UV light. It will cost you more but I think that using the DIY kit to re-gas your system will be a waste as quite possibly you'll need to go down the specialist route after.
  7. It looks like it simply plugs into your diagnostic port which can be fould behing the little dashboard pocket on the drivers side.
  8. If your really interested in buying it then get an RAC/AA check done on the car. It's £250 but they'll be able to tell you if it's been repaired properly etc. Worth it when your spending that kinda cash!!
  9. It shouldn't do if you have a 4 wire switch on the pedal. I have to admit i've not actually tried it on a Fabia but it worked on both an Octavia VRS and a Mk4 Golf TDi.
  10. If you disconnect the two center wires on the brake pedal switch it will stop doing the power cut.
  11. Yeah they are a direct replacment for the original. Uses the original fixing screws and the original metal grill mounts.
  12. Yeah more the merrier - we need a decent amount of people to make it worth while for the guy anyway so it may be a few weeks before we get enough interest for a date to be set.
  13. Yeah - I don't see why we should make it exclusive for Skodas. It's more for the people who use the web site so I wouldn't even say it has to be VAG!
  14. GO on then . . . sitck me down. Let me know if I need to pay you any money or anything??
  15. £25 will get you a pair of runs back to back with a log off your boost curve which is cheap!
  16. I may come up to this for a look . . . only the other side of the bridge for me.
  17. 44 views and only 1 person interested!!
  18. You don't want to be running sensors too close to the end of their range. It would be a safer bet.
  19. Depends on how much boost your looking at running as a 3Bar map sensor is only going to be able to give an output upto 2bar of turbo boost (3bar includes atmospheric pressure).
  20. Yeah it's coming on!! I'm really please with it so far. There are not many cars with the same or similar performance that return 420 miles to £40 worth of diesel and have the same driveability!!
  21. Sorry mate - got distracted by a 'different' post. The are based in Llandow which is near Bridgend and is right next to the Llandow Circuit. Craig's background is turbo charging and mapping Hondas so that's his area of expertise. Although he is working in conjuction with a company in Hereford that offer remaps for most vehicles.
  22. Like other people have said - the MX-5 is a better car for the money. Bit more expensive if anything needs replacing but they don't tend to go wrong so it's not much of an issue.
  23. I'm guessing that comment is meant to mean that the rollers that have been freshly installed are in accurate?? I'm not bothered either way, it's a bench mark figure and as long as I go back to the same rolling road once further modifications have taken place then I will know if there has been an improvement or not. The power figure isn't all that important - it drives really nice, and goes really well so i'm happy!!
