Wiper Blades
Looked online for SWF. Noticed most/many sites selling them said they were for LH drive, is this an issue?

Wiper Blades
I bought blade refills for my MkII for the past 10 years from a VW garage. They are overlength and need cutting to size. Much cheaper and "environmentally" friendly. Anyone know if this can be done with the MKIII ?

Rust
Just had my MY2007 with 165,000 miles MOT'ed. Passed but had advisories of rust in various places on the underbody. Inspector was surprised to find that level of rust on a "modern" car, he did not think it would cause a failure for a few more years. There are no issues on the upper body, and the car has seen a below average level of winter salt. Anyone else have a rust issue or know if Octavias of this age have a known issue?

Keyless ignition issues
Have you tried replacing the battery in the key. Apparently they may only last 6 to 8 months.

Electric Window Help
Did you press the button for a couple of seconds in the fully open/closed position? This recently worked for me.

Air Bag Light
J.R. glad the push/pull worked for you. I did that for a couple of years but found soldering was the final solution.

Air Bag Light
I also had this problem on a 2007. Mine was also the yellow connector under the drivers seat for the side airbag. Not the connection going into the floor. Suggest you confirm it is the side airbag with VCDS. The connector looks and seems OK. The warning light can be cancelled but will come back within an hour or a year. The answer is to solder as above. The connector is 3 wire and I think is spring loaded to allow it to earth when disconnecting preventing premature deployment. But allows it to momentarily break the connection when stretched or vibrated and activating the warning light. There is a very long detailed description of the problem on an American VW site. Took me 10 years to finally fix the problem, main dealer was absolutely totally useless!

Boot space Vs other VAG estates
We looked around a number of cars when replacing our old Mk2 estate. We took our dog crate around to Skoda/VW/Seat/BMW/Volvo/Merc and tried it in "equivalent" sized estates. The Octavia was a clear winner. Surprisingly non of the dealers batted an eyelid when we asked to try the crate in their shiny new display cars! Its a crude test but an effective way of measuring real world space.

Panoramic roof sunshade
My vehicle is a Mk3 Octavia but believe Yetis use the same sunroof and many Yetis have a pano. I can't get my sunshade to fully close. It will fully close then opens about 1/5th. Tried closing with a single press and a continuous press, makes no difference. Battery has not been disconnected. I had left it in the open position for a number weeks before trying to close it. It will fully open. Car is still within warranty but before going to the dealership I was wondering if I am missing a trick or if this is a common problem?

Towing with an Octavia?
Also if the van is old ( think vintage!) it may have a manual override on the tow hitch which needs setting before reversing .
-
Boot compartment
Have a look at some Aldi boot bags or something similar. They come with lots of velcro which grips the carpet. Mine seem almost designed to fit in the recess and hold lots of junk.

Towing with an Octavia?
Suggest you check your caravan brakes are working properly. Try going forward for a few inches when you feel the resistance, then into reverse again. Had this problem with a trailer when the reverse override wasn't working.

Superskoda
Used them 3 times no issues, delivery may take a day or so longer due to current issues.

Two big dogs in the estate?
Do what we did take your dogs/crates to the dealer ship and try them out. I'd be surprised if they refused we did it with Skoda/Seat/Merc/BMW/Volvo. Surprised at the real difference between cars that look bigger or smaller.

Engine starts with a thump
J.R. interesting comment. The engine starts 1/4 turn hot or cold and doesn't seem to struggle but I will pay a little more attention over the coming weeks.

Engine starts with a thump
Car is a MY07 1.9TDI MK2 Octavia estate 160,000 miles. Starts perfectly, and I do mean perfectly, when cold/cool but when hot starts instantly but with a thump and and an engine shake. I have to admit I have lived with this for a year or so but it is getting annoying. Battery is good. Any thoughts?

Rear sensor problem
You might want to check if the tow bar fitter used vehicle specific wiring (as opposed to the cheaper "piggy back" option) and coded the tow bar in. Also are you using a number plate/lighting board plugged into the socket on the tow bar as I believe this tells the car electronics the tow bar is being used.

Check you have a data USB cable and not just a charging cable. Could be the phone is connecting by BT but not able to access data?

Coolant Leak & use of Radweld
Used Radweld in the 70's even then caused problems. Surprised they still sell it. Throw it away in case you get tempted😁 Or you could save it for the day you buy a vintage 60's Skoda.

Panoramic Roof Maintenance
I also got a demo car that came with a PR I did not value. Does anybody know if anyone has simply sealed the roof with a modern Foil or a 1970s type vinyl roof? On the face of it would seem to be a low cost option to the problem? Aesthetics aside.

Panoramic Roof Maintenance
BigJakk any chance you can provide a link to the maintenance procedure you have decided to follow. Or post the details, I have a PR and am concerned about getting leaks in the future and suspect it may not be a priority for the dealer during a service who may not have much experience with PRs?

Short "knock" sound when opening the boot
I had something similar on a MK II. It was a loose ball head bolt that the gas strut clips on to. The opening and closing action over time had unscrewed the bolt. Not sure if the MK III is similar and could suffer this problem.
