  1. Does anyone know if a 2019 Octavia Estate has the ability to power a fridge/charge a leisre battery while travelling and if not what kit is required ?
  2. Perhaps not a useful reply, but I have recently given up updating the maps twice a year and now use Android auto with google maps on my 2019. Wish I'd done it earlier.
  3. I have a MY19 Octavia estate and had all sorts of strange things happen to my doors, locking/not unlocking/alarms going off, seemed to have a link to whether it had been raining or not. After trying to understand the problem I got a main dealer in France (we were on holiday) to check for fault codes. He smiled when I explained the problem and took less than five minutes to identify the problem. It seems it is a well known problem with the front doors electronics The only solution is replacement. UK dealer who fixed the problem, for £400, more or less admitted it was a known issue. I was 4 weeks out of an extended warranty!
  4. You might want to check my two posts on this subject.
  5. Not sure if you have seen my post on this subject which may or may not be helpfull. I have a 2019 Octavia, had a problem with front passenger door doing various strange things. There is a known problem with the doorlock, two main dealers virtually confirmed this. Cost me £400 supply and fit for a new lock.
  6. Hi varaderoguy, Thanks for reply, do you know if I can lever the camera assembly out from the outside or must I remove the large trim piece on the inside of the tailgate to get access?
  7. Anybody got any advice on how to remove the factory fit reversing camera on a 2019 estate?. I have a lot of water coming out around the camera. Jets to the camera and rear screen are working normally.
  8. Could be a stone stuck between the disc and shield?

  10. I would use a Q-tip/cotton bud on a small part of the mark to test if any solvent/fluid you use won't make it worse.
  11. Has anyone fitted heated mirrors and if so how difficult was it. My 2019 Octavia came with many extras but strangely not heated mirrors.
  12. I have always used D to S. I do not think you can permanently set it to S.
  13. Yes it is very stiff. Extra weetabix for breakfast?😁
  14. Apologies for hijacking the thread. Phoenixboy I often un-tick the interior monitoring when I leave the dog in the car. I find interior monitoring is reset to active after unlocking the car, can you switch it off permanently?
  15. Not sure if your issue is similar to mine. I had a 2007 MK2 which had a problem with the airbag connector under the drivers seat. It was a commonly known issue. One solution was to cut the connector plug/socket out and solder the wires. Not sure if the issue was resolved before 2010. Americans got their problems sorted for free under the "Lemon law." Skoda UK were not helpful.
  16. I have an aftermarket removable swan neck and no problem. However the wiring harness etc is original equipment.
  17. Took it to a Skoda/VW dealer and explained the problem. Got the impression they had heard the story before, they put it straight into the service bay. Five minutes later they said the locking mechanism in the passenger door needed replacing and would order a new part and could fit me in in a couple of weeks!
  18. Thanks for reply PetrolDave. Found that the passenger door will sometimes unlock and sometimes not. On my car simply gripping either front handle, without pulling, should unlock all 4 doors. It always unlocks 3 doors and occasionally unlocks all 4. I think the issue is probably an electronics problem as opposed to a mechanical issue. I think I will need to see if it has thrown up any fault codes.
  19. No, I can only open the passenger door by pulling the internal door handle
  20. Car is estate 2019 with Kessy. Passenger door will not unlock by pulling the external handle with the key present, however the other 3 doors do unlock. Also does not unlock when opening driver's door, pressing the key fob or the unlock button in front of the gear lever. It will unlock by pulling the internal passenger door handle. Car can be locked by touching the passenger or drivers door handle. Driver's door, rear doors and tailgate behave normally. I have reset the "open all doors" in the setting menu. Has anyone had the same problem or got any ideas as to what the problem is?
  21. I need suggestions on how to keep mice out of my engine bay. They had created a food store on the engine block and tasted the outer sheath on some of the wires. Fortunately nothing serious. Car is parked outside all year. Garage said it was not unusual for them to see mouse damage to wires.
  22. Bit of a coincidence, just had an MOT today and had the same advisory. Garage said there was no requirement to replace but to monitor. I took this to mean see what is advised at the next MOT. I am interested in people's views.
  23. Some batteries have an almost invisible film disk on them which needs removing, worth a look?
  24. Have you tried local and online scrap yards? I have failed an MOT in the past for less damage.
