  1. I always leave the aircon on on my Octy.mdid a test in France, motorway drive with aircon on, same distance with it off, negligible difference in fuel consumption. I seem to recall reading that VAG do their consumption figures with it on. SWMBOs Doblo is a pig for misting up, first option I added to her Yeti was heated screen! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. 1.9tdi Octy on a horrendous run M3/M25 today and getting maxidot 58mpg/
  3. Just ordered a Yeti for SWMBO. Didn't go for the keyless entry, as I felt it reduces security when she is parked in dark backmstreets!
  4. Date confirmed again! Allow for shipping, Happy Christmas wife!!
  5. CFB. But, it fulfilled the design criteria, to carry a farmer, sack of potatoes and basket of eggs across a field. I haven't done it literally, but itwould be possible!
  6. CFB yes, front engine, front wheel drive and the suspension system is almost exactly what Issigonis designed! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Have you ever looked at the Citroen 2CV and noticed how much of the 'original' thhinking in the Mini derived from there?
  8. The intermittent rear wiper seems to have cured itself, but now the radio has decided that it doesn't always want to mute when I engage reverse. Anyone else had this? Know a fix?
  9. You won't regret the Scout. I considered it, but bought the 4x4 Octy. The onlt thing that I have ever towed with that comes near was a Landrover! But higher speed and fuel economy...
  10. Thanks, I'll tell her!!
  11. Fairly bog, I'm afraid! SE in white, 1.2 DSG and a few extras. Chosen mainly for accesibility due to her arthritis, and that it was the only one of many that I/we looked at that fitted my spec for a decent vehicle! Oh! And it makes a statement on the drive, next to my Octy!!
  12. just had a build date for SWMBOs Yeti, week 45 November 3rd!! Plus about 3 weeks for shipping?
  13. Thank for the replies. just worried as I know that BMW Merc both need a dealer reset on TPM
  14. AFAIR they did cut the belt to 3 years, but have changed it to 4.
  15. Didn't pick this up when we ordered the wife's Yeti! Is this the sort of system that needs a dealer reset when you have corrected a soft tyre?
  16. Ugly!! Much prefer the smooth lines of the Yeti, looking forward to welcoming SWMBOs on the drive!
  17. Well, the garage rang, and admitted that the Haldex should have been serviced. I also checked the service book, which says 4 years, no mileage. So, I now have to give up half a day to go and get it done....... Thanks all for the advice!
  18. This worries me, as I have relied on the dealer to do what is right/needed. I am currently waiting for them to bother to get back to me! While we were ordereing the wife's Yeti the subject of my Octy came up, and there was a query as to whether the Haldex oil should have/had been changed. I emailed them today about this!! Also worries me as mine is from the era of the ABS problems!
  19. just browsing my comments from years ago. Still getting my servicing done here and the wife has just ordered a Yeti.
  20. Thanks, I just wondered why he was so desperate to unload the Scout. I have heard bad reports about the 1.6 CR, is the 2.o affected? anyway, I am put off by the half leather upholstery!!
  21. Been to the dealers today to test drive a Yeti for the wife (ordered!!) While we were out I left my low mileage 1.9 4x4 Octy estate in thier yard. When I got back the boss was desperate to get me to trade it in against a low mileage 60 plate Octy Scout. Is my car THAT desirable?
  22. No, I would rather be able to lock the doors while I refuel, to prevent any intrusion. Might seem silly , but where I live...... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Just finalising the spec for the Yeti, and I noticed that the petrol cap is included in the central locking. Seems odd, does this mean that unlocking the petrol cap also unlocked the doors? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
