Would need a new gateway probs as its a 56 vrs. If it was this time next month I would take it. Going on holiday soon, pity as it would be useful. What's the lowest price you would go?

Auto dimming rear view mirror- retrofit?
Nismo75 posted a topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Is it possible to retro fit a auto dimming rear view mirror to a 06 vrs? I had one in the primera and always thought it was great. Is there wiring etc involved? -
So tempted, whereabouts 'just south of Glasgow' are you? As I'm in East Kilbride.

I don't think the depreciation is too bad for Skodas. I bought my 56 vRS for just under £6k a couple of weeks ago which seems alot for a 6 year old car, compare that to the Nissan Primera (06) I traded it in against.....valued at £1500 trade in and would probably retail for 2-2500. Considering the primera has a mich higher spec than the skoda I think the vrs holds its value very well. Looking at the vrs diesel you probs won't find one under £7500, even with that it will have 120k on the clock. -
If you think you know who it their tow bar will still have paint on it from your car. Maybe worth checking out?

Part 30 is a lever you lift up to allow air (air con) into the box to make it into a cool box.

Cheers petetdi, just done a wee search and found the firmware. Cheers.

Is that the seller from Ireland? Can I ask how much you paid all in for your Columbus with patch as he quoted me £540 delivered. I could get Columbus and new gateway cheaper than that price.

I'm in east Kilbride just south of Glasgow. Just to ask also are all the screens led? Or are the older ones LCD? Is there much difference in quality?

Thanks for replies, any idea which firmware would not cause battery drain? Cheers

I have noticed there are 2 types of columbus sat navs by each of them having different buttons on the top right. One with 'i' and the other with a microphone? Which version is the newest and is any likely to work with a 2006 vrs without the battery drain issue?

Alloys look really cool. Have they been powder coated? If so how much did it cost? Cheers -
Have a look at VAGCOM thread just below this one.

What is the difference between the econ and auto settings? Does the aircon come on when either are set?

The only skoda garage I know of in Glasgow is Henry's in Kyle street. There is a vw, Audi, skoda independent garage next to the raith interchange near Hamilton. Don't know much about them though. Only had my vrs 2 weeks. If you do find somewhere id appreciate if you'd let me know about it as I'm in east Kilbride. Cheerz

I have been quoted £540 delivered from seller on eBay with battery drain issue fix for 56 plate. Is this a good price? How much did you all pay for your Columbus? Also from where? Cheers

wing mirror glass fell out
Nismo75 replied to baldy1926's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
When I was test driving my vrs the other week before I bought it the wing mirror glass was also loose and flapping about. Glass was replaced by the garage, thank goodness if it costs that much!!! -
You should have cool air straight away. Sounds like it needs filled up.

Bought my 56 plate VRS a week past Friday. Petrol in red. I am absolutely loving it. Drives like a dream. Previous car was a primera, so really is night and day when comparing it to the VRS. Power is amazing, I can almost hear her saying....go on just a little bit faster lol!!!! Now to decide whether to go for columbus, and then maybe stage 1 remap!!!

Thanks for the replies, we have negotiated money off if they didn't change belt, which they haven't so we will be expecting to pay the lower amount for the car. I agree a tick on the service book means nothing and I could not find a receipt when looking through paperwork. Reading up on timing belts there is sort of a way to tell of the belt needs/been replaced. Annoying thing is I agreed to buy car on Sunday however probably wont be able to collect it until Friday as apparently the manager of the garage says the car needs a couple of little things done to it.

Ok, so there is a database that should show work carried out? I am buying it from a skoda garage and it seemed to have alot of service history from that garage.
