  1. Bloody hell! I must have had your share then!
  2. But in the photo where it shows the rear jacking points it looks to me as though there's a warning sticker on the arm!
  3. Hey Pete, has the 1.2TSI got an engine cover?? Sorry, couldn't resist it! Best of luck with your new motor!
  4. I've got a question......I've got a V6 with an annoying rattle from underneath. Think you can fix it??
  5. Thought I'd stick up an update. I took my Superb into another dealer and they sorted the problem out within 3 hours. It was the fuel lines rattling under those floor panels under the drivers seat. Apparently there's some sort of bulletin on it. There's a new bracket and a shaped " sponge " to pad out the lines. My motor is now quiet as a mouse when idling! I am over the moon! :)
  6. The Lintran boxes are among the best, if not THE best! We used to use a large one in my old Landcruiser but found it a bit bulky taking it in and out. We now use a " Dog Bag " in the back of the Superb and find it ideal for our Cattle Dog. Mind you he's only 23.5 Kg, a bit smaller than a Shepard. Couldn't resist sticking up a piccy of him!
  7. It'll be brilliant. Take it easy. Will try and meet up soon. So you decided not to lose the badges! Never mind there's plenty of time.
  8. Thanks! My eldest said he'd come round in the week and put it up on axle stands. Do you know whether there's much under those plastic trays, particularly on the drivers side that could cause any sort of tapping noise?
  9. I've had a bl%%dy annoying tapping noise on my Estate for ages. It only happens when it's idling and it can be intermittent. The dealers have had it for four days without finding anything although all the mechs have heard it at one time or another. They have been looking around the dash area but I think it's coming from underneath the car and resonating around. I intend looking under there myself. I want to take off the plastic floor trays which line the underneath of the car. It looks like they're just held on by torx screws. Could anyone advise me whether this is a straight forward job and whether there is anything troublesome I should look out for? I would appreciate any advice.
  10. Ordered Fabia Estate 1.2TSI DSG on 24/6/10. Delivered on 23/12/10, therefore 26 weeks to the day! It was ordered through Allams of Epsom. I picked up the cheque on 10/2/11.
  11. It was £150 for 18-25 weeks. £300 for anything thereafter. My wife's Fabia was 26 weeks to the day. I got a cheque for £300 from the dealer. I raised a case number with SCS. Told my dealer who have to make the claim. When they get the money they pass it on to your goodselves! It used to be vouchers but it caused too many problems so they've resorted to cash! At least it was up until February when I got mine.
  12. You could have used the Colly on your wheels as well. I use FK1000P but I think the Colly is just as good.
  13. If it's near the edge you can have the repair hot vulcanised.......it'll be as good as new! Costs about £20 but only a few tyre places do it.
  14. I think you've been watching too many TV programmes!
  15. +1. Crikey, 22 must be like sitting in an oven!
  16. My wife's Fabia Estate DOES have the line in the windscreen but my Superb Estate doesn't!
  17. If you want an honest comment I think you've ruined your car! Spray the bloody things black again!
  18. I had to use Kwik Fit just before Christmas for a puncture and they chipped one of my alloys. Unfortunately, I didn't see it at the time. I'd never use them again. I've since found a really good place in Tadworth which also uses the hot vulcanising method when doing punctures. Unfortunately, Tadworth, Surrey is no good for the OP.
  19. The figures are showing it as 325 ft lbs which I believe is the pre FL model. The 170 has only 258 ft lbs I think?? If it is the pre FL model I would steer clear as they had many technical and quality issues. The SBC was dropped from the E class after a couple of recalls as it had continuing problems. If you plough through the Merc forums you'll find plenty of advice in going for the better FL'd model. It was FL'd in 2006 but I can't remember which month.
  20. You're quite right! It's in the nearside rear locker. There's not enough room to stick it under the bonnet.
