  1. I've had mine done with the Pentagon Security Film looks great, comes with a life time warranty and adds security. Pentagon Glass
  2. WHS, personally they are top of my list of extras and a must have on all my Cars now going forward.
  3. I have Michelin Pilot Sport 2's, 225/40 R18 92Y fitted to my vRS. Got them from CostCo when they were on offer and have not been disappointed with them.
  4. You should be fine, I did similar a few weeks after ordering, the worse case is you will lose your place in the build queue and your delivery date may slip. My order and dates: Ordered @ Dealers- 18/07/07 Build Week 36 - 03/09/07 Left Czech Factory - 16/09/07 UK Delivery Grimsby - 26/09/07 Dealer Delivery - 27/09/07 Delivery Date - 01/10/07
  5. Ah right with you now. I am going to go through the Dealer and will deal with them on this issue, but thought it can't harm to involve Skoda as well. That is if they do, do anything.
  6. Really, why not? It's their Car, under their warranty and their Dealer that is letting them down. What do they say "At Skoda we don't just make Cars, we manufacture happy drivers" Well here is one very unhappy one, at present.
  7. Well made a decision, have contacted Skoda UK and am now awaiting them getting back to me. Will also be contacting the Dealer principle first thing tomorrow morning, for a number of reasons, for him to investigate from his perspective and put any relevant pressure on Service Manager, Chief Technician etc and to make him aware I have also contacted Skoda direct.
  8. MrRee Welcome to Briskoda & don't let my one bad experience put you off what is an excellent car, still love mine, obviously prefer it when it works. This is my second Octy and the only problem I have had in just under 6 years. Have colleagues who have the same engine in an Audi A3 and a Golf GTI without issue, plus all the guys on here who have vRS's.
  9. They have provided a 1.9TDI Octy for all but the first week, as they had no loan Cars and were trying to get Skoda to fund a hire car, to no avail. I'll see what happens Monday and speak to the Dealer owner, even if I get the Car back. Want to know exactly what they have done and changed over the period. So will be requesting a meeting and compensation.
  10. Well guess what, no Car. They are still not happy with it and are now suggesting there could be an issue with the fuel system, FFS they must be running out o straws they can grasp at now. The car has only been run a Shell V Power for the last year. They had checked and replaced the Crankcase vent BTW as I asked, recons he should have it back to me Monday but not holding my breath. When I spoke to the Dealer this morning he was making unencouraging noises, having said for the last few days they were happy with it and asked if he could return it to me Monday as the Mechanics finished at lunchtime and the Car still needed valeting, again and refuelling. I will see what they say on Monday and if everything isn't sorted speak with the Dealer principal and request a meeting to discuss. Or should I just go direct to Skoda?
  11. On my second Octy now 5.5 years of ownership and yet to change a wiper blade. Changed the Car before I needed to change the wiper blades ;-)
  12. I would have to agree having had Xenon's on my last two Octys I wouldn't be without them and are on the top of my list of extras as a must have for any new Car I am to get. I have especially noticed the difference and have missed them greatly as my car has been in the Dealers for repair the last 5 weeks, and I have been driving around in an Octy with standard headlights. Driving early morning and evenings to the tune of 1,500 miles.
  13. Guys thanks again for the advice and assistance, very much appreciated. 53FabiaVRS, Matt, may well take you up on that offer in the near future, next month. Just want to get the car back and make sure it is fixed first before I start remapping. Plus after driving a Octy 1.9 TDi for the last 5 weeks I should notice a massive difference. On speaking with the Dealer today, they have confirmed the diverter valve is fine. They have tested again today without any fault being found, with the new ECU in place and no engine warning light, since they resynched everything. So they are now very confident they have now fixed and resolved the issue, as they believe it was only showing up during cold starting. So they will check again first thing tomorrow morning and return to myself pre 09:00 Saturday. Now I am not sure whether or not to be happy/excited or not as there have been so many false dawns over the past few weeks. With the fault reaccuring on the way back to me a few Saturdays ago, when they said they had definitely fixed it, and I had got all worked up and excited about finally getting my Car back. So we'll see in the morning.
  14. Bar two days on the 16th & 17th Jan they have had the Car full time since the 12th Jan. Beginning to forget what it looks like. Great idea on the Skoda Assistance, will also request Warranty if that isn't included as part of Assistance.
  15. Thanks for the input guys. Spoke with the Dealers this morning, the Car is still undergoing testing and is looking more positive today. I also mentioned to them the diverter valve, which he was going to go and check with the mechanic to see if it had been changed or was the later revision, which will be handy if it has been changed or is updated should I chose the STS Stage 1 remap, that is if I ever get the Car back ;-) They have swapped the ECU and say there was a fault on the old one that they have proved under diags, so can only go on what they say. But it also turns out that all the follow on issues identified and being fixed post the new ECU may have all been resolved yesterday when they synched all the internal systems to the new ECU which they hadn't previously done. So it does make you wonder. As for a meeting with the Service Principle, I will be requesting one and compensation once it has been fixed which hopefully may be this week, but if not I will request a meeting next week sometime as I can't get in there until mid next week anyway. What sort of compensation could I request or be looking for based on the car is already on free servicing and has been valleted?
  16. I am now rapidly losing patience with the Dealers & Skoda another part fitted, further tests, further faults, further delays, further broken promises on dates the car is to be returned to myself. But to make matters even worse further promises to phone me back and keep me up to date on current status, and no phone calls. A promise on Friday I would have the car back Monday gone but nothing not even a phone call, resulting in me calling them Tuesday afternoon when I had still heard nothing. Now no disrespect to any mechanics on here, but from what I am being told they don't appear to do much other then swap parts. Dealer advises they run diags, send results to Skoda who say swap part A, they do this run diags again send to Skoda who then say swap part B and so on and so on for over a month now and there are still problems. So far they have got through and I can't remember all the parts but 2 x Air Mast Meters, an ECU, air intake pipes, various temperature sensors, and more. It is doing my f ing head in, losing all confidence in the car, the dealers especially and Skoda. Rant over, apologies.
  17. Well ECU finally arrived and after problems with internet link into Skoda it was successfully fitted on Thursday 11th. Only to identify a fault on another component that they didn't have in stock, but ordered and got delivered on Friday. But now they can't get the new part to speak with the ECU, now due in theory to get the Car back on Monday, day 29 after originally taking it in. On a positive note they have found the problem on the old ECU during testing and can replicate the problem on the old ECU at will.
  18. Had exactly the same issue and it's still ongoing see: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/130197-vrs-sluggish-on-acceleration-the-return/
  19. Yes it's still under warranty Car is under 3 years old and on the free servicing deal, have one more service left at 32K so can't really go to an independent, yet.. The dealers tell me they have had the car connected up and Skoda have been linked in and reviewing the diag results etc. But I too feel they are running out of ideas especially when they phone up asking if it has been chipped or modified in any way. When I answered no, which is hasn't. They asked are you sure? I stated the Car is under 3 years old on warranty and free servicing so why would I, especially and their records show this, that they applied new firmware/software to the ECU at the 20K Service. They then said are you sure you've not fitted a different air filter K&N or something as it could be that causing the problem. I again restated the above, and no I haven't touched or modified the car in anyway it is all stock as new supplied and serviced by them. Did forget to tell them I had put new Michelin tyres on the front through just in case that was the fault!!! Will obviously have to let them fit the new ECU and see what happens, hopefully it will solve the problem, so they tell me. As for another dealer, having bought the Car from the dealer that is trying to fix it and has done all the servicing and work to date, would another dealer take on the car to fix or just refer me back to the supplying dealer and the one that has done all the work to date?. Thx
  20. Car apparently has a faulty ECU, which are in Constraint so been waiting for a part, with one being due in to the UK on Friday 5th February. By which time the dealer will of had my Car for 23 days this year and myself 13!!!! Is a faulty ECU a common problem reading the Sticky at the top of the forum, or just what gets blamed if all other avenues have been exhausted?
  21. Interesting been having problems with mine since before Christmas, and they have finally diagnosed it as a faulty ECU, which is thankfully under warranty having seen the cost in earlier post. Trouble is no stock, part is hopefully due in next Friday 5th Feb. The dealers have had my car longer than I have this year !!!
  22. The fault is back again with a vengeance. 11/06/09 - 23,162 Miles the Air mast metre was replaced by the dealer, and all was well until just before Crimbo.. 31/12/09 - 27,532 Miles Engine Warning Light came on with the car running like a standard 2.0L and drinking petrol again. Took to dealers and the light was reset and the car is to go in for a few days to diagnose problem. 12/01/10 - 15/01/10 - 27,657 Miles, Engine Warning Light back on and running like a standard 2.0L and drinking petrol. Took in to dealers, who had it for 4 days running full diags & road tested. No Fault Found 18/01/10 - 23/01/10 - 27,707 Miles, Engine Warning Light back on after 20 miles, running like a standard 2.0L and drinking petrol again. Taken into dealers who had it for 5 days, diagnosed a faulty Air mast metre, which was replaced with a new one and car road tested for 110 miles, now showing 34mpg on road test by dealer. Was due to be returned to me this morning 23/01 but on way to drop off the Car the Engine Warning Light came back on!!!!!. So a loan car has been provided. Anyone any idea, it's driving me nuts, was so looking forward to getting the car back today. Now I am awaiting a call Monday to see what the problem "still" is.
  23. As has been said once you've had Xenons you won't go back. Had them on my first Octy and now on the vRS was my first choice of extra on the list and a must have IMHO. Tried in previous cars the brighter bulbs of various makes with various results and at some expense but nothing comes close to Xenons.
  24. Out of you choices it would have to be Black for me, which I have :-) Reason being for me my old Octy II 2.0Tdi was in Anthracite which I traded in for the vRS and I once had a Nissan Primera SRi in the Race Blue, so it was Black for me.
  25. CostCo are pretty good for tyres as long as you only want Michelin, I got four when they had the 25% off offer. 4 x Michelin Pilot Sport 2 at £423.16 fitted & filled with Nitrogen.
