Just done the same myself, on the vRS Offer. The debate was keep the Elegance and run it in to the Ground or switch now before I lose too much money on it and have to do MOT & repairs myself as warranty would of expired. Some good offers out there to be had, but haggle hard and compare a few dealers you've nothing to lose.

I've recently asked that of a few Stealers before order my new Car, apparently it is due a minor face lift, rounding the front end and a few other bits and pieces. To be fair they have updated the Octy since launch with bits and pieces Stream MP3 Header Unit and MP3 Input for example. Anyway I have been told it is towards the back end of 2008 or early 2009 that the new model will be out, been told this by three different Stealers now. I was asking specifically as they have been doing so many special offers recently and I was wondering if they were offloading current stock for the immanent new model. Having said that my Car is a factory order anyway.

Well put it this way my 54 Plated Octy 2.0TDi is still on the original pads and the Car has done 50K miles. So they should last longer than what you are experiencing, unless you are Taxing or a Driving Instructor

I use the Parrot 3400GPS with my N95 & TomTom works a treat bar the Phonebook won't replicate. But voice dialling works. Have a Brodit Holder and use the screen in Landscape for SatNav

Is it worthwhile getting a Tracker fitted to my new Octy vRS when it arrives, and if so which one should I go for? My current insurance company Direct Line don't specify or offer a discount if I fit one, but when my insurance is up for renewal I plan on shopping around for a better quote and the Tracker may help and give me piece of mind. Especially as I do a lot of business travel, stopping away in Hotels. Thoughts?

CostCo is excellent. Their Steak is sublime, and the Birthday Cakes for a tenner ideal for those Kids parties where there's the whole class attending, as they all get a good sized piece. Get my Tyres from them as well, although they only stock Michelin but some good prices. TV's are a great buy as you get extended guarantees as standard 3 years IIRC.

Just found a wheel & tyre calculator on the web and it shows a difference in diameters of only 5mm between the two sizes. So should be ok in theory.

Thanks, do you think if I got an 18" Wheel and the 225/40 tyre it would fit in the spare wheel slot in the boot. Just measured mine as I'm assuming the slot is the same in all model and with a 16" Wheel and a 205/55 Tyre there is just about an 1" available all the way round. Would hate to get an 18" Zenith & Tyre for the spare only to find it won't fir in the Boot in the Spare space slot.

The Octy vRS with 18" Wheels as an option I believe comes with an 18" Steel Spare Wheel with the same size Tyre on it as the rest of the Car so 225/40/R18. Is this correct? Reason I ask is I don't want to order and get an 18" Alloy only to discover it will not fit in the Spare Wheel slot in the boot. Thx

I always though the rear had to be delaminated for safety. ie the Fire Brigade can easily smash to get access or put a fire out within the Car. Away to the dealers now so will ask.

I had a Black demo VRs on Saturday 6K on the Clock and it had Dunlop SP Sport Maxx on. I then had a Silver brand new VRs on Sunday 4 miles on clock and it had Michelins on it. My original OCty came with Bridgstones so I suppose it's whoever doing the best deal at that particular time.

Would have to agree I think the red looks far better especially on a Black Car than green.

Well picked up a Black VRs with the extras pack this morning from Woodheads in Blackpool for a test drive for the day. Having just returned from Blackpool I was amazed at how quiet it was and that was with the radio off. Road noise was minimal compared to my TDi seem a lot more planted on the road as well. Impressed so far.....................

Yes, I have been well impressed with my Car seriously debating going for a VRs in fact taking have one all day tomorrow on test. And for me that is a big recommendation as to date I have not had the same manufacturer of Car for my next new Car, had a few Fords though but never back to back and not the same Model. Thinking about it went from Mazda, MG, Ford, Vauxhall, Ford, Peugeot, Ford. Vauxhall, Rover, Nissan, Ford, Honda, Skoda. IIRC

Mine was one of the early Audience units and only displays Track 1 etc by default, if I press a button I get the file name then another button for MP3 Info. But it then switches back to Track Number.
