  1. Why is that Toyota come up with ****-sounding names?!? First MR2 (5hitty en francais) and then TRD (as in TuRD)!
  2. Perhaps it's because the issue meets the second bullet point of point 4. under Vehicle Recalls and Faults, which for your benefit states:4. Faults with vehicles, parts and accessories Faults in the way vehicles, vehicle parts and accessories are designed or made have to be registered with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) if they: could mean that the vehicle, part or accessory no longer meets the legal standard Other types of general faults are not registered with DVSA. How you’ll be told about faults If you own something affected, you might be sent a letter by the manufacturer telling you: what the fault is what you need to do next who you should contact You usually don’t have to pay to get the fault fixed. Other ways of finding out about faults You can check if your vehicle, part or accessory is listed as having a registered fault in the ‘vehicle manufacturers’ non-code action bulletins’. What you need to do You don’t have to do anything about the fault if you don’t want to. However, not getting it fixed could mean that: it becomes unsafe in the future your vehicle fails its next MOT Example Your vehicle could become unsafe if the vehicle manual has the wrong tyre pressure recommendation in it.
  3. Confirmation (via Autoexpress - I haven't checked anywhere more "official") that the all wheel drive vRS is coming to these shores: http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/skoda/octavia/93021/skoda-octavia-vrs-diesel-now-gets-four-wheel-drive Also has pricing and performance info too.
  4. Any issues with the CR VRS diesel engines? Any other common problems? Apart from the small matter of the defeat device potentially being fitted, absolutely none whatsoever. And this from a current CR VRS diesel owner. If I was in your position, I'd hang fire until this whole sorry saga reaches some conclusion, if it ever does.
  5. I'm surprised you haven't had anyone come on here saying "Aye, but the Octy has more rear legroom and a bigger boot"!!! That's usually the case when anyone dares mention that there's an alternative to the Octy!
  6. Bloody good price that ST3. Cheapest one on AT is still over £14K and yours had over £2K's worth of tasteful mods. Grrr, i'm kicking myself for not having spotted it sooner. Can I be pre-emptive and have first dibs on your mk 3 Focus RS when you offload that?
  7. Crikey, that's cheap! I got mine done at the weekend for £425, down from the fixed price servicing cost of £459, and thought i'd done well to get them down to that price, but you've gone and burst my balloon!
  8. Is the windscreen available? Mine's got a stone chip in that I don't think can be repaired. Don't know how easy a windscreen is to remove and fit though. Anyway, do let me know if it's available. Cheers
  9. Do NOT use this dealership!!! Called to book my car in for a service and was INCORRECTLY told that it did not qualify for fixed price servicing (FPS), and they quoted me £366.88 instead of the £259 that the Skoda website says it should have cost. Apparently, a 7 year old Fabia vRS is too old and vRS models are excluded, yet there's nothing on the FPS page (http://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/service-and-maintenance/national-pricing/servicing) that states that such an exclusion applies. If I hadn't been wiser I would have went ahead and been overcharged by almost £110! Avoid at all costs, especially high ones!

  11. Hi, I may be interested. Before I commit though, can you tell me the following: 1) the exact model from the Falken range; 2) if you're the first owner; 3) any puncture repairs; 4) the tread depth for each of the tyres. Cheers Statto
  12. It's a shame we haven't got your deleted post as evidence that you were trying to induce folk into paying over the odds for your car, in which you said you only wanted what you paid for it. Having worked in fraud for a decade I hate to see innocent folk being mugged out of their hard earned cash by con artists.
  13. Think I'm an armchair sales manager? Then why did he drop the asking price by over a grand after arrogantly saying that he only wanted what he paid for it, for a car that's a year old and done 14k! I think the deluded OP thought it was P1 or a laferrari that he was driving!
  14. Hope the new owner didn't pay the same price as what the OP paid for it, as he was originally looking for until he got that post deleted. Don't think the OP's heard of depreciation!
  15. And the child locks in the rear doors, too?
  16. Apologies for the daft laddie question but would the springs be compatible with a CR170 estate or are they body style specific? Cheers
  17. Well, except for the removal of the side rubbing strips, which look cack and which no self-respecting car in the 21st century should have. I've lopped mine off, which improves the look of the car a zillion-fold. Does that count as unmolested though, taking something off?!? I guess it does.
  18. The awful thing is, is that this same car is advertised on Autotrader with the following description.... Low-mileage Special Edition Fabia vRS with amazingly pristine interior, regularly maintained and prepared for sale with new rear brake discs and pads, a brake fluid service and lots more. BRAND NEW MOT. This has been a much loved and trouble-free car that now stands out as one of the last remaining low-mileage examples of this awesome car. Please call for much, much more detail., BLUE, 2 owners, Full service history, Electric windows, Air conditioning, CD player, Leather trim, Height adjustable driver's seat, Folding rear seats, Sports seats, Metallic paint, 16" Alloy Wheels, Power steering, Steering wheel rake adjustment, Steering wheel reach adjustment, Cruise control, Traction control, Central locking, Alarm, Immobiliser, Driver's airbags, Passenger airbags. 5 seats, £7,200 Notice how there's no mention of "FSSH", instead replaced by "regularly maintained"?!? Note also how there's no mention of the missing STANDARD auto changer? I don't know why 733 prefers to be more honest with Joe public rather than the Briskoda community, when we actually know better. I actually feel sorry for the unwitting member of the public who walks into this without doing their proper research or asking the right questions.
  19. I'm still trying to find this "honest and straightforward to deal with" seller.
  20. Yeah, I first mentioned the missing cd changer when the seller claimed it was "optional", I think I got accused of being a nayslayer for it. Coupled with the "FSSH" which actually means "FSSH only from 2010" and failing to disclose that there's outstanding finance on the car when the seller had the opportunity to point it out under "Negatives", and this advert seriously has the whiff of fraud (fraud by failing to disclose information) about it. What else is the seller not telling us about the car unless someone explicitly asks the question? I don't think it's so well priced now, and to the person who offered 6k for it in an earlier post, I'd withdraw that offer if I were you.Statto
  21. ... but the optional six-CD changer is not fitted here. Nice example but wasn't the six CD-changer actually standard with the SE?!? Can others confirm? If it's not in the car, what became of it? Cheers Statto
  22. Looking good. That's a great spec. Your comment re: the rear end being given something to stand out a bit more, maybe something like diffuser-esque fins on the black part may help it to stand out, as is the rage for some cars, but as you say, it's probably better to be understated. I couldn't help but notice that the leather on your seat squab bolster is already showing signs of creasing. Is that a temporary crease and did it return back to as-new, or has it stayed like that? Statto
  23. I'd rather take a central but functional exhaust over a fake and unnecessary "double" exhaust. The Octy's exhaust reminds me of the fake exhausts that spotty teens put on their Corsas to fool folk into believing that ther 1.4 litre four pot is actually a v6!
  24. Wow, that was quick! Well done. Did it go to someone else on here or a non-member?
