No wasn't me , I was heading to Edinburgh area.

I've just been down a the Scottish Borders for a week and towed my caravan which is a bit on the heavy side for the poor octavia but it towed great .The caravan 1500kg so on the limit but towing at 55-60ish I got an indicated 24.8mpg and on the may home (I was slip streaming on the motorway in parts) got 27mpg!! Now for the best bit , I was touring ie pottering along site seeing and got 46.8mpg!!! (Indicated) I normally get 30mpg going to work as its only 10miles but I'm really impressed with the old bus. I towed last year with my scout tdi and only got mid 20's as it was pretty loaded and foot to the floor stuff so for my tfsi to beat it I'm well chuffed . Coming from towing at 12mpg tops and touring at 22 (the scooby) it feels great Just wish I had the power....or anywhere near the torque :(

Did you have the ignition on when you changed the oil ? If so you might have burned out the oil level sensor on the bottom of the sump.

Is that the fabia owners club?

I know its a ancient thread but it applies to me and wondered if anyone else has an issue with detachable towbar clearance.On my vrs estate the alko hitch touches on lock on the lower part of the valance ! Is there a solution as when I called PF jones (bought it from them) about it they said it was the correct bar for the car and nothing they could recommend .

How do they attach ? Is it just tape or tiger seal or something?

Subaru forester 2.5xt ,2000kg in that form or 1800kg in 2.0 turbo form. I used to pull my Brian James car transporter and car no problem but mpg is truly horrific.I see to get 10-12mpg pulling quickly and 22 when going solo if I was going easy running 330ish bhp. Standard will tow about 18mpg if driven slow

Some people like extra power some dont.I myself feel the car is slow especially coming from a mid 300bhp car and cannot justify the price of a sport cat.If people want to be picky about saving the planet then consider the precious metals being used up in cats and the fact that making the car run more efficiently improves mpg.It always annoys me that my old 1.9tdi passat can get better mpg than 1.6tdi blue motion golfs that I use at work because of all the emissions devices strangling the engine.I know its against the law so argument/discussion on a public forum is always going to be met with opposition.

Thanks for the heads up.I work at a gargage so it will be swapped when MOT time comes And the price of sportcats for these cars is stupid!! Just because its a tfsi they seem to double in price compaired to my mk1 vrs

Thanks , I only ask as some listed on eBay say they fit golf and octavia where as others say just mk5 fitment ? It is going to be cheaper to by the one that says its just for the mk5 so maybe its worth a punt :/

I'm looking to by a decat pipe as the final step before I go for a stage 2 map and wondered it a golf mk5 tfsi decat will fit my tfsi vrs ?

I already have the honeycomb top grill and was looking forward to a matching bottom one :(

I was looking to get the lower honeycomb grill for my pre fl vrs but its not advertised anymore! Do they change their products a lot as I was going to buy B and C pillar black covers but they stopped advertising them a few months ago :( Its so annoying to figure out what you want then go to order it to find its no longer sold!

I did log it the best I could on vcds and actual was way higher than specified.Say at idle it was something like 320mbr but actual was 950mbr? Not sure if that make sense or if the right terms are used but in my eyes it leaking. Yes Conan it did feel terribly slow compaired to the fozzy but the fozzys gone now :(

There is oil coming out the dv, it had flat spots and is down on low down power.after 5000rpm it seems to go fine. Now the flat spots are a lot less but its still low on power :(
