  1. As long as the car has an EC declaration of conformity then you'll have no issues with underseal, fuel types etc because the car has to be the same for all markets in the EC. The only difference will be the spec.
  2. It's GAP insurance as Rob says but afaik you can have upto 5 years cover - if your willing to pay for it. Many insurance companies will replace a new car with another new one should it be written off in the first year as part of the policy.
  3. Be careful about talking money directly with the vendor. Some people are responsive to it others find it uncomfortable and have paid for an agent to do all the dirty stuff. I know everyone slags estate agents off but my advice is to get them on your side to put pressure on the vendor. For example, make sure you're in a really strong position to buy - you've sold your house and have a completion date, you're in rented property / with parents etc so have broken the chain. Even employing the same estate agent to sell your house so they know the 'full picture'. Get a mortgage certificate of your lender to prove you have the funds in place. It all helps. Don't forget although primarily the estate agent is there to bleed you of moe money they don't want a house hanging around for too long so use that to your advantage.... Here endeth the lesson
  4. Will try and fix, hang on...... Done, just click on the link. Rubbish quality from my cheap digi camera but hey ho....
  5. Well here's a quick piccie with the Octy taken at the services on the way home. Spec is 1992 J plate, 8v in Oak Green, 3 door and is totally standard. Carp quality piccie but you get the idea..... http://img46.imageshack.us/my.php?image=golfoctavia4bc.jpg
  6. I don't think that's too bad a price tbh. You get what you pay for at the end of the day and if you'll get a better job done then I'd say pay it....
  7. Ever since having a V6 for the day a few years ago and umpteen twin-spark hire cars the 156 is one of the many cars I'd actually like to own one day. The styling, performance, noise of that V6 motor and price are a big attraction. Now there's a BUT coming........ BUT I know the suspect reliability and over-priced servicing costs (I used to have a Fiat) would sour the relationship for me and as a result I will not be investing.......Goodbye
  8. Here it is nailing a Diablo..... Maybe
  9. For even mentioning that I'd like a bike I get the death stare from hell from my Mrs!! What is your secret?? Lovely looking bike though
  10. You'll be looking around the £400'ish mark for a custom re-map from the like of JabbaSport or JBS plus others. I can't comment on the figures but I'm sure you'll notce the difference Re: insurance any deviation from OE spec and the insurer is quite within their right to refuse to payout whether it be re-mapped, chipped or whatever. Best bet is too come clean and declare it.
  11. Dealer did a cracking job to be fair. No sign of any overspray or 'fisheyes' so dead happy with the result. A bit early to tell if it'll come back yet but will monitor closely
